Dec 09, 2024Preferred level pricing, without preferred level service.
The adults-only setting is nice and the grounds are beautifully maintained. However, the overall level of service was not nearly what we had enjoyed at another Hyatt resort in the area. The hoops we had to jump through to get a reservation at the teppanyaki restaurant was unreasonable...we either had to get up and be in line before 7AM, or get out of the pool in the middle of the afternoon to go to a lounge and try to get a spot for dinner. Not in alignment with a relaxing vacation. We felt like we needed to be our own concierge, which was very disappointing. Use of the Preferred Club pool was really the only benefit to having booked a preferred room. The spa and associated services were excellent!

My husband and I had a great week—golf, margaritas and tacos! Highly recommend! Yoga every morning overlooking the sea. Margaritas at the swim up bar or at the bar overlooking the beach. Lounges by the pool and overlooking the beach. We even saw some whales from the shore!

Amazing...period. The grounds are immaculate. The staff is patient and gracious. The room was amazing. The view! Waves crashing lulled me to sleep. Hot tub on the balcony was premier. The food! The hibachi was my favorite. I must shout out COCO Cafe for 24hr coffee and cakes.

Awesome place, better staff!
Such a nice place to visit. Amenities are plenty and the staff is awesome! If you have the opportunity to meet Misa when planning excursions - don’t pass him up! Also, stop and see Carlos at El Patio - you will not be disappointed! Many others made our stay feel like home and not a vacation!

6 night stay at Secrets
Tonight is our last night here at Secrets. We’ve had a wonderful time here with friends. We travelled here with 2 other couples. The staff were always fun, attentive, and quick to assist with whatever was needed. The entertainment team is so much fun! Axel, Ivan, Fernando and Miguel really stood out! They know how to bring the entertainment and fun to pool volleyball, water aerobics, ping pong, tequila tasting, etc! They all deserve a bonus! 😀 Spa: 3 of us opted to utilize a “coupon” that was given to us with our room keys during check in. The hydrotherapy, our body treatment and service providers were nothing short of amazing. Loved all of it. We did encounter an issue when we arrived for our services at the spa. We mentioned the coupon when scheduling the service in-person in the spa. The Pevonia coupon says “Facial AND Body treatment”. We each selected which facial we wanted (choice of 3) and I asked if the coupon included both the facial and the body treatment, just to clarify. Kevin, the spa attendant, who was scheduling our appts said yes a 50 minute facial and a 50 minute body wrap. When we arrived a couple of days later to have the services, he told us it was a facial OR a body treatment, not both. Major bummer since we did ask when scheduling. Rooms: we were in a garden view jr suite. Our room was always clean and we really loved how spacious it was. Even being garden view we still had a view of the ocean in the distance. Our first night here, we did have some bugs in our room. I contacted the front desk and they came to spray. I never saw another bug in room after that! Overall, it’s a beautiful resort and I would recommend to others looking for a relaxing getaway.
