The staff was great especially Kim,Gretchen and Virgie our flight left late and they did everything they could to accommodate us. We’ve been there before and would definitely be back. The groundskeeper did a great job. The beach was beautiful.

Relaxing at the Royal Lahaina.
The check -in was great. The staff was great. But the first room that we were assigned to had ants in it. They were very tiny and we did not notice it until about two hours later. Someone came to the room and sprayed the room. We were moved to another room and given a $100 credit for our inconvenience. I would still recommend this resort. Overall, we had a great time.

The location of the Royal Lahaina Resort is absolutely perfect—peaceful, scenic, and feels almost like a hidden gem. The calm beaches and quiet atmosphere make it an ideal spot for a relaxing stay away from the crowds. The staff is very professional and welcoming, and the check-in/check-out experience was warm and smooth. However, for the price point, there are some areas that could definitely use improvement. The rooms could benefit from better upkeep; they didn’t have the freshest smell, and the furniture seemed a bit worn out—could use repainting or refurbishing. The bathroom tiles and glass panels also need updating to match the overall standard of the resort. On the positive side, the Wi-Fi speed was surprisingly good, which is always a plus. Also, don’t leave without trying the macadamia nut ice cream from The Scoops shop near the entrance—absolutely delicious and a highlight of the stay! As for the breakfast, it would be nice to see a bit more variety. The offerings felt repetitive when staying for multiple days. Overall, the resort has so much potential and offers a memorable, peaceful Hawaiian experience—but a few updates would really elevate the overall comfort and value.

Apr 24, 2025First visit to Maui turned out awesome.
Hotel is located in the west side of the island which has the best calm swimming beach. We had an Oceane view room with spectacular sun set view. We had dinner once in the hotel and it was very good. If you have a rental car which you should, daily payment is required.

Great option for any type of traveler
Loved our stay. I'm not always a resort person, but there was lots to do at or around the resort, beautiful views and amenities, and it didn't feel like a theme park. We had a short stay but I would definitely return. Staff were awesome (but this seems to be the rule, not the exception in Hawaii).
