  Some issues in the room

  The room had a couple of issues. The switch of the hot tub was broken and the under counter light was fell off in the bathroom. There was water leaking from the ceiling and the paddle on the floor got bigger every day. The maintenance person came but didn’t solve any of them. We can say a lot of good things about the resort like the view from the room, GM’s table experience, the poolside service, the varieties of the restaurants etc but the room we had was a disappointing especially the hot tub we couldn’t use because the water temp was too hot or not warm enough.

  Amazing Experience at Impressions

  My wife and I loved our stay at Impressions Isla Mujeres. We celebrated our anniversary and were very happy with the resort and it's great hospitality. Specifically, our butlers Amy and Zelma were gracious hosts who attended to our every needs at all times of the day. Our stay was made even more pleasant, peaceful and enjoyable because of their presence and attentiveness. The views on the beach and the food were the other standouts from our stay. We especially enjoyed Spezia and Wildfire, the best tuna tartar we've ever had!

  Perfect birthday getaway

  Just returned from my second visit in a year. Request ***Zelma and David*** to be your butlers. They are the best! They made me feel incredibly pampered during my entire trip but especially on my birthday. When there was a minor communication snafu regarding booking an upgraded room, management outdid themselves in making up for it, way beyond what I would have reasonably expected. I would spend a week here every month if I could! My only gripe, not even worth knocking off a star, is that our ocean front honeymoon suite was directly underneath the balcony one of the restaurants. We could hear chairs being scraped back and forth which can be annoying if you’re a particularly early to bed/early to rise type of person. If you book one of these, ask to be put on the south side of the building.

  Our second visit

  We stayed at Impression Isla Mujeres from August 29 to September 5. We visited last year and loved it so much that we decided to return again this year. First, the highlight of our stay was the exceptional service from our butlers, Amainari (Amy) and Zelma. They were always on point, caring, attentive, and genuinely made sure we were well taken care of. Their attention and kindness made our stay so much more enjoyable. Thank you, Amy and Zelma! The bar service throughout the resort was also excellent. We especially enjoyed Sharks, the lobby bar, and the UNIK bar. The staff were friendly and the service was consistently great. We also really enjoyed Cacao, the 24-hour café and snack bar. It was such a nice place to stop by anytime for coffee, drinks, snacks, or something small to eat. The convenience and service there were definitely appreciated. Our dining experiences at Wildfire Steakhouse, Spezia Italian, Sake Japanese, and Mercado for poolside lunch were all very good. We enjoyed both the food and service. Unfortunately, UNIK restaurant was a completely different experience for lunch and dinner. Breakfast was good, but lunch and dinner were very disappointing. The service was disorganized and extremely slow—we waited more than 40 minutes for our food. We also ordered specific drinks but were served something completely different. These are drinks we have regularly at home, so we know both the appearance and taste. If something isn’t available, we are perfectly happy to be told and offered another option. What we didn’t appreciate was being served something different and having it presented as what we had ordered. That left a very poor impression, especially at a resort of this level. We also noticed that the pool concierge service they had last year was no longer available. Since Impression is promoted as an unlimited, privileged luxury experience, it felt like there had been some cutbacks compared with our previous stay. Unfortunately, our final experience at the Impression dedicated waiting area at Marina Hacienda was probably the most disappointing way to end our vacation. There were two staff members there. The bellboy was very helpful and pleasant, but the lady working at the desk did not greet or even acknowledge us. I needed to use the restroom and asked to use the bathroom in the dedicated Impression waiting area, but I was told to use the public marina washroom instead. The condition of that washroom was absolutely horrible and extremely unsanitary. I was very surprised that guests staying at a luxury resort, while waiting in its dedicated area, would be sent to a public restroom in that condition rather than allowed to use the available guest facilities. It was a very unpleasant last impression after a week at the resort. There are many excellent luxury resorts in Mexico, and at this level, we believe customer service can make or break the entire experience. Overall, there are still so many things and wonderful people at Impression that we truly appreciate. We love the property and there are many reasons we would like to return again. At the same time, compared with our visit last year, some of the small service cuts and declining experiences are concerning. We came back this year because of how much we loved our first stay. We sincerely hope these issues are addressed, because while we would love to return again, the decline in certain areas does make us hesitate when planning our next trip.

  Believe the Hype. It’s Even Better in Person

  I honestly can’t say enough good things about this resort. My partner and I came to celebrate my birthday, and we absolutely fell in love with this place. It exceeded our expectations and then some. I researched this resort A LOT before booking. I looked at reviews, watched reels, saw all the beautiful pictures, and I can honestly say it really is everything you see online and more. The attention to detail is incredible, and everything feels very premium and effortless. One of my favorite things was that it never felt crowded. I’ve been to all-inclusives where you have to wake up early to claim a decent chair or pay extra for a cabana or daybed. Here, everything was complimentary, and we never had trouble finding a beautiful place to relax with an amazing view. There are enough pools and different areas that you can have privacy and feel like you’re on a romantic getaway, while still having opportunities to socialize and meet people. We did a little of both and loved it. The food was AMAZING, especially for an all-inclusive. Spezia, the Italian restaurant, was definitely our standout. And please do yourself a favor and order the steak sandwich from the 24-hour room service. I wish I had ordered it every night lol. Our butlers, Leo and Eric, were amazing and made my birthday so special. They checked on us every day and were always available if we needed anything. We also especially loved Miguel at the rooftop pool/bar. Once he learned our drink order, he would literally find us by the pool and bring us another round before we even had to ask. That kind of service really sums up the experience here. The rooms were beautiful, the water was crystal blue, and we saw some of the best sunsets I’ve ever seen. Even getting to the resort, which seemed like it might be a whole journey when I was planning, ended up being surprisingly easy. Everything from our luggage to transportation was handled for us. There was also plenty to do: yoga, sound baths, ceviche-making, candle-making, nighttime shows and more. The entertainment staff was lovely. If you’re looking for a huge party resort, this probably isn’t that, but that was perfect for us. We still went into town one night for karaoke and a club, so you can definitely find nightlife on the island when you want it. We loved this place so much that we actually looked at their wedding packages while we were there because we would love to come back and get married here. That probably says it all. We will absolutely be returning. Highly, highly recommend.
