  Spectacular Service and Fantastic Food

  We have been to this property before and are consistently impressed with the level of service provided and the quality of the food. We will continue to travel here as often as we can.

  Exuberant, Excellent and Spectacular Resort

  This was our first time in Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya. We were Home Away from Home, never knowing what to expect, was an awe dropping experience. Never knew that such a beautiful place as Secrets existed. From the time we were met at the airport to the time we had to leave was an unexpected experience of humility. The drivers, ushers, restaurant waiters and the waitresses and the whole staff at the resort. We fell in love with all the care that they extended to us. We had an exceptional female concierge, Karina 9C. She went above and beyond with little details to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. I can not express how very Heart warming it was to have been at Secrets Akumal. Loved seeing all the beautiful smiling faces every single day. So much humbleness. We will certainly consider returning to Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya.

  One of the Best Resorts on the Planet

  One of the best resorts on the planet. I challenge anyone to find better customer service. The service level is real and "From the Heart". The rooms are fantastic and views are excellent. The Food & Beverage product is over the top. Francisco our concierge was on top of everything and gave us great daily updates on WhatsApp and was easy to reach. Mario, Carlos and Sarai in the Preferred Lounge knew our needs before we did. Jose at the beach was the best. Jazmin in Portofino gave us wonderful service and a great outdoor table. Luisa and Oscar in the SPA know their product and take such great care of the customer. Great snorkeling right in front of the resort, wonderful variety of day and evening activities. The "Silent Dance" with headphones was a ton of fun. Great active and quiet pools and seating for everyone. You could stay as busy as you want or just sit and relax. Secrets Akumal does the all-inclusive product so well. It's like a high end cruise ship that doesn't leave port. You will love this resort!!!

  A wonderful trip for 2 couples to get away from snow

  Location is amazing, BUT its a very LONG bus ride from Cancun airport. hoping our next trip we can fly into the new tulum airport as it will be a much shorter bus ride! Atmosphere is relaxing and peaceful. you can wander the jungle like paths and not see another person at times. Rooms are lovely comfie and clean. The floor can be very slippery when wet. The tub while lovely and deep is very hard for people with knee issues to get into and out of. Grab bars or a change to the tubs would be helpful. Noise level was fine. The music at the quiet pool is to be relaxing but really no music would be nice. The water entry into the ocean is nice and slow and it does not get deep overly fast. Wonderful white sand beach! There can be rocky bits in the ocean but just move slowly. The staff is amazing have great memories for names! and very attentive at the pool the buffet or the restaurants. Having a concierge at your building is wonderful. Very helpful for booking the meals and the swim with the turtles. Book the turtle swim asap as it does fill up fast. The swim with the sea turtles you can book on site is AMAZING well worth doing! I saw many turtles , a sting ray and lots of fish! LOVE the policy that you can NOT hold a chair all day . as per the posted info on the boards near the beach and pools you can not hold a chair more then 40 mins and the staff will clear away items left on chairs to hold a chair all day. The food over all is wonderful. Book your "needs reservation" meals the first day you arrive. The soups could be hotter. but the fancy pour they do for you and the shallow bowels make the soup cool off fast. The butter kept on ice means it does not spread on the wonderful buns at all. Even left to warm up it just would not spread. The piano in the French restaurant needs tuned badly. The mix on the drinks can be hit and miss depending on which bar they come from but over all great drinks. Try the drinks of the day. both alcohol free and mixed drinks. As we had been to this resort 2 years ago at the same time of year, its standing the test of time. But the jungle feel was more jungle like, it is getting very full. Rooms that had a view over the resort 2 years ago now are in the tree tops. The only rooms to not see trees would be 4/5 floors unless you have booked ocean view at the very front of the resort. We stayed in building 8 last visit and building 7 this visit. Nice and close to the coffee shop and many of the restaurants. (the steak house, outdoor pizza space and oceanana sea food place are near the beach as well as a couple bars) There are daily activities but we did not attend them. There was 2 nights of markets where venders from off site do come to sell items. There are nightly outdoor shows often with a meal (buffet style) and there is the indoor shows too. The jungle feel at the "back of the resort " near the lobby makes it feel like 2 resorts . The quiet pool is there, Then there are 2 pools and the ocean towards the front beach area, that area is more open Even being all inclusive we did still tip the staff for a great job.

  Great Resort ... You will not be disappointed !

  This resort did not disappoint; everything was absolutely fantastic. What every review says is true we could not think of one bad thing. Food was fantastic, grounds are absolutely beautiful.... we choose it for the "jungle" feel and it did not disappoint. We may have gotten lost a few times at night; especially after coming from the sports bar and watching the Bills game .... BTW Alex at the sports bar was awesome. There probably were at least 75+ people there watching the game and he was awesome. All the Tv's were on with sound. Service was great for probably not expecting the crowd. We did preferred ocean view... our room was beautiful; very clean and bar was fully stocked everyday ... along with extra requests that were filled every day. Pool / beach is beautiful ... there is something for everyone. We went to the beach bar later everyday. Loved the swings and Bernardo ! He was awesome our drinks were never empty. If you want to snorkel with the turtles look for Victor on the beach (usually stands at the beach front near the beach bar). We did the private tour $40 each ... fantastic. If you are a good swimmer ask your guide to take you to the reef; you won't be disappointed. All the food was fantastic. Loved all the different lunch options at the pool everyday. Only thing I did not like; one of the pool concierge are a little pushy / rude about the chairs. I get that they do not want people saving chairs and not coming back for hours; but there was one "pool boy" at the infinity pool that took his job way to serious. If you did not tell him you were leaving for lunch or a walk on the beach; your stuff was getting moved or you were explained the rules again. Again on one person (he took care of the chairs closer to Bldg 1 # 3. needless to say we didn't sit there again .... the concierges on the other side were so friendly and nice. Also we did the water workout with Ari ... it was so much fun and we didn't fall off the mat. Overview all a beautiful resort ... will be coming back for sure.
