Best Hotel Arrival on the Planet
Memorable from the moment we stepped onto the Catamaran! Impressions Isla Mujeres wins "Best Arrival at a Hotel" hands down. Greeted by a smiling and waving line of staff, check. Handed a warm towel to refresh my face, and a mocktail to refresh my palate, check. Given a guided tour of the hotel by our butler that ended at our Oceanfront room, check. It was a 5 star beginning to a 5 star stay! Our butlers Wedinzon and Vianey were friendly, engaging and extremely helpful. They guided us through every step of the way and made sure we were excellently cared for. We had never stayed anywhere with butler service, and were intimidated by the idea going in. But they allayed any fears we had and added value to our time. One of the best ways they served us was by getting us all the supplies we needed to safely pack some bottles of liquor we wanted to bring back - which made it all the way home with no issues. The views: stunning. The snorkeling off the pier: fantastic. The food, excellent, as was the spa (we enjoyed massages and facials). The wait staff by the pools was always friendly as well. At only 125 rooms, it felt very bespoke and boutique. One of the best aspects for us was the young man in charge of entertainment named Frankie! We met him on our second night while they had a live salsa band. We wanted to learn how to salsa and he jumped right in, leading many couples and even a whole gang of us in all the steps that made the night one to remember. But that wasn't it, the next night at the silent disco he and his team were super fun, and on and on. He was such a friendly and endearing person that we instantly became friends. The one aspect of this Impressions hotel that we could have lived without was the overwhelming programming of New Age spiritualism that was woven into most all of the entertainment. Morning workouts included guided mediations. Instead of a cocktail class it was a cocktail class with spiritual guidance. Instead of live music by the roof top pool, it was live music with tarot card reading, palm reading and crystal sorting. In our opinion, this is a big miss on the part of the management. We've stayed at 5 star hotels across Europe, the US and the Caribbean and this is the first we have ever encountered something so exclusive of people of other religions or faiths. Perhaps this is an attempt at "wellness" but it misses the mark. That aside, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We booked through the American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts platform and were treated to some very nice upgrades and amenities. We highly recommend going that route if it is available to you.

Lack of transparency
Been traveling to Isla Mujeres for 18 years. This was my wife and I’s first time visiting this property. We purchased a rooftop day pass. The good: the place is stunning. Our” host” Gil was amazing. He really looked after us. Made us feel welcome and went above and beyond. The other server we had was accommodating as well. The bad: The Lack of Transparency. I wanted to make sure we knew what we were getting into prior to going so I visited the property a day in advance since I couldn’t find the wine list and the food menu anywhere online. Yes it is an all-inclusive but since we weren’t staying overnight and purchasing a day pass everything was a la carte. The bonus was that you get $100usd to spend when you purchase the rooftop pass for $116usd plus taxes. Sounds good, right? Unfortunately the wine and the food menus that I was initially given (after waiting a half hour) were ultimately not the same we had access to when we went the next day. In fact both were missing prices??These were the all inclusive menus. This made me concerned but Gil reassured me: “don’t worry, everything on the menu for food is like $250 pesos. You won’t go over”. They had the wine we wanted (thankfully) and began to order food as if things were $250 pesos. We also were informed that we had to get all of our orders in by 4pm because that’s when the kitchen closes for a la carte and the $100 usd credit expires at 5pm. Again something I was not told in advance. Closer to 5pm we were told by Gil that his shift was ending and we were introduced to another waiter (we were told we could stay till 10pm with the rooftop pass) who would be looking after us. After we ordered more wine the new “shift leader” told us we had used up all of our credit. I did some math and didn’t think it was right. I was presented the bill and discovered all the food items were not $250 pesos each… they were considerably more. This left a sour taste in my mouth. I just wanted more transparency from the beginning instead I felt like I had been tricked. Would love to go back but this experience wasn’t what we were hoping for. Why not be upfront with the accurate menus that show the real prices??

Everything and more!
This resort is second to none. Wanted to plan a romantic babymoon for my wife and this experience knocked it out of the park. The resort is clean, modern, never feels crowded. The experience is amazing the minute you step on the catamaran. The food top notch. The staff is second to none. Big shout out to Edgar and Amairani for making it an unforgettable experience! We will absolutely be coming back!

Best resort ever
Impressions at Isla Mujeres is one of the best resorts I have ever stayed at. It was very low key and relaxing, and we ever had to worry about a location around the pool. I typically do not plan to go back to the same resorts, but I would go here year after year. I hope to plan a girl's trip to this resort.

Best High End All-Inclusive I Have Ever Been To!!!!
The Impressions resort was beyond words. It was our first all-inclusive resort with just my wife and I, without the kids, and it exceeded ALL of our expectations. The resort was stunning! The food was excellent....and I mean excellent at every restaurant we visited for either lunch or dinner. And the service, was over the top. Our butlers, Zelma and David, were always attentive, and able to accommodate all of our requests, or answer all of our questions. I cannot say enough about the staff at Impressions! Quality quality, quality is all I have to say.
