Nice resort BAD BAD Timeshare Company
We stayed at this resort in December in a swim out suite. The resort was nice, room was great. We upgraded to the oceanfront swim out. We got to see whales and dalphins every day. The food was good at the restaurants but would stay away from the special meals. (Buffet in the yard) Spa was ok. BUT STAY AWAY from the UVA (Unlimited Vacation Club) The whole thing is a scam and they will pull the old bait and switch to take your $$. Don't even go to the presentation. Feels a lot like a Minnesota fraud scam. Take your $$ and get nothing in return but so so resorts at the same price as the internet. We found out later UVC has class action lawsuits against them for shady practices. Our bad for thinking this was part of Hyatt vacation club and if Hyatt has anything to do with this company shame on them for taking advantage of people at a resort with the Hyatt name.

Looking for a deep dive review? Read this one!
We greatly enjoyed our time at Secrets Puerto Los Cabos. If you’re anything like me, you’re probably deep-diving into reviews but rarely write one yourself. Well… here we go. **The Pros** ✅ Weather was incredible - I enjoyed being what-felt a little bit outside of the city and neighboring resorts. ✅The resort is absolutely beautiful—manicured grounds, stunning views, very peaceful. ✅Soft, ambient music is pumped throughout the entire property, which adds to the relaxing vibe. ✅The entertainment staff (think beach/sand volleyball; especially Axel who we all adored) are incredibly friendly and chatty without being pushy. ✅Our poolside wait staff, Salomon, was phenomenal—attentive, kind, and always on top of it. He was the real MVP of our holiday. ✅The rooms were great: comfortable beds, very clean, and spacious bathrooms. ✅A standout experience was the pickleball instructor, Shawn, brought in from Toronto. He made the game approachable, was encouraging and supportive, and genuinely enthusiastic. Truly the perfect type of instructor for a resort setting. 💤 Clientele definitely leans a bit older vs younger. Creating a more relaxing environment than party epicenter — exactly what we were looking for. **The Cons** ❌The main pool bar was often understaffed, typically with only one bartender. Even though wait service was timely, lines at the bar itself were consistently long. ❌Drinks were good, but not great. Our group of six tried nearly everything on the menu, and nothing really stood out. ❌There was a noticeable sewage smell that would occasionally drift through the resort—unfortunate, but it did make for some top-tier people watching. ❌Dinner service requires patience. You’ll be seated quickly, but once seated, expect a very long wait—think multiple hours. ❌This was our first Secrets resort. Would I go again? I’m undecided. After chatting with other guests, we learned that the restaurant names are the same at every Secrets location in Mexico, which takes away some of the regional flair I personally look for when traveling. ❌Food to take back to your room is limited. Aside from Coco Café, there aren’t grab-and-go options. To-go food isn’t really a thing unless you order room service, which typically takes 40–60 minutes. A churro cart, snow cone stand, or something casual would go a long way. ❌Thursday night featured a local artisan market, which was exciting—until we reached the airport and saw many of the same items for less. ❌The nightly shows were varied and interesting, but often leaned a bit cheesy. **The App Experience** Everything runs through the app—dining reservations, activities, room service. Mixed feelings here. For hibachi, reservations open only 24 hours in advance, meaning setting an alarm for midnight and hoping for the best. Our group of six (three couples) all logged on instantly and still couldn’t secure reservations at the same time. Although the hostess attempted to join us all together it was an impossible feat and ended up all skipping our reservations and dining elsewhere as a group. **Helpful Tips** ✈️ Airport transportation: Book Raul in advance and skip the gauntlet of pushy airport salespeople. 📲 Find a Facebook group for the resort. People will often post 1/2 bottles of bug spray, Sunscreen, pool floaties, alcohol, etc that can’t make the trip home. 🧖🏼♀️ Spa services: Wait to book until you arrive. Prices are negotiable at check-in. We were eventually offered one-hour couples massages for $100 per person, though others in our group were quoted different prices. 💰Preferred status: We skipped it. Worth it? Maybe. Did we feel like we missed out? Not at all. **Final Thoughts** We stayed entirely on the resort and truly enjoyed ourselves. It was a wonderful escape from the cold, and while there are areas for improvement, the overall experience was relaxing and memorable. We felt safe; we were kid-free; the weather was warm; and the drinks were cold. Would we return? Possibly—but with adjusted expectations.

Kings and Queens
Wonderful resort. We were treated like royalty all week. This was my husband's first AI and we are already talking about another trip.

Horrible food but lovely property and grounds
The rooms and property were very nice and well maintained. If you consider yourself to have even a small bit of taste when it comes to food then I would not recommend. It was impossible to find anything fresh or healthy and the fine Italian dining was essentially canned tomato sauce and boiled noodles. There are much better all inclusive options close by for the price.

Great resort to relax and get away for a few days
This resort was beautiful, quaint, and comfortable. It's fairly far from the nightlife, but that's a plug in our book. The views of the mountains and the ocean provided a very unique experience. The service was overall very good and the accommodations at Secrets Resorts are always exceptional. The food was very good for an all-inclusive and the nighttime entertainment is top notch. The rooms were slightly dated, but they are clean and the room service is added bonus. The 24/7 cafe is great for morning coffee and late night desserts. The pools and hot tub were great to have and never felt overly crowded. Overall, this was a great spot for my wife and I to vacation with friends and we would definitely recommend others to stay here if you are looking to stay near Cabo San Lucas or Cabo San Jose. We have always felt that Secrets resorts are a step above other all-inclusive resorts.
