    Bad experience

I stayed at this hotel with my husband and daughter as part of a package we purchased, and unfortunately, we did not have a good experience. The hotel has two pools: one is supposed to be the “quiet pool” (which is very confusing because the large sign at the entrance says that children are allowed if accompanied by their parents), but then there’s a much smaller sign I hadn’t seen that says the opposite. The other pool plays music all day at an extremely loud volume—it’s honestly unbearable. We were at the quiet pool with our daughter when we were asked to leave. We asked staff to show us where it says children aren’t allowed, but no one could provide a clear answer. When we tried to go back later, someone else very rudely told us to leave again. It was an upsetting experience, and even the other guests at the pool couldn’t believe we were being kicked out with our 2.5-year-old daughter. As for the drinks, if you’re hoping to enjoy a good cocktail, that won’t happen here. Every drink we tried was terrible, and the staff at the bar were extremely rude. The service was awful. At the buffet, the employees were a bit friendlier, but the food wasn’t good at all and it was clear that those behind the counter weren’t motivated or enthusiastic. We ended up leaving three days earlier than planned, losing money, but we just wanted to enjoy a few nice days—and that definitely wasn’t happening there. I don’t usually write reviews like this, but honestly, when you go on vacation with your family, you expect to have a good time. Poor staff attitudes and unwelcoming facilities can really ruin the experience. Thank you.

Pleasantly surprised (I was scared after reading reviews) - excellent value

Had to come on and leave an honest review, as after reading some of these before we travelled I was worried! This is a small resort, all of the areas are kept tidy and clean. Food was good, plenty of choice and tasty. Always plenty of salad items which was perfect for lunches etc. There were periods where it took a while for things to be topped back up, or for tables to be cleared and played again. However this was not frequent and never really caused us issues. The a la carte was pretty good - menu alternates between a Mediterranean menu and Asian. Would be good if they changed it up week by week for a variety if you go a few times. Also the wings at the snack bar were nice for a change. Bar staff were all excellent - especially Jerome and Myles. Cocktails were really sweet and premixed so hot my favourite but there was a lot of other stuff to drink. Room was a mountain view suite - clean, spacious and comfortable. Excellent air con and fridge worked well. Water left in room daily, as well as some cans and bottles of coke and beer etc when we arrived. No complaints. The bathroom was a bit dated, but clean adn shower was good. No shower gel etc, just bar soap and shampoo. The beaches were lovely, quiet pool was my favourite place. Never once had an issue finding a sun lounger in the 2 weeks we were there. However, the ones on tbe beaches could do with replacing as they're really uncomfortable. Pool and Jetty bar ones were way better. The evening entertainment is mixes - a couple of good things like the band and the steel drums but nothing to write home about. There are a few cats around but they're really not a problem - might be different if we weren't animal lovers. If you dont feed them they stay away. I used the gym a few times- perfectly adequate for a hotel however there is no air con so it was absolutely boiling! All I all i would definitely go back, we got a really good price for it and it was excellent value for the money we paid. I think if you go remembering it is a 3 star hotel then you will be pleasantly surprised. I travel frequently and mostly dont leave reviews, but I think this place is getting harsh reviews which are not fair!

    Would we return NO

Just returned home today after a 2 week stay had a cottage about 3 from beach front , room cleaned everyday and was very spacious with a king size bed , large shower area and plenty of storage space . Beach area cleaned everyday and plenty of sunbeds , the main pool is very small with little sunbeds around there . Food was hit and miss but we never starved , only downfall was the locals used this as there weekend break away and would overflow there plates leaving the buffet empty and it wasn’t replenished unless you asked the staff for more . We noticed women on holidays here were paying for local Jamaican men to stay there with them , then they would be around bar selling weed but security would turn a blind eye to it , also on the weekends security staff was everywhere from stood outside dining room entrance to the bar areas which was intimidating. I had a incident with one member of security in the Jasmine restaurant open between 11-5 for snacks where my band had to be taken off by reception where it was so tight so the stapled it to my room key band and the security woman shouted at me put it on which I told her I couldn’t she watched us through our snacks and staring at us as we was walking out bearing in mind this was our last but one day and no other security had a problem with this I did report to reception but no one had replied on the outcome .The staff are hit and miss also some couldn’t do enough for you and others walk around with no interaction at all this we noticed more at the main pool bar . It is a hotel only based holiday not much outside the hotel just 2 little souvenir shops and a supermarket.Overall it is a 3 star hotel so you get what you pay for .

    Ocean Front Cottages are fantastic!

We visited this resort late February as a family vacation. We booked an oceanfront cottage and it was perfect, we had our own little slice of paradise. It was private and quiet and we could go to the pool for some fun and games if we wanted. The cottage was clean and well equipped. The food was great, not rows and rows of options, but it was enough and it was well done! We certainly didn’t go hungry. The staff were generally friendly and eager to help, I have no complaints. It’s a smaller resort, so if you’re looking to be entertained 24/7 probably not the place for you. They do have activities around the pool and evening entertainment which was fun. Personally I loved the smaller resort and I would absolutely come back again!

    Excellent family weekend!

I loved the room that was assigned to us. Very ample and spacious, the mezanine on top with 2 personal beds was a great idea, and provided privacy and confort. We had enough towels and everything we needed (exta pillows, blankets, etc). The room had also a small refrigerator, fan, daybed, the AC was nice and cold, the decorations and ambiance were elegant and distinctive of Jamaican culture. The pool was always clean and not crowded. The service was great, including the front desk, the bellman, the cleaning staff, kitchen staff and even grounds man. The food was well prepared, with good variety, not very spice (my wife doesn't like hot pepper). The egg station was great, very good omelets. The entertainment was good and creative. The a la carte restaurant was nicely decorated and the food was good. The staff was very attentive. I really recommend this hotel specifically for families and children.
