  Arturo and Marisol saved us

  This place? It’s having an identity crisis. The room. Unacceptable. The fan didn’t work unless it was set to jet engine about to take off, and the air conditioning was weaker than France in WWII. I’m not asking for Antarctica—I’m asking not to sweat through my dignity. If you’re marketing luxury, the temperature should not feel like a negotiation. Room service. A downgrade, full stop. Back in 2022, the menu had options. Now? Slim pickings. The food arrived cold, dry, and suspiciously reminiscent of something that had already lived a full life earlier that day. And water? No bottles in the room. You’re sent to fill up from a hallway tap like you’re at summer camp. Is it clean? Probably. Do I know? No. And luxury resorts don’t operate on “probably.” Now, credit where it’s due. In 2022, everything ran smoothly—except the Diamond Club butlers, who were about as responsive as a bad assistant. This trip? Total reversal. Marisol and Arturo were rock stars. Proactive, attentive, and on it. They treated us like we were their only clients on the planet. They handled every issue immediately and even orchestrated a room change to fix the temperature problem. That’s how it’s supposed to work. The apology tour. To make things right, the hotel arranged a private romantic dinner with a special menu—and it delivered. Excellent food, great atmosphere, no complaints. The spa? Outstanding. Truly one of the highlights of the stay and executed exactly the way a resort at this price point should. We actually did a prime presentation and received extra massages. We almost booked it too, Camille and Ezra were total honeypots very attractive. Bottom line. The Royalton CHIC has a solid foundation, but structurally—and especially in-room experience and room service—it needs upgrades. The hardware is lagging. The people, however, are fantastic. Service across the resort was consistently strong, professional, and genuinely caring. So here’s the verdict: If Royalton invests in fixing the rooms and modernizing the in-room experience, this place could be elite again. Until then, it’s a high-energy resort being held together by exceptional staff doing heroic work to cover for fixable flaws. And that, my friends, is the truth—delivered with love.

  Great Hotel (bad elevators)

  We spent a week with all our old high school friends (almost 40 of us). The hotel’s all inclusive format was perfect for our group and they even helped us plan a private dinner one night at the steakhouse. The beach is excellent and well kept and there are 3 pools so lots of space for everyone to enjoy. Unfortunately they have serious problems with their elevators. Of the 5 they have, one was down the whole time and another went down towards the end of our stay. Average wait time for an elevator was at least 5 minutes and often double that. It’s a big problem and took away from an otherwise great experience. We used the Diamond Club and our Butlers, Iran and Sandra were attentive and jumped to our assistance whenever we leaned on them.

  Great vacation

  Had a great time with friends. Butlers Sandra and Iran were excellent! Elevators are a problem in the resort but everything else was excellent.

  Honest Review

  Perfect location and had overall a wonderful time. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The vibe team are Fab and make the days so fun. Night time entertainment was hit and miss, some shows was excellent whilst others weren't. The beach and the view from your room ( if you have ocean view) you can not beat or compare. On a morning the view from laying in bed was like you was on a cruise! We was planning on returning until a deposit was taken at check in and check out I had to ask for it back, which I was told it would be refunded to my card within 3-5 working days. 2 weeks has gone by and I still haven't received it, I have emailed the front desk and post travel e-mail as well as messaging the Instagram page and got no response! Really disappointing and I have read other reviews and it seem like I am not the only one. It's a shame because the staff around the resorts were really helpful.

  Great staff with a beautiful location for a resort.

  My husband and I just returned home from a 16 day vacation at Royalton Chic. It was our third trip to the property and when people at home say why would you go to the same resort I am quick to respond THE STAFF from mangers to waiting staff. We can’t say enough about the beautiful beach so safe as I walked each morning for an hour both ways. The idea of the Diamond club with butlers is a must. We had Samara and Esteban and they know how to make people feel wanted and comfortable. We met Johnny and Daniel who manage the reservations and try to keep people happy. Mabel was helpful when I needed some help translating English words into Spanish. She went over the top helping me. I enjoyed going to La Hacienda for some fruit each morning. I met Karen and Dorantes and they were so pleasant and kind. A young man named Jorge Trejo worked very hard and remembered my order each day.Each morning after my walk our beach butlers Carlos and Santiago found a nice shaded spot wth an umbrella. They were both so pleasant and worked very hard at their job. We would have a drink each afternoon and got to met Anna the waitress at the beach and Mr. Rabbit ( his nickname) would made great BBC’s. I did the kitchen tour and found that interesting and well presented. A chef named Julio made some good things for us to eat. All in all our experience was very positive and we look forward to our fourth return. The transportation is very smooth and only 30 minutes from the Cancun airport. We used Happy Shuttle and their vehicles are clean,cool and they are dependable. This company is very easy to find outside. We saw no seaweed this trip on the beach and the workers work very hard keeping it clean. I named a few people but in all areas the staff are very good and work hard taking pride n their job.
