  Secrets Mirabel Excellent Choice

  Secrets Mirabel is a diamond in the rough. Great accommodations, food and entertainment. Went with my entire family for our 30th wedding anniversary. Had a vow renewal which was done beautifully.

  Amazing trip!

  This resort was incredible from arrival to departure. Food was delicious in each restaurant we tried. The staff so attentive and friendly. Diego 2.0 and Ari are so fun from the activities group. The location is beautiful and it was very safe. They have security which even checks Ubers in and out and how many are in the car. So impressed with this resort!!

  The people define the enjoyment of your stay, and Secrets Mirabel has some amazing staff.

  Overall we throughly enjoyed our stay, we had a blast with the entertainment team and it made it so much more fun. The only issue we had was mold in our room and they were willing to move us to a different room. This was the only issue with our stay but once I notified the front desk they quickly got it resolved!

  Nice resort .... RIDICULOUS SMOKING POLICY.

  The resort itself was good. And if not for the comment below would have gotten a 4 possibly 5 star. MY BIGGEST BEEF IS WITH THE LACK OF CONSIDERATION GIVEN TO SMOKERS. I GET IT, IT IS NOT A DESIRABLE HABIT AND THAT SOME PROVISIONS LIKE NO SMOKING INSIDE AREAS OR IN THE POOL OR ADJACENT TO NON-SMOKERS IS TOTALLY APPROPRIATE. THOSE SMOKERS THAT LITTER SHOULD BE FINED FOR LITTERING. I FOR ONE LOOK FOR DISPOSAL UNITS OR SIMPLY POCKET MY BUTT UNTIL I FIND ONE. HOWEVER TO RELEGATE SMOKERS TO THE PARKING LOT IS SIMPLY RIDICULOUS. WE REPRESENT GLOBALLY 30% OF THE POPULATION. ADDED TO WHICH I DID NOT FEEL IT WAS SAFE TO BE IN THIS REMOTE LOCATION AND WOULD BE ESPECIALLY CONCERNED IF I WAS A WOMAN AND IT WAS DARK. AS FOR MEXICO AND THIS RIDICULOUS LAW. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO MEXICO DESPITE HAVING BEEN THERE 30 TIMES ENJOYING IT EACH TIME. THERE ARE OTHER PLACES TO GO LIKE THE DR, CAYMANS, ABC ETC THAT HAVE APPROPRIATE ACCOMMODATION AND ARE NOT SO DICTATORIAL. SORRY BUT I DO NOT FEEL LIKE BEING ACCOSTED FOR HAVING A SMOKE ON A SIDEWALK NEXT TO A BUSY ROAD OR ON THE GOLF COURSE WHILE I AM ON MY HOLIDAYS. And before anyone beefs on me for smoking look inwards and consider how your colognes, perfumes and fumes from your gas powered vehicles (I drive EV) impact everyone including the animals that those perfumes/colognes are tested on with great harm to them. I am fairly certain me having a smoke out in the open on a breezy beach is no worse than having to suffer someone who has bathed in perfume sitting at a dining table next to me. My suggestion to management...... re-position the current smoking area to a more SAFE and convenient location and increase the number of them. Otherwise take the risk of turning people off of your resort.

  Beautiful Resort, Amazing Restaurants, but Disappointing Overall Experience.

  We recently spent six nights at Secrets Mirabel Cancún Resort & Spa, staying in the Preferred Club Master Suite Ocean Front Plunge Pool. While the resort itself was beautiful, the food at several restaurants was outstanding, and many employees provided exceptional service, our overall experience fell short of our expectations, especially considering the cost of our stay and the resort’s recent renovations. Room and Private Plunge Pool Our suite was beautiful, but one of our biggest disappointments was the limited sunlight on our balcony and private plunge pool area. The balcony only received direct sunlight until approximately 10:30–11:30 AM. After that, the area was completely shaded for the remainder of the day, making it impossible to sunbathe in our private outdoor space. We specifically booked a suite with a plunge pool because we wanted to enjoy relaxing and sunbathing in the privacy of our room. Unfortunately, we had no idea that the balcony would receive such limited sunlight. I wish this information had been disclosed in the room description before booking. Had we known, we could have requested a room with better sun exposure before arriving. We didn’t realize the issue until our second day, and at that point, changing rooms would have been too much of an inconvenience during our six-night vacation. Another issue was the shower temperature. Every time we showered, the water would suddenly become extremely hot, then extremely cold, before eventually returning to the temperature we had originally selected. This happened repeatedly and was both uncomfortable and concerning. For a luxury resort, we expected better consistency with something as basic as the shower water temperature. Butler and Room Service Our butler, Alfonso, was absolutely wonderful! He was extremely attentive, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. His exceptional customer service deserves recognition, and we truly appreciated everything he did for us. Room service, however, was just okay. It wasn’t particularly impressive compared with the wonderful dining experiences we had at the restaurants. Restaurant Experiences Bordeaux – French Restaurant The food at Bordeaux was amazing! We enjoyed the duck, beef tenderloin, and crème brûlée. Everything was delicious, and this was definitely one of the dining highlights of our vacation. Olio Terrace & Restaurant – Mediterranean Olio was another favorite! The rack of lamb, lobster risotto, hummus, and pizzas were absolutely delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and would highly recommend these dishes. We also visited Olio for breakfast, which was okay but didn’t stand out nearly as much as the dinner offerings. Blue Water – Steakhouse Blue Water really impressed us! The ribeye was cooked perfectly and was incredibly tender. However, the biggest surprise was the pork ribs. They were honestly the best pork ribs I’ve ever had! I was completely surprised by how delicious they were, and I would absolutely love to know the chef’s recipe. They were one of the most memorable dishes of our entire vacation. Market Café – Breakfast and Lunch Buffet Market Café was a typical resort buffet for breakfast and lunch. The food was what we expected from a buffet, but what stood out was the staff. Everyone was extremely friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being overly pushy. We appreciated being able to enjoy our meals in a relaxed atmosphere. Himitsu – Asian/Hibachi Restaurant Himitsu was an absolutely beautiful restaurant, and the food was excellent! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, and the quality of the food was definitely a highlight. Unfortunately, the restaurant has so many windows that the dining area became extremely hot and uncomfortable. Despite how much we enjoyed the food, the heat made it difficult to relax and fully enjoy our dining experience. It was disappointing because the restaurant itself was gorgeous, and the food deserved a much more comfortable atmosphere. Restaurant Staff and Hospitality One thing we genuinely appreciated throughout our stay was the exceptional friendliness of the restaurant staff. The waiters and waitresses were consistently welcoming, professional, and attentive. We never felt rushed or pressured while dining, and their customer service made our meals even more enjoyable. The restaurant employees and Alfonso were definitely among the highlights of our vacation. Uncomfortable Sales Pressure Throughout the Resort One of our biggest frustrations was the constant sales pressure whenever we entered the lobby. It seemed like every time we walked through, someone was trying to sell us something. This became extremely uncomfortable and frustrating because passing through the lobby was unavoidable when heading to the restaurants, buffet, gift shop, or transportation for our excursions. We were there to relax and enjoy our vacation, not to feel like we had to avoid sales conversations every time we walked through the resort. This took away from the relaxing atmosphere we expected from an adults-only luxury property. Overall Experience – Would We Return? We had high expectations for Secrets Mirabel Cancún, particularly because of the recent renovations and the premium suite we booked. There were definitely some wonderful aspects of our stay. The resort was beautiful, Alfonso was outstanding, the restaurant staff were incredibly friendly, and several of our dinners were absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, the limited sunlight in our private plunge pool suite, inconsistent shower temperatures, average room service, uncomfortable heat at Himitsu, and repeated sales pressure left us disappointed with the overall experience. For the amount we paid, we expected a more relaxing and seamless luxury vacation. Would we return? Unfortunately, no. While we truly appreciated the wonderful employees and exceptional dining experiences, the overall resort experience did not meet our expectations. There are simply too many other beautiful resorts to consider for our next vacation.
