  Perfect getaway for honeymoon

  Everything was amazing, people, staff, entertainment. The vibe was perfect. Music was great. Staff was friendly. Bartenders were amazing. Couldn’t have asked for a better honeymoon

  Overall, we did love this place!

  Beautiful large rooms overlooking the ocean you can not beat along with the comfiest beds. The staff is LOVELY and always right there for any needs you may have. We truly enjoyed the food at this resort minus the upselling that they try to do (buy $150 bottle of wine for a "better view" type thing) that was discouraging and a little suffocating. Stunning spa and fitness center. Multiple pools that include poolside service. The ocean and beach was a complete mess but not the hotels fault due to this time of year. Overall truly a special experience.

  Decent, nothing spectacular.

  Overall, the resort was okay. We’ve stayed at other resorts in Cancun and, based on our experience, we probably won’t be returning to The Vine. The food was decent but fairly standard for an all-inclusive. Nothing really stood out as amazing or something we felt we had to have again. We stayed in the Preferred area, and we did enjoy the private pool. It was quieter and more relaxing than the other pools. The Mediterranean restaurant, which was exclusive to Preferred guests, was also decent, although I’m not sure the Preferred upgrade was worth the additional cost. The drinks were standard for an all inclusive, if you are getting mixed drinks, it's pretty weak. I went to the preferred area bar and asked for a paloma. This bar is supposed to have the better spirits and more well made drinks. I got a paloma and was made with respado tequila and grapefruit soda. Pretty basic, no lime juice added. Overall, our experience was decent. The resort provided a relaxing vacation, but there wasn’t anything that really stood out or made it feel particularly special compared with other resorts we’ve stayed at in Cancun. Our biggest issue was how the Mexican Independence Day celebration was handled. There were signs around the resort stating that seating was limited. When we asked an employee about attending the event, we were told that we had to purchase a bottle of wine or liquor in order to get a table. Based on that information, we purchased a bottle of liquor. The following day, we asked our concierge about it and were told that purchasing a bottle was not required to attend the event. We were told that the bottle purchase was only required if we wanted a private table; otherwise, guests could sit at a shared table. We explained that we had been told otherwise by an employee, but were simply told that there was nothing the resort could do. At checkout, we brought the issue up again and explained that an employee had given us incorrect information that resulted in us making a significant purchase we otherwise would not have made. The only compensation offered was a $10 voucher. That experience was disappointing and left a negative impression on an otherwise decent stay. The resort was relaxing and the staff were generally pleasant, but between the average food, lack of anything particularly memorable, and the way the Independence Day situation was handled, we would likely choose a different resort for our next Cancun trip.

  Excellent stay at this hotel

  Excellent hotel and great staff high standards would definitely recommend. The standard of the food was very high the chef's table is highly recommend as this was by far the best one we have done well worth the money

  Good with a few reservations

  Arrival Arrived at the hotel early evening and our transport had to wait about 10 minutes before the gate to the hotel entrance was opened. We had a preferred Club room and checked in at main reception. We were not told there was a special Club level check-in on floor 21. Room The room was spacious and overlooked the neighbouring Sandos hotel. There was quite a lot of noise from that hotel, but the sliding glass doors from the room to the balcony kept that noise, and the noise from air handing units at the base of our building, out of the room. It was not peaceful to sit on the balcony! The room had a shower enclosed by a shaded glass wall. The toilet also had a shaded glass door. A capsule-type coffee machine was provided and a selection of drinks in the fridge - water, Coke, and beer. These were refreshed daily. USB charging sockets were provided each side of the bed - one in an information tablet and one in the base of a lamp. The ones in the lamp were worn and were not reliable. Lighting in the room was controlled by a series of touch panels, which could be a bit confusing. Restaurants We tried each restaurant except the Asian. The quality of the food was good. Lighting was poor in the area of the Bluewater Grill we were seated in and had to use the light on a phone to read the menu. A special evening at the Salt Water Grill was a bit chaotic, with no one was sure which of the three lines started and what they were for. We eventually gave up. The Olio restaurant was also chaotic on one lunchtime visit. It took around 20 minutes for one of two appetisers to arrive and the second arrived after 15 minutes with the main courses. We had to keep asking for drinks. Outside areas Outside, pool loungers can get taken up quite quickly. Some of the sun shades are broken, so be careful when erecting one. Often it is just one or more struts have come out of the fabric. Entertainment Evening entertainment seems to be centred on performers dancing, except there was one evening of a Boy Band playing and singing music from the 90’s. Checkout There was a long wait for checkout on the 21st floor. Staff Most of the staff are friendly and go out of their way to help guest. A special mention to Oscar at the Preferred concierge and Alejandro on a good visit to the Olio restaurant. Outside the Hotel If you are venturing outside the hotel, you can use the buses, taxis or an Uber. At the time of writing there is a new piece of road being constructed by the new bridge and northbound traffic is extremely slow. On the day we used transport it took nearly 30 minutes to travel a mile.
