  Worthless

  Been to this resort many times in the past first time back in 7 years it was the worse experience I have ever had here, only 3 restaurants open at night, and two of them you had to have reservations, the buffet for was terrible, also called the night before to ask if i could get a early check in they said yes for 60 dollars for two hours early, got there, paid the 60 and after i paid they said it was only for common areas not room where i needed to make a video call on my pc but had to do it in a restaurant with loud people, this place is no longer worth the visit so pools were closed, the beach was washed out in places, it maybe at best is a 2 star now

  Bad Experience

  A beautiful location, but awful experience. The staff is extremely unwelcoming and rude! The housekeeping in particular, it seems that they do not understand “no”. It was a constant fight to get fresh towels as well. Any given day most of the restaurants were closed as well, with any of the good looking food costing extra (despite it supposedly being “all inclusive”). There are no real activities beyond the beach itself, and not even beach volleyball! The beach is beautiful, but is constantly littered with vendors who harass you as well as people on horses littering the beach with horse poop. There are also a numerous amount of stray animals around the resort. The hotel was also advertised as an hour from the airport, but in reality, it is 2 - 3 hours in a shuttle bus with no air conditioning. The food is the same every day, and it’s very frequent that the food halls are full so you have to wait outside. They are also only open a few hours of the day, why does dinner not start until 6:30 pm? This normally wouldn’t be an issue, we could just wait in the hotel room, but housekeeping pesters us all day long and kicks us out of our room! Everyone is so incredibly loud as well, with drunks roaming the hall and night pitching a fit. Nobody seems to speak English either. It’s not a big deal, my Spanish is okay, but it is a little disappointing.

  Water, Electricity and Forks - NOT INCLUDED

  We had an absolutely unacceptable experience at Grand Decameron Panama in Farallón, and I strongly recommend that families think twice before booking this resort. We were traveling as a family and had TWO hotel rooms. Our group included two small children and an elderly grandmother whose medication needed to remain refrigerated. During our stay, the resort lost electricity and running water. We could not wash our hands, shower, or even flush the toilets. The refrigerators stopped working, including the refrigerator needed to keep our grandmother’s medication cold. The air conditioning also stopped working, including during the night. When the power and water went out, we personally spoke with maintenance personnel at the resort. They could not tell us when the problem would be resolved or give us any estimated restoration time. With two young children and an elderly person requiring refrigerated medication, we were not willing to simply remain in hotel rooms without basic utilities indefinitely. The problems were not limited to the rooms. At breakfast, the buffet did not even have forks available for guests to eat with. We ultimately checked out TWO DAYS EARLY and secured other accommodations. We explained the situation in person when we left. The staff apologized and checked us out. What happened afterward is what turned a terrible hotel experience into an unacceptable customer-service experience. We requested a refund only for the two unused nights for our two rooms. We were not asking for a refund for the entire vacation. We simply asked Decameron to refund the nights we could not use after leaving a resort that could not provide electricity and running water. Decameron refused. Even more frustrating, in their written response Decameron acknowledged that our rooms experienced a loss of electricity and running water and acknowledged that restoration efforts were still underway when we departed. Nevertheless, they characterized our early departure as a “personal decision” and refused to refund the unused nights. Apparently, according to Decameron, choosing not to keep two small children and an elderly grandmother in hotel rooms without electricity, running water, functioning toilets, air conditioning, or reliable refrigeration is simply a guest’s “personal decision.” That response tells me far more about this company than the original outage. Hotels can experience mechanical failures. Power outages happen. Water interruptions happen. What separates a reputable hospitality company from a bad one is how it treats its guests when those failures occur. We did not expect Decameron to prevent every possible utility interruption. We did expect them to take responsibility when they could no longer provide basic hotel accommodations and we were forced to find somewhere else to stay. Instead, they kept our money for TWO ROOMS for TWO NIGHTS that we did not use. For families, particularly anyone traveling with young children, elderly relatives, or medications requiring refrigeration, I would strongly recommend considering another resort. A beautiful beach does not make up for a hotel without basic utilities — and an apology does not make up for charging guests for nights they could not reasonably use. I would not stay at Grand Decameron Panama again, and based on the way Decameron handled our complaint afterward, I would be extremely hesitant to book another Decameron property. ________________________________________________________________________________________

  VERY disappointing

  Not allowing room entry until an hour after 'check-in', most of the staff so unmotivated to even smile or great guests politiely. Sun rises between 0700 and 0730 hrs, but person who dispenses towels not on duty until 0900 hrs ?? WTF?. Drink selection can be limited at resto ?? what is [all inclusive]?? Only one trash can per unit ?? Leisure area at beach unkept. No one on beach to take drink orders...........VERY MEDIOCRE AT BEST,
