  EXCELLENT

  We have stayed at this 3x, we are very impressed with this hotel . The staff are wonderful- each day , they are smiling and greeting you with a hello . Alejandro, Sinia, DiDi and Mac in entertainment did such a wonderful job - very personable and fun to be around . The volleyball court is great , perfect setup and usually plenty of people to play - Olinda, Eliazar and Maricela in breakfast buffet was top notch , love the energy . Noemi , Yesenia and Alfonso at Hitmisu restaurant were so nice and welcoming ! The food here is our fav !! Lots of options - Henry , beach waiter was great ! Johana and Diego in Preferred Lounge very helpful ! Viktor is Mexican restaurant was excellent!!! Esteban in gym was very helpful and friendly . Eddie and Jazmin in Italian restaurant were wonderful, so helpful getting us a table last minute !! Metz, our concierge was over the top good , she helped us with all our questions- the landscape here is gorgeous, lush , green everywhere and they are constantly working on it ! Right in the beach , where we like to run and you can go either direction on beach to run , feel very comfortable- beautiful scenery ! Preferred Lounge is the way to go , great snack items & some of the best white chocolate/ my reason to go !! We swam with the turtles , used Johnny on the beach who helped us reserve - David was our guide and it is a family business that they take very seriously! Definitely recommend! Saw several turtles and sting rays !! Lots of fish ! Would recommend staying here !!!

  Best Vacation and 50th Birthday in Paradise

  We had the pleasure of spending two absolutely wonderful weeks at the beautiful Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya from January 24, 2026, to February 7, 2026. It was truly the best vacation and the most unforgettable 50th birthday celebration in paradise. We chose this hotel because I was celebrating my 50th birthday, and we wanted to try something completely new and special. We have stayed many times in Mexico at Secrets Maroma Beach and also several times in the Dominican Republic at Secrets Cap Cana Resort & Spa. For this milestone birthday, we decided to visit Secrets Akumal for the very first time — and it was the perfect choice. We stayed in the Preferred Club, Building 3, room 3306. Our room was absolutely beautiful, impeccably clean, and offered a breathtaking view of the garden and the sea. It was cleaned meticulously every single day — even twice daily — exactly as we are accustomed to at Secrets. The minibar was always fully stocked with delicious treats. From the very first moment, the entire property — especially the garden — completely enchanted us. Every day we smiled because even after several days, we still had not fully memorized all the pathways between the different areas. Each day we encountered wonderful animals in the garden. It was so magical that one could easily spend the entire day there. We travel frequently all over the world, but we have never seen such a stunning garden. It truly feels like a jungle. The beach is not very wide, but it is absolutely breathtaking and cleaned beautifully every day. The water is a magnificent Caribbean blue, calm and without waves. Even in ankle-deep water, you can already see beautiful fish. We felt honored to stay at a hotel located on a beach where tourists book day trips specifically to snorkel with the incredible sea turtles and explore the breathtaking underwater world. Although the hotel was well booked, the beach never felt crowded, and we always found a wonderful spot. Beach vendors walk along the shore, but they are extremely polite, never pushy, and very friendly. It was truly a pleasure to support them with our purchases. There are also tour guides on the beach offering snorkeling trips with the turtles. We were incredibly lucky with ours — we were completely alone, far away from the larger tourist groups. We saw many sea turtles and stunning tropical fish, and our guide explained each species in detail. It was absolutely magical — you simply need to find the right guide. The beach is perfect for long walks, where you can admire the beautiful pelicans. Every morning we began our day at the Coco Café, where you can enjoy excellent coffee and snacks 24 hours a day — which is especially convenient when leaving early for an excursion.It was truly incredible — from the second day on, they already knew exactly which coffee we enjoyed. We did not even have to place our order; it was prepared for us with a warm smile as soon as we arrived. This level of attentiveness and personal service made us feel so special and genuinely cared for. As Preferred Club guests, we had two wonderful breakfast options: the main restaurant with its magnificent and extensive buffet, and a private poolside restaurant where you can order à la carte. Both were phenomenal and left nothing to be desired. We never used the lunch buffet in the main restaurant or the pool restaurant because every day there was an amazing themed outdoor buffet by the pool. You could also order delicious food directly to your sunbed or enjoy excellent pizza. Due to unusually cool evening temperatures, we did not visit the open-air restaurants Oceana and Seaside. However, in addition to the fantastic evening restaurants, there were beautiful themed parties with entertainment and buffets at the pool every night. We are quite selective when it comes to food, but the cuisine in every restaurant — breakfast, lunch, and dinner — was outstanding. Every dish was prepared exactly to our requested level of doneness. The evening shows in the theater were exceptional and dreamlike, and the themed evenings in the garden were equally impressive. You can end the evening at the elegant lobby bar with its fire pit, at the disco, or in the Preferred Club Lounge, where you can enjoy small snacks with excellent cocktails. We even spent lovely and fun domino evenings there when it was chilly. A heartfelt thank you to everyone working at the beach — from the waiters to the beach attendants — who work so hard every day and fulfill every wish with a smile. Our concierge was a wonderful young lady who fulfilled every single request we had. We are deeply grateful to her — she does her job beautifully. We would like to thank all the staff members who worked at the hotel between January 24 and February 7, 2026. Although we remember many names, we prefer not to mention only some, as it would be unfair to those whose names we unfortunately did not remember Dear management, based on the details in this review, you know who we are — and you know who was working during that time. Therefore, from the bottom of our hearts and souls: a huge thank you to everyone who made this vacation so magical for us. I especially thank you for my unforgettable 50th birthday. Thank you to everyone who made my special day so extraordinary. Thank you for the many different cakes and desserts. A very special thank you for preparing my favorite cake, “Tres Leches,” exclusively for me on my birthday — simply incredible. Thank you to the wonderful photographer who took breathtaking photos of me in the garden and on the beach. Thank you to the beach team for the magical afternoon with delicious drinks and cake served directly to our sunbed. Thank you to the Italian restaurant for organizing such a joyful and delicious birthday evening, for the singing, and for the heartfelt congratulations. We are also grateful for the wonderful conversations every day at the beach and for helping us improve our Spanish — especially with authentic Mexican expressions. Thank you to the fantastic entertainment team for the Spanish lessons, turtle painting, and the amazing guacamole class. Thank you to the Barracuda Bar for the daily Tequila Time and the Maya language lesson — you are simply wonderful. We rarely have had so much fun. Once again, we want to emphasize: we know many names, but unfortunately we do not know the names of the gardeners who keep the grounds so immaculate, the chefs who prepare such delicious meals, the housekeeping staff who keep everything spotless, and all the waiters who served us so wonderfully throughout our stay. Please do not feel forgotten — you are all amazing. When we checked in and mentioned that we had stayed at many different Secrets resorts, we were told with a warm smile that this would become our favorite one. At that moment, I must admit, I did not immediately believe it. However, after two unforgettable weeks, we can truly say that they were absolutely right. This hotel has taken a truly special place within us and will remain there forever. To the entire hotel: thank you so very much. We promise we will definitely return.   Excellent

  This is pure luxury and probably the best resort we’ve stayed at. Staff are attentive and very friendly. Location is excellent. Rooms are beautiful. Food and drinks are exceptional. We loved the cafe ! We’ve had an amazing holiday here and highly recommend.

  An incredible 40th birthday we'll never forget.

  From beginning to end, the resort & it's staff was absolutely incredible The welcome we received as we checked-in, the greetings we received during the entire stay as we walked around the property, the attentive servers & bartenders, the delicious food, drinks & snacks, the constant attention my husband received because of his birthday, & even the people we met while we were there that now we can call friends. It was an incredible experience & we truly cannot wait to be back again!! Shout out to Francisco who checked us in... Our building concierge, Karina, who always checked in to ensure we were getting everything we could possibly wish for + adding special birthday surprises in our room... The Sommelier, Alberto, who personally made our dining experiences so so special... The chef at Seaside Grill, Luis, who personally delivered an incredible meat platter on my husbands birthday for lunch... Jonas & Sinai, from the Entertainment Team, who constantly made sure we were having a good time, kept us laughing & made us special handmade sea turtles to take back to our kids... Guillermo, our Hibachi chef who was SO talented, funny & entertaining. The list could go on. A sincere, "thank you" for everything.

  Great Resort!!

  My wife and I stayed at Secrets from January 27th-February 10th. It was an amazing stay. The location was perfect! Quiet being in the jungle. The rooms were great! Very spacious and kept clean and in good repair. The bed was very comfortable. We had great service from the front desk at check in to our concierge Gina. We had a great housekeeper Neydy who kept our room very tidy. Some of the staff that really stood out and made our trip extra special were Carlos at the Restaurant El Patio, Patricia at the Oceana restaurant, Freddy at the lobby bar, Ana and Eduardo at the Halftime bar, Damian at the Seaside restaurant and Antonio a pool concierge. I know that I don't have everyone's name that made our stay at Secrets amazing and for this I am sorry but truly our stay at this resort will be unforgetable. The view of the ocean from the pools and beach were amazing! The staff do an amazing job keeping the beach area tidy. We never had an issue finding a place to site at the beach or the pool. We hope to visit this amazing resort again soon! Kevin and Annette P.
