    Best experience ever

Amazing resort in Costa Mujeres! The staff was incredibly attentive, the property was spotless, and every detail made our stay unforgettable. Highly recommend.

    Needed this one!

Secrets delivers over and over and Secrets Playa Blanca is spectacular. The jungle vibe with the palms and tropical foliage throughout the resort and along the walkways lend it the level of privacy we were looking for. The jungle (quiet) pool was great and just what we like, even though the water isn’t heated. If not at the jungle pool then it’s on the beach by a palapa with two loungers. Every day it’s so easy to walk along the beach either direction however you can go further if you head south along the coastline. The restaurants are phenomenal and our best ones were Seaside Grill and Oceana. Coco Café is to die for for the early morning G hot beverages and pastries. Even had quiche and frittatas there in the morning. The afternoon walk back to the room called for another beverage and pastry. César and Miguel at Coco are so friendly. All of the Coco staff were more than happy to serve you again and again. Hats off to our concierge Julieta who helped us get a tea kettle in our room and sent the days activities on WhatsApp every morning, in addition to what restaurants are closed that day and other useful information. She was also able to get the information for our return transfer to the airport. We would definitely return to Playa Blanca which is on par with Secrets Akumal with the mature jungle vibe.

Beautiful Property and Wonderful Staff, but Several Disappointments

We recently stayed at Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres and had a mixed overall experience. The positives: The resort is new, beautifully designed, and very clean. The beach is stunning, and many staff members were genuinely warm, attentive, and hardworking. Our butlers, Miguel and Daniel, were especially wonderful—kind, responsive, and always ready to assist with a smile. Their service truly stood out and made parts of our stay more enjoyable. However, there were also several disappointments. Despite multiple pre-arrival emails confirming our preferences and Guest of Honor attachment, none of this was acknowledged at check-in. I was initially told there were no upgrades available, and my GOH status was dismissed until I asked twice—only then was an ocean-view room offered. It felt unnecessarily difficult and poorly handled for a resort of this category. Unfortunately, the dining experience was the biggest letdown. Much of the food tasted frozen or low quality. The “catch of the day” had a rubbery texture, the bread tasted like basic grocery-store bread, and the pasta dishes were overcooked with overly heavy sauces. Service at à la carte restaurants was inconsistent, with long delays—our Italian dishes took nearly an hour—and the Pan-Asian restaurant didn’t even offer basic items like hot tea or hot sake. Overall, dinner options were disappointing; surprisingly, the buffet ended up being the most reliable choice. Another negative was the unexpected sales pressure. Despite the hotel overlooking my pre-arrival communications, a sales representative approached me immediately after check-in, pushing promotions, coupons, and requesting my name “because it’s part of their job.” It felt intrusive, especially when I was trying to start a relaxing vacation. Throughout the resort, I noticed many sales staff approaching guests, which created an unnecessary sense of pressure. In summary: Gorgeous beach Beautiful new facilities Exceptionally friendly and hardworking staff But inconsistent service, disappointing food quality, and unwanted sales pressure made the stay less enjoyable We appreciated the kindness of the staff and the beauty of the property, but based on this experience, we would not return or recommend the resort at this time.

    Beautiful Resort

This place was beautiful. Service, atmosphere and quality of the rooms was all excellent. Only a couple areas that needs a bit more work on. First the El Patio Restaurant definitely needs to get a new Chef for sure! The food was awful, the fajitas were dry and old like they sat in a pan for hours. The restaurant is beautiful and the Service was on point the FOOD must go! Also the guests are saving lounges and the staff is not removing guests belongs after 25 mins(they have signs stating this would happen but they do not follow through with the rule) which means we were stuck in the main pool every day with loud annoying music the whole day, that really sucked. The juggle pool area is the only quiet area but has almost all double lounges that you couldn’t use unless you paid 250.00 for the day. These were almost all not used the whole time we were there because no one wants to pay the extra cash to use them. Other then that we had a great time at this beautiful resort
