    Favorite Secrets so far

We spent two nights at here in May and I wish we would have stayed longer, but we will definitely be back. Upon arrival we were upgraded to a preferred club ocean front room from the preferred club garden view I had originally booked. Beautiful view, clean room, very spacious. They had screens on the door so you could let the ocean breeze in your room without letting the bugs in. In the evening it was cool enough to do so, but the wind made a high pitched noise in the room. The beach was gorgeous, very little sargassum, although our first day the red flag was up. Nonetheless, if you like walking the beach, this is the place for you. Our butlers Eduardo and Eddy both provided excellent service. Food was hit and miss. One night we did the the hibachi table where I discovered I was a fan of vegetarian sushi. The others who had booked it never showed up so it was a show for only my husband and I. But, Gustavo put on a great show despite the lack of a full room. The breakfast buffet had a huge variety and we enjoyed the pizza by the pool. Also the little snack bites offered in the preferred club were really good. They had a bottle of sparkling wine and a chocolate cake in our room since the trip was to celebrate my birthday. The beautiful pools were clean and refreshing (and the butlers provide floaties!). We rented a cabana and the service from Carlos was excellent! The preferred club area was my favorite so far out of all the Secrets we have been to. Open air, nice breeze, good service, lovely quiet pool with lots of chairs and umbrellas. Our first full day was on a Saturday and there were still chairs available by 10:30 even at the social pool. The infinity pool facing the ocean was the one you would have to be an early riser to get a chair. Only one issue that I thought was strange enough to mention. When we turn on the DND light (or if we used the door hanger at other hotels), at every hotel/motel/resort I have ever stayed at, no one has ever bothered us. We were getting ready for dinner Saturday night and our phone rang. My husband thinks they asked us to open the door, but he didn't quite understand. A minute later turn down was knocking at our door asking if we wanted towels. We didn't need towels because maid service had provided all we needed when they cleaned our room earlier. We were not happy about that as we were told the light on means DND and we had to rush to get dressed to answer the door. The bathrooms have a sliding door with gaps and the shower is a very clear glass door, so there is little privacy if someone would have entered the room. Even with that hiccup, this is definitely my favorite Secrets so far. It was very feng shui and we want to come back to experience it more.

They know what they are doing!

Secrets Playa Blanca was THE most incredible hotel I have ever stayed at and my first all-inclusive resort. I was impressed by everything! The staff was very helpful and quick! The atmosphere was on point everywhere we went. It was the best vacation experience I have had.

The all-inclusive for people who are skeptical of all-inclusives

My company hosted an incentive program with 400 attendees at Secrets Playa Blanca; while I would never stay at an all-inclusive in "real life," I was blown away by this property. It is stunningly beautiful, with lush landscaping, elegant rooms and gorgeous pools and beach. Everything is pristine and the service is both impeccable and warm. The property's clever layout means that it never feels too crowded - there are lots of activities at the social pool for those who are interested, but introverts can always find a place to get away from the world. And even the food is really quite good, with a special shoutout for the breakfast and lunch buffets, which offer a ton of healthy options. I ate at El Patio (Mexican), Seaside Grill (casual seafood), Bordeaux (French) and Portofino (Italian) and enjoyed all of the meals with the exception of the bland guac at El Patio. Ask your server for salt, lime and serrano peppers and you should be fine!

    All Inclusive - Loved it

Excellent service, staff, cleanliness, safety, spa, hydrotherapy, gym and restaurants. Highly recommend. Quite with no kids screaming in the pools. Excellent entertainment during the day at the pool and in the evenings in the theater.

Beautiful Resort l- Mediocre Experiences and Food

This is a beautiful resort, brand new. Great views, great rooms, beautiful pools and overall accommodating staff. Nice selection of restaurants but would say the food is mediocre, but better than other all-inclusive resorts I have tried in Mexico. The deserts were tasty and they had good coffee. We were able to catch a couple shows, they were “just okay”, some better than others. There were a few experiences that we did not love but overall met expectations. However, likely to try a different resort next time. As an example, we attended a wedding where one glass was accidentally broken (talking with hands, knocked it over), the hotel charged the bride and groom $20 for the one glass that was broken! For a luxury resort, quite distasteful in my opinion. Things happen, the wedding couple is paying a lot of money to have their wedding there as are all the wedding guests. Could understand if there was some event where there was true damage to property, multiple pieces broken due to a fight or something, but to charge for one glass is crazy. That would be like accidentally breaking a plate at a restaurant and them adding a $20 charge to your bill, somewhat unheard of.
