Jan 06, 2026Horrible Experience especially with reception and management!
Everyone, this resort is a 1 STAR experience. Avoid at all costs! I booked two rooms at this resort through the Marriott website. I am SHOCKED Marriott would attached their name to this property in any way. The two rooms I booked on the Marriott website did NOT resemble the rooms we were assigned at check in. Extreme disappointment to say the least. I immediately returned to reception to question the room location and views based on what was booked and charged via the Marriott website. Bait - and - switch is the policy here. Reception was swamped and after waiting 45 minutes to talk with Caesar (receptionist) he was no help. Elevated the issue to night manager who again refused to seriously talk with me about the issues. Extremely disappointed and multiple complaints posted. The cleanliness of each room was also questionable and certainly not up to Marriott quality. Thank goodness we travel with Lysol. Both rooms not completely cleaned from previous guests hair and each room had multiple mosquito's flying around upon entering. These rooms were NOT worth the amount paid! Food quality horrible. I have stayed at multiple all inclusive resorts over the past ten years. This property was not full during my stay here yet the resort did not have adequate help for food preparation. The booking app for the speciality restaurants did not work for the first four days of our stay. So no luck booking for the speciality restaurants which were all full. So buffet it is, but that was packed regardless of the times my family went. Extremely hard to enjoy the resort when the food choices and preparation times take up most of your free time. The only positive thing about this resort is the beach staff. Very friendly and attentive. However, overall - AVOID this property.

Had an excellent time at Royalton Bavaro . Location was great . Adonis our butler was very welcoming and helpful ,he answered all of our questions made dinner reservations . Beautiful resort. Rooms very clean always. Highly recommend.

This is one of the worst experiences. The check in & out process took well over an hour. This property is a Marriott franchise, but they do not accept Marriott benefits so if you are a platinum titanium or any level Marriott member, it doesn’t matter here. The food is mediocre, and the drinks are very much house liquor only. It’s great for families, but not for experienced and Well traveled individuals.

Terrible experience!
Terrible experience starting with two hours wait to check in, mediocre rooms (booked the Presidential suite to get a regular one bedroom suite!), and overall very poor service, no response from the staff, and overall a bad experience. Never again!
