Dec 10, 2025A mediocre experience at Secrets San Jose Cabo
My wife and I spent a week at Secrets in San Jose Cabo. The overall experience is just Ok. The resort was clean and well kept. We stayed in the ocean view room but since it was separated by a gold course, so the view wasn't as spectacular as we'd expected. The room was a little outdated but clean. The food at most of the restaurants was ok, but most of them was really salty to our palates (even for my wife as she can tolerate salt much better than me). The best restaurant was the Asian restaurant, Himitsu, that served sushi and Hibachi. The worst thing we ate there was the chicken wings at the Barefoot Grill as they were so salty that we couldn't finish half a wing. The bars were decent with all the normal drinks you would expect at a Mexican resorts. We didn't spend any time at the pool as there were too many people and the guests were so loud. We are older and just looking to relax. The staff was very friendly and attentive to your needs. Overall, I don't think we would come back just because it doesn't suit our taste

Xavier, the new violenist, at Portofino was awesome! Live music that was super fun and engaging and he looked super professional the whole time. The shiniest shoes I’ve seen in a while!

Dec 09, 2025Inconsistent - Hits and Misses
With the exception a a couple of outstanding and very responsive employees, this resort underdelivered for us. On the plus side - the property itself well landscaped and manicured, and some of the restaurants were good. However, on the other side, most of the employees were not as friendly and responsive as we have found at other Secrets resorts. Our room was not completely cleaned and there were dirty coffee cups on the counter. Having visited other Secrets and Dreams properties, I would recommend looking at other locations for a future trip.

Great property.
All of the restaurants are great. Wait staff were always great. The entertainment staff really helps to keep guests engaged and having fun. Very nice property. Everyone is very helpful and nice from the housekeeping to the golf cart shuttles.

Secrets in Cabo San Lucas was outstanding!
Secrets will NOT disappoint. The grounds are impeccable, cleanest everything I’ve ever seen. The food and drinks, top notch and all of the service remarkable. Staying as a preferred member was the VERY best experience. I’ll never forget this vacation there.
