Wedding Guest - super fun resort
This is a very late review, but I visited Secrets Moxche as a guest for a wedding and would start by saying two things - one, this was my first Secrets experience and two, overall it was a great trip! The resort in gorgeous - still new but seems to be well maintained- good food, surprisingly strong drinks for an all-inclusive - I had no true issues, BUT...this is not a romantic "couples" resort. Holy moly, this place is fun if you're looking for a party but I could not imagine this resort for a honeymoon or intimate anniversary trip. There were tons of groups - weddings, business trips, family reunions, etc. and to sum up the environment, in 3 words I would describe the vibes as modern, party and luxury (they even have a super fun sports bar and speak-easy style night club that keep the party going all night long). This is not a negative by any means, but you need to do your research and know what you are getting into when booking a trip. I've read a few negative reviews on here discussing the groups and overall environment and I truly feel as though those people just selected the wrong resort for their personal preferences, not that there is an issue with the resort itself. If you are looking to book a trip for a family or friends group, I would highly recommend. Some of my favorites of this resort: The main pool right off the beach is the hot spot. It's huge, gorgeous, has a swim-up bar, and right next to multiple food spots so even though it's the furthest from most of the rooms, you can stay local to your spot once you get there. Unfortunately, it can be tough to get a lounger at the main pool (our group did a lot of sharing one area of chairs b/c we spent most of the time in the pool anyway). The Barefoot Grill is a little walk-up lunch/snacks shack that is perfect for a grab and go lunch to bring poolside or wherever you are sitting. Most days, we didn't want to take a break from the pool and go find a sit-down lunch so we just grabbed something quick from the Barefoot Grill and it was perfect! The Coco Café is the perfect little coffee shop - we would often run down to grab a coffee pre-breakfast and bring it back to the room or stop for a midday pick-me-up. It's so much nicer than just a boring coffee bar that some many other resorts/hotels have. Unfortunately, we did not get a chance to try all of the restaurants (mostly because of wedding events), but all of the ones we did try were great. Special shout-out to Suki, which was a favorite in my group. The rooms/accommodations - we went with the most budget-friendly option and was SHOCKED at how nice it still was. The room was huge and I will be talking about that beautiful bathroom for the rest of my life (love the private toilet separate from the shower and the rest of the bathroom). Beds were comfortable and housekeeping did a great job. I truly could not believe this was the "cheapest" room category. A couple of "cons": We had good service from all of our servers, bartenders, desk staff etc. BUT that was it. This resort is HUGE. There are tons of guests so you don't get the above and beyond personal service you may be use to if you've stayed at smaller or more intimate resorts before. For example, I am use to stay at Sandals Resorts (so sorry to compare) where servers and bartenders often walk up to your lounger and ask if you need food or a drink and will bring it back to you or seek you out to check on the quality of your stay. Here, you need to find someone if you need something. This was not a huge deal at all, but something to be aware of going in. The only other "con" in my opinion was tipping. Again, I am use to Sandals resorts, where tipping is not allowed (except for butlers or spa services) and I love not having to worry about carrying cash around the resort. Here, tips are accepted and while, not required, they seemed expected from some staff members. I guess this is just a personal preference, but something to be aware of going in. One final thought for brides considering this resort for your venue - Secrets did an amazing job with the wedding itself and all wedding-related events!! If you are looking for a destination venue that is both gorgeous and fun, you're in the right spot!

Amazing Time at Secrets Moxche!
Our stay at Secrets Moxche in Playa del Carmen was absolutely unforgettable. The resort itself is gorgeous—immaculate grounds, beautiful pools, and a truly luxurious vibe that makes you feel like you’re in paradise. The food? Incredible. Every restaurant we tried was top-notch, with delicious dishes and great variety. But honestly, what really made our trip stand out was the entertainment team. They were the heart and soul of the resort, always bringing energy, fun, and good vibes. Huge shoutout to Sergio, Victor, Cristian, aranza for making everything extra special. From the volleyball games to the nightly shows, they went above and beyond to make sure everyone had an amazing time. If you’re looking for a place that combines relaxation, great food, and fun, Secrets Moxche is it. We’ll definitely be back!

Secrets is different under the Hyatt umbrella, not in a good way.
We are currently here for our anniversary. We have stayed at numerous Secrets resorts over the past 15 years. Secrets is different under the Hyatt umbrella. Secrets has always had a personal touch from the time of arrival to departure. I don’t feel the same here. Check in was chaotic, we told the individual about our anniversary, he said they would do something special for us, nothing so far halfway into the trip. He practically forced us to put an app on our phones to get the room key on our phones. We wanted a hard room key so we didn’t need to take our phones, he didn’t accommodate. We are staying preferred club which includes a munchie area near the check in area. Only appears they stock it early in the day, if you go later in the evening there is nothing. What is the benefit. Food is ok, not a lot of variety in each one. The Italian restaurant is fantastic though. In the original Secrets days you could get a great steak or lobster tail and not have to pay a lot for it. Not so much here, only ribeye offered and not that great. The elevators are always broken which leads to trying to figure out how to get where you want to go using other elevators in a different part of the building. Except for check in the staff is wonderful. The room is top notch. The resort and pools are beautiful. The sand on the beach is great but you can’t really go in the water. Would I come back, I don’t really know at this point.
