  Mixed feelings for this resort

  We just returned from our first stay at Sandos Cancun. We are Royal Elite vacation club members so we expect the resort to exceed our expectations. The pros- The resort is very clean. The rooms are in good condition. The majority of the staff are welcoming and friendly. A special shout out to Monserrat (our hotel concierge), she was very helpful. The Italian and Asian restaurants were very good. The buffet was good at breakfast with a good selection or fresh made eggs if desired. The cons: No pool/swim up bar. I didn’t care to go into the restaurant by the pool every time I wanted a drink. As part of the Royal Elite you expect more amenities for club members. Club members should be shown priority, that was why they joined. There wasn’t anything special for members. There was no special things to do like the other resorts, tequila tasting, crafts, bingo etc. My biggest complaint was there was never any lounge chairs available. I don’t go on vacation to get up 4:30 in the morning to save a chair. Most chairs were resolved and no one sat in them all day. Not sure if we return to this resort again. Sherry

  The pictures on the website did not accurately reflect the actual experience or overall quality of the hotel. While it is an adults-only, all-inclusive resort and conveniently located close to the airport, the property itself is clearly in need of updates and renovations. The resort is also situated directly next to an abandoned hotel, which significantly impacts the views. Any room on that side of the property was especially disappointing. Although the resort offers a variety of dining options — including Mediterranean, buffet, Japanese, and pizza — the food was just okay and did not exceed expectations.

  Perfect Holiday!

  It is our last day here but my wife and I had an amazing time! The resort is clean and the employees are all so friendly. Our room was cleaned thoroughly everyday and was always stocked with beverages in the mini fridge. The beach is beautiful - one of the nicest beaches I have ever been to. Seating is limited, so I had to go down before 7 AM to get a shaded cabana for the day. Same thing with the pool area. I was up at 5 AM to grab a couple of chairs and they are mostly all scooped up by 6. They should consider adding more seating. They have cabanas reserved for people who are either royal elite or who sit through their 90 minute presentation on becoming royal elite. That being said, the day at the pool was great! The entertainment was enjoyable and made for some prime people watching. I don't drink, so appreciated having Non-alcoholic beer available, and my wife enjoyed the drinks! Food was mostly good - Buffet was hit and miss, but mostly hits! The Mexican night and Mediterranean night were some of the best meals we had. We ate at all of the restaurants with Seasons being the best one. Breakfast was the same at the buffet everyday but we always found stuff to eat. The highlight meals were probably lunch time at St. Trop - fish tacos were great, but the tuna toast was incredible! The only bad meal we had was the Masquerade night - the beef was severely overcooked that my wife couldn't eat hers and we ended up at the buffet. For a small resort, we were worried we would have to wait long at restaurants/bar, but that was never the case. Would come back here again!

  Sunshine, ocean, warm welcome, delicious cocktails, St. Trop breakfasts, relaxing poolside in the comfy cabanas!

  We had an amazing 7 days at Sandos Cancun! From the quick and friendly checkin and helpful bellman, Erick, who delivered our bags immediately, to the delicious stone oven pizza and margaritas Oceanside to start our vacation. Fantastic! St. Trop’s hostess, Kenya, and the staff, were so kind and caring, beach drinks ever flowing from server Fausto, and awesome massage at Spa del Mar by Alejandra, made it an absolute pleasure to stay at Sandos.

  Best all-inclusive experience ever!

  Sandos Cancún was a fabulous experience! All of the food from hibachi to the Mexican buffet and St. Trop pizza was delicious. Breakfast buffet was consistently fresh and high quality every morning. Beaches were beautiful and the lounge chairs were very comfortable. Lots of towels available for use everyday. The pool was always fun - Alex and Paula know how to throw a party. The rooms were clean and comfortable and well kept by staff. Carlos was an amazing concierge who booked reservations for our party for dinner for us every night so we did not have to worry about doing it ourselves. He also helped me pull off the surprise of a lifetime and propose to my fiancé on the terrace overlooking the beach. He added thoughtful touches like cheesecake for us to enjoy and balloons on top of the beautiful set up. He checked in on us throughout our stay to make sure we were having a good time. He’s the best!
