Secrets Akumal was outstanding! The level of service from everyone at the resort was impeccable. The location was spectacular, the food was amazing and I cannot recommend this resort enough.

Wonderful
Our week was absolutely amazing! We had a swim up preferred room. I would highly recommend the preferred club. The staff is amazing there, check in and out was super-fast and easy. Our concierge was so helpful and nice. All the staff at the resort was fantastic and so attentive! We have been to many Secrets Resorts and Akumal is now our favorite! The food and drinks were absolutely incredible. I would say the only thing that could have improved our stay was the pool water could be warmer, especially our swim up pool.

Great, great resort
Great, great Resort My wife and I went to Secrets Akumal for her birthday January 20-27, 2026. I’ve visited a lot of all inclusive resorts over the years but this resort is the best I’ve ever been to. The grounds are in a lush, tropical paradise. The whole resort is clean and immaculate. The staff works very hard in keeping the area looking great. The food is the best. I had read all of the reviews on Trip Advisor and how complimentary they were about the food, but you have to visit this place to believe how good it is. I ate at every restaurant except one and could not find one place that wasn’t exceptional. Even foods that you thought would be ordinary would be so good. I got some pizza at the Market Buffet for lunch and thought it would be so so like you usually get at buffets. It was possibly the best I’ve ever had. They also had specialty meals outside of the pool area every day for lunch as well as having outdoor meals at night with entertainment. The entertainment was very good. The workers at the resort were very attentive to your needs and would go out of their way to be helpful. They were always smiling and happy like they really enjoyed their job and wanted to make you happy. There were so many workers that I could mention that were exceptional at their service but I can’t list everyone of them. There was one that made our trip so much easier for us. Each building that has the guest rooms had their own concierge. Ours was Annie Michel. This special young lady took care of our every need. She always did it with a smile on her face and acted happy to see us even though I know their were times she would’ve liked for us to leave her alone. The service and the food were the best. Secrets Akumal Rivera Maya is a wonderful 5* resort.
Secrets Akumal Rivera Maya is a wonderful 5* resort. From easy checkin, 3 large pools, 7 restaurants, many optional free activities, nightly shows, excellent pool and beach wait staff. Our concierge Jose Mejia (for our building 9) was so friendly, full of daily tips, helped us make dinner reservations and so friendly! It was a fantastic resort. We loved the multiple 30” poolside classes, paddle boarding opportunities and just enjoying the beach and pool areas. All the staff were friendly and helpful. It was easy to snorkel right off the beach. Loved being far away from the busy Cancún away.

Gorgeous resort with top-notch service
My husband and I had a fantastic time at Secrets Akumal! It’s been on our list for a while, and we’re so glad we finally went. The resort itself is beautiful, but the service is what truly made it stand out—everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. Special shout-out to Eduardo and Ivan at the swim-up bar, and Sharon at Pool 2 for the amazing service all week! Also—Luis, our server at the main pool, and Luis, our concierge. One thing we really appreciated was that the resort never felt crowded. There was always plenty of space at the pools and beach, which made the whole experience feel even more relaxing. We also loved that you could choose the vibe you wanted for the day—whether that was hanging out at the “quiet” pool for a more peaceful, laid-back atmosphere or spending time at the main pool for a more active, lively experience. We didn’t get a chance to try all of the restaurants, but we really enjoyed the ones we did. The pool-side pop-up meals (both lunch and dinner) were probably our favorite. Room service was also excellent and arrived quickly every time we ordered. Be sure to check out the nightly shows—they have some very talented performers! The entertainment team also does a great job during the day, with plenty of activity options at the pools and on the beach if you’re interested. Overall, it was a wonderful, relaxing vacation and we would absolutely return.
