We had an wonderful time at Secrets Vallarta Bay. The views from the lobby area out to the ocean was spectacular especially during the sunset. The staff was amazing with Jesus, Atlai, and the staff at Bordeaux and Tamarindo were excellent. Gustavo was very informative for us as well. We would definitely go back for our future trips.

The room was nice. The food wasn’t great except the poolside kitchen. If you book an excursion it’s not through the hotel so if you have to cancel you lose your money. We didn’t know we weren’t booking with the hotel so we lost $200 and the hotel didn’t offer any kind of compensation. I got super sick and couldn’t go and I wasn't even given the opportunity to go a different day. That was very disappointing. We went with a group of 10 friends but none of us will be back for this reason.

The restaurant and bar staff was amazing. We had Adrian a couple times and then tried to find out where he was next so we could have him again. He gave us amazing service every time. Pedro, Alfonso, Mario, and Carlos were great too! The rooms were sub-par and ours had a mosquito infestation. My husband had over a hundred bites in 2 days. We asked to be moved and they moved us to the room next door. Still lots of mosquitos there too. FYI, the "swim out rooms" don't connect to the pools. It just connects a row of about 6 rooms together. The main pools were nice, and the pool bar was great.

Nice with some hiccups
Nice place. The food was not great. Loved the pool and the grill at the pool at the best pizza. Went to one specialty restaurant that was not the best. Breakfast buffet was good. The room was clean and comfortable. Only issue was that we had no water to take a shower the last night of our stay.

I really enjoyed secrets. I have never been there before but I love Puerto Vallarta and the location is perfect. It’s a quick 15 or 20 minute drive from the airport and then you’re 10 minutes from anywhere downtown by taxi. The food was much better than expected. We only went to the preferred club restaurants except for the breakfast buffet, and it was pretty standard for an all-inclusive. Overall, I would return back to this resort. It was much better than I anticipated. The only thing I hated was being asked multiple times a day in the first 24 hours that I was there if I wanted to learn more about the Vacation club and they kept trying to get me to sit through a presentation and I kept saying no and it’s like they wouldn’t take no for an answer. That was really frustrating and I hate the model that Hyatt is going with now.
