Our first time at Secrets. Beautiful people and place. Our second night we went to their Asian restaurant “Spice”. Wow!!! Mind blowing. Not that the other restaurants are sub par by any means, but this place is fantastic. From the moment we met our hostess Vanessa, we felt very welcomed and at home. We sat at our table and were immediately greeted by Jesús who took us under his wing and made our whole experience come together. All we had to do was tell him our allergies and put our trust in him. He asked is to place our trust with him to put together our meal. He made our evening!! But the true star of the night was Chef Santiago!! What a culinary delight. We were absolutely delighted with the culinary excellence he provided. The food was fantastic. I don’t eat seafood and there were a couple items on the ”prix fixe” menu put together by Jesús that contained salmon. One was a fried wonton with cooked salmon and one was a uramaki roll. I was hesitant at first, not wanting to offend Jesús because he was so excited to make our evening unforgettable, and decided to take one for the team. Chef Santiago is a gastronomic master! I ate more fish in one night (not very much by normal standards albeit) than I have ever had in my life. And I LIKED it!! Far too often does the praise not fall on the back of the house, but Chef Santiago has truly found his calling. We are here for a week and already look forward to multiple visits to see how he can further open my eyes. The entire experience has just made an amazing vacation unbelievably better. Shout out to everyone we encountered. Vanessa, Jesús and especially Chef Santiago…..just, wow!! Thank you so much for making our decision to come here the right one and making our night, and vacation in general. Highly recommend coming to Secrets Huatulco and “Spice” is a must go to for your dining pleasure. Can’t heap enough praise on this amazing crew. Thank you sooooo much to everyone at the resort and “Spice” in particular. Especially Chef Santiago. Chefs kiss to you my friend!!

Mellow, beautiful, fun resort with delicious restaurants
This resort is the best - mellow, delightful, beautiful, with great activities (sailing, paddle boarding, snorkeling, yoga, etc.) and great food! I highly recommend. I would like to specifically thank some the staff who went even further above and beyond... Aimee (Yoga), Alejandro & Antonio (activities)! What an awesome vacation!

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights, and in 30 years of traveling abroad, we’ve never experienced anything like this. We arrived Wednesday and were greeted at the Preferred Club, which is supposed to offer an elevated experience. There was no cold beer, and we were promised a welcome bottle of tequila for our room. It never arrived. The next morning, we discovered the hotel was remodeling the entire first floor. It felt like we were the only people staying on our floor. There was construction material and workers coming in and out of the rooms. Thursday night, we found a notice on our door saying our room would be fumigated Friday from 9am–3pm and that we had to remain out for 2 hours afterward. We avoided our room all day and waited until 4pm, only to return to a strong chemical smell and a room that had not been cleaned at all. Despite being told there would be a deeper cleaning due to the fumigation. We spoke with multiple staff and supervisors, but were repeatedly told that because we booked through Expedia, they could do nothing. Including our request for a refund for the day we essentially lost. Two hours before checkout, they finally delivered the tiny tequila bottle with no apology or any effort to address what happened. Once again during check out, there was no cold beer, so much for the Preferred Club. This experience was incredibly disappointing and put a significant strain on our vacation. Read less
