  Honeymoon

  We went down for our honeymoon. The staff was attentive to you as soon as you walked in the door. This company strives to make sure you’re satisfied. We had the honeymoon full ocean view room that was beautiful and had plenty of space. We enjoyed the restaurants they had on site as well. They definitely take pride in the presentation of your food. We were very surprised most of the meals weren’t your typical small portioned size like other all inclusives we’ve attended. They had entertainment at all times of the day. We enjoyed our stay overall and would be willing to go back. We made sure to watch YouTube reviews of people who have stayed before we went down as well to get a true review of the resort itself.

  5th and Final Time

  We first came to the Vine (2013) and returned at least 3 times before Hyatt took over and corporate balance sheets were prioritized ahead of guest experience. We kept giving it a chance but those days are done. Little things matter and it seems most have been eliminated. Up until this last and final trip guests were greeted at the front door with welcome champagne-nice touch but no longer part of the experience. This visit We were escorted to the Preferred lounge for check in and POLICY REVIEWS which took 40 minutes total? Butler service is via text and What’s App. No drinks before 10:00AM ANYWHERE including Preferred Club which we paid extra for? This is a HYATT rule not a Mexican Law. Even in the Preferred Lounge Mimosas are not allowed prior to 10:00am and it is strictly enforced, same with the Market Cafe. Gone are the days of a table set up for self service. But I guess it saves $2.00 per guest each morning? Restaurants are conveniently CLOSED during specialty nights when the upsell is constant-an example is if you’d like steak for dinner THE Barefoot Grill is closed tonight BUT for an additional fee you can have steak at the specialty dinners outside. They will come around during the day with the upsell pitch. Do not pay for the Preferred level, very little benefit if any remains. If you want a higher end drink ask for it but there are limits. Gone are the days of Grey Goose, Belvedere, etc. you may get Smirnoff if they aren’t out. The pool bars make drinks with zero care, half blended, and they do it while seemingly LAUGHING at guests. Food (if the restaurants aren’t “closed”) is mediocre at best. Dragons has 4 sushi rolls on the menu and 2 are without fish? Steakhouse was closed so no comment. Olio is Mediterranean but YOU DINE in the “upgraded” Preferred club outside next to ratty stained daybeds and a pond/water feature that hasn’t had water in it for 3+ years, just a dry shallow pool. As stated earlier, stay away from Preferred, there is NO tangible benefit left. Staff at the coffee bar and Market Cafe are top notch! 🙏 For the record, I’m not an angry online review person, sadly just a person that will not return to The Vine again. My negative review of The Vine is not a reflection of the Staff, it’s a reflection of a Corporation that desires your money before your satisfaction. We checked out early and are having the vacation that Secrets USED to be 3 miles up the road.

  Would NOT come back again

  So we are 5 days into our 9 days visit to Cancun. This is my second visit to the hotel. It’s a revisit after 10 years. I read the reviews before coming and thought surely that isn’t the same place. Well. The hotel hasn’t changed much. Clean and tidy, food good, some restaurants closed on certain days. The hotel seems half full at present. The biggest let down the hotel has now is the drinks. DO NOT COME HERE expecting real drinks. The pool bars are serving cocktails which taste of flavors of your fav drinks but have no alcohol what so ever in them. It’s a real Shame and a total let down. I’ve spoken to a few people by the pool not one person has said they can taste any alcohol. I would say if you’re coming here bring your own drinks. The location itself it’s lovely same with the beach. Overall I think if your coming and not bothered about drinks and soft drinks are preferred but flat ones then u will enjoy a couples stay but entertainment is non existent in the evenings. The entertainment staff are good in the day with exercises. 3 stars I feel is fair for this hotel now, but I would never come back here based on this stay.

  Solid Resort, But Food and Drinks Fell Short

  Secrets The Vine Cancun is an alright resort depending on what you prioritize for your vacation. The property itself is visually appealing, but the overall experience was fairly average. The Room: Our room was perfectly fine—clean, comfortable enough, and offered great views of the ocean, though nothing particularly stood out as exceptional. Food & Dining: The food was strictly middle-of-the-pack. None of the meals were terrible, but none were memorable either. It felt like standard mid-tier all-inclusive fair. Drinks & Bar Service: This was the biggest letdown. The cocktails consistently felt watered down and lacked quality flavor, even when ordering basic drinks. If you are looking for top-shelf cocktails and fine dining, you might want to look elsewhere. But if you just want a nice beach, a clean bed, and a decent place to relax, it gets the job done.

  Lover’s Trip!

  We had such a wonderful trip for our late Anniversary getaway. It was a pleasant surprise and exceeded our expectations from the beauty, the ambiance and the food but most of all, the kindness and anxiousness of the staff to make sure we enjoyed our stay from the minute we walked in the door till the last minute we walked out! We will most definable be back as we feel that we had made many great friends here!
