This trip was planned by the company my husband works for. They earned this trip by exceeding their numbers. We were thrilled to go to Secrets as it's an all adult resort. The rooms were spacious and the duel head rain shower was amazing. The only thing that was "odd" to us is our bathtub was on the balcony. Our butler, Javier was exceptional. He assisted us and answered every question we had. We had an issue with a light switch that was inoperable and he made sure it was repaired. The food at the resort was wonderful! The market cafe had everything you could imagine to eat - what a variety and delicious! As with most all inclusive resorts, we believe the alcohol is either watered down or has very small percentage in it. Which is ok actually so you don't have a ton of drunk guests. We didn't do any excursions but some of the co-workers did and enjoyed them.

Avoid the garden view swim out rooms. No sun at all, ever and next to service road. Cold water. We had to ask to change for inside pool view room. Much better. Food and drinks are average at restaurants. Buffet when open is the best. Rock show is really good. Beach and waves are very enjoyable. Long walks are great in either direction. Sports bar has a good vibe and plays sports on the tvs.

It's About As Expected... Nothing More, Nothing Less
Overall, the experience was subpar. The rooms were very clean and we loved the proximity of the rooms to entertainment/dining. The food was just alright and I will say, I received food poisoning from dining here. The pools were very nice and the drinks were flowing, but remember to bring long pants for men because the dress codes are very strict.

Even worth it for solo travel.
Going as a solo traveller I was apprehensive at first but it was a 10/10 experience. From checking in, everything was smooth, to going through the room and all of the tech included. The rooms get cleaned so much which keeps to the 5* standard and it's a place that doesn't force you to do anything you don't want to do. Staff are cool and noticed I was a solo traveller and looked out for me to make me feel welcome, but also allowed me relax when it was time to chill.

tides was an excellent choice of hotel, it was all that an all inclusive should be. food was good and staff was excellent. spa experience was great. we went with a large group and made being at the resort a pleasure, plenty of interaction and fun with staff members made things more enjoyable. shout out to maria at the pool bar, eddy at the rendezvous bar, diamond for his fun. Javier our butler was great and helped us as we needed.
