    Precious memories

Gary and I had an excellent experience and enjoyed our time at Hyatt Zilara. We would highly recommend it for a well rounded time of fun and indulgence. The buffet was great for all meals and I'm one who doesn't prefer buffets! The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The atmosphere was one of opulence and we felt very pampered throughout the resort. We would also recommend the nighttime views in the hammocks! The resort beach at sunrise is where I became a fiance'e and will always have precious memories! Kudos to all who made our stay special!

    Massive Disappointment

Our experience at this resort was a massive disappointment, defined by aggressive upselling and a complete lack of basic comfort. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the staff’s priority was not ensuring we had a great stay, but rather squeezing more money out of us. The "Upsell" Culture Instead of being welcomed or shown how to navigate the amenities we had already paid for, we were immediately bombarded with sales pitches for a "vacation club" and various upgrades. It is incredibly off-putting to be treated like a sales lead the second you step onto the property. I have stayed at many other all-inclusive resorts that place every guest on a level playing field regarding food and amenities; here, you are made to feel like a second-class citizen unless you’re buying into their schemes. Maintenance Negligence The first two days of our trip were miserable due to a broken AC. When we called maintenance the first night, we were told the unit was "fine" simply because the fan was blowing. Apparently, the staff here doesn’t understand the difference between moving air and actual cooling. I reported it again the next morning, hoping the daytime engineering team would fix it while we were out. Despite the front desk assuring me it was repaired, we returned to a room that was sweltering and humid. I had to insist on a third visit. It wasn't until a technician actually used proper instruments to gauge the temperature—rather than just holding a hand in front of a vent—that they admitted it was broken. The repair wasn’t finished until 9:00 PM on our second night. Final Verdict Between the broken AC and the constant pressure to spend more money, we spent more time stressed and uncomfortable than we did relaxing. If you value your time and want a true "all-inclusive" feel without being hounded by salespeople, stay elsewhere.

Wonderful Resort with kind staff and fun activities

We really enjoyed our stay at Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya. We were celebrating my birthday, and the entire staff does a wonderful job helping you feel special for celebrations with decorating the room and special birthday desserts. I enjoyed the offers at the Zen spa, we chose to do the hydrotherapy which was invigorating and the landscape is very relaxing and calming. The room was very nice, the lighting and space were superb. We found everyone from the front desk staff to the bartenders to restaurant staff to be very kind and helpful! We truly appreciate them for making it a nice experience. We enjoyed the smaller resort with areas to chat with other guests. The activities were wonderful - Mar and Femin were wonderful entertainment staff. The walk to the cenote was so cool. I enjoyed the DJ at the pool and morning yoga. I understand most of the guests are above our age group, but I really enjoyed the young vibes that they brought. I loved the variety of drink choices with fresh fruit in some of the options. Nelson was a wonderful bartender at the pool bar and helped with wonderful birthday celebrations for me and my friend. The only negatives was the ocean - the entire coast seems to be covered in seagrass/kelp. I know it isn't the resort fault, but just something to keep in mind when traveling. Otherwise, the beach was well maintained with soft sand, nice chairs and umbrellas and bartenders that cater to you out there as well. The food was also not our favorite - we felt like the breakfast buffet was lacking in flavor and perhaps quality over quantity would help this area. The other restaurants were better, but we wish the hibachi option had been available. We also weren't aware the some pool chairs were members only, which was a tad disappointing since we haven't visited a Hyatt resort before. We assume this knowledge of the higher end perks comes with time and experience. I found the wildlife to be interesting, I know other guests were a bit grouchy when it came to the coatis, but we were totally fine with it as we are in their environment. Overall, it was a wonderful trip to Riviera Maya with an all inclusive resort to celebrate and relax, as well as eat and drink, and most of all, we enjoyed being in the lovely country of Mexico. Thank you!

Great Place for a Group of Friends

About 40 minutes from the Cancun airport. This was a great distance to separate us from Cancun proper, but still close, so you aren't traveling all day. The resort is small and adults-only, but it has everything you need. Spacious pool, resort right on the beach, yummy drinks, and good food. If I had to say anything was lacking, it would be the food. That is me being extra picky, though. I could have eaten fish tacos every day. I do not drink alcohol, and I appreciate all the options there were for me to enjoy. The resort was clean with excellent and attentive staff. The rooms were spacious, and the housekeeping did a great job adding those extra touches each day. Definitely a resort I would go to again with friends.
