Awful Experience /Food / Drinks /
Think twice before booking—especially if you care about food, drinks, and well-maintained amenities The only thing saving this hotel is the staff. Several employees were genuinely attentive, kind, and hardworking - Beatriz and Mariana were the best. Unfortunately, the property itself is badly outdated and in urgent need of basic maintenance. Many areas look neglected: dead coconut palms, unhealthy cacti, random patches of grass, deteriorated planters, peeling paint, broken glass, damaged furniture, and dry, unpainted, rotting wood around the pool. The hotel wastes water trying to maintain green landscaping in a desert climate when it should create attractive, sustainable desert gardens instead. Even the adults-only pool was closed during our stay. The swimming pools were overcrowded with children, and there was only one bartender. The alcohol offered throughout the resort was extremely cheap and low-quality. The lobby bar had almost no selection, and there was no option to purchase better-quality liquor—even if you were willing to pay extra. The food at both Luna restaurant and the buffet was repetitive and disappointing. Every day brought essentially the same dishes and flavors. There was only one low-quality fish - Tilapia served with different sauces, and its taste and texture were terrible. The desserts were dry, flavorless, and repetitive. The buffet presentation was so unappealing that by the second day, simply looking at it made us lose our appetite. If food and drinks are an important part of your vacation, this hotel falls far below expectations. The gym was especially concerning. The ceiling appeared damaged, with moisture and leaks, and children around five or six years old were using the equipment without adult supervision. The hotel’s policies also feel outdated and unreasonable. Visitors are not allowed unless they pay approximately 4,000 pesos. Do not try to bring friends or visitors. If you have a reservation problem, do not expect much assistance from reception—they may simply give you a phone number and leave you to resolve it yourself. The hotel seems focused on keeping the main entrance presentable while many interior areas are visibly deteriorating. The amenities are old, the décor is obsolete, and the property desperately needs serious investment and basic repairs. Before booking, consider exactly what you expect from your vacation. If you are coming for good food, quality drinks, attractive facilities, or well-maintained amenities, this hotel is severely lacking. The kind and attentive staff deserve recognition, but they cannot compensate for a property that is run-down and poorly maintained. The last day we noticed that the manager was going to some rooms in company with another white guy - it was a guest in the hotel without any concent of the guest so be careful of your belonging. It looks like the guest lost something and he was tracking it with his phone and looking through at least 10 rooms. and the manager was opening every single one. This was unacceptable. I would never stay here again.

Diamond Member Disappointed: Poor Service, Room Conditions, and Dining at Grand Decameron Los Cabos
I’ve been a Diamond member with Wyndham for many years. I wasn’t going to write this negative review and tried to solve this amicably with Decameron Properties but they didn’t seem to care one bit. I’ve stayed at all-inclusive properties with Wyndham before including Wyndham Alltra Cancun, Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres, TRS Coral, and Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen. Each and every time we arrived early we were given wrist bands and told we can use the amenities while waiting for our room, whether it was just a few hours or even arriving 8 hours early one occasion. Not the case here at Grand Decameron Los Cabos. We arrived only 30 minutes early and were told to have a seat and come back up the front desk at 3pm when check-in begins. I found that strangely different then the experiences I’ve had with the other properties i mentioned above. For Diamond members, based upon availability, they will upgrade you to a suite free of charge. I asked and they were unwilling to upgrade me until I offered a $20 dollar tip to the receptionist. She said she was able to find me a “partial ocean view.” We booked our stay with points, 15,000 points a night, 3 nights total for 45,000 points. The “partial ocean view” had a dead cockroach on the bed, bird feces all over the balcony and you could not see the ocean unless you went to the very corner of the balcony, not from the balcony seats. We also found out that we couldn’t even make reservations for the restaurant because the cut off time had already passed even though we arrived 30 minutes before check in. So we ended up going to the buffet and the food was so bland and tasteless that honest to God my home cooking is better and that’s not saying much. And the worst part is that while you’re eating out on the balcony, the birds are so aggressive they come onto the table and pick the food off your plate. This was supposed to a relaxation trip for my elderly father but even he was disappointed with the property and amenities and asked if we could change hotels. So the next day we decided to leave in the morning and head to Los Cabos Golf Resort, another Wyndham property in Cabo San Lucas. It’s only 7,500 points a night and the property is immaculate, the food is impeccable and the villas are extraordinary. I highly urge anyone considering staying Decameron Los Cabos to stay at Los Cabos Golf resort instead. I told the property that if I was refunded my wyndham points, I would not write a poor review of my experience because as a business owner myself, I know how reviews can impact your bottom line. But they were uncooperative with me and would not refund me any of my points So there you have it.

I will NEVER go back to this dump ever , I will tell everyone Not to go here.....
Not a good experience. Only 2 restaurants, buffet & pool side . Buffet was only good the first day, after that items changed but all taste the same. Pool side restaurant is a joke , putting "make up on a pig", it' still a pig. Terrible lunch items and white table cloths for dinner didn't change anything. Only 2 bars were available , pool side during the day then closed and then other opened. no top rated liquor . Dos XX was on tap always , A++. No hot water last 2 days we were there . Smoke detector went off due to old battery, no maintenance available ,security showed up but didn't know what to do so we removed the battery. Maintenance on the entire building was lacking . Not sure of quality of linen. Definitely not cotton ??? House keeping did a good job, we did tip everyday. We stayed 4 day,4 nights Beach walking was great North and south.

Wonderful experience!
The spa has great facilities. We did sauna, massage, facial and jacuzzi in one package. Ana Mendez and Xóchitl Angeles gave us an excellent service. As a cumpliment I got a feet exfoliation.
