Jan 25, 2026Exceptional Stay with Outstanding Staff and Memorable Experiences
This was our third stay at Secrets Akumal, and it continues to exceed expectations. My husband and I brought our son and his wife, who are in their 20s, and they also ranked the hotel very highly. The resort is beautiful, impeccably maintained, and the Preferred Club experience is well worth it. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable: Fernanda helped us with our room upgrade, Baltazar and Jaime provided exceptional service at Seaside Grill, Jose ensured our beach experience was perfect, and Ricardo, Ana, and Cruz delivered excellent beach service. From amazing dining and engaging activities to high-quality evening entertainment, every detail reflects care and professionalism. We felt welcomed and well cared for, and we can’t wait to return!

Amazing Resort
My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Secrets Akumal over MLK weekend. Everything is great here: the food, the pool, the beach, and the service. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. In particular our concierge, Metz, was wonderful, and was able to schedule us a last-minute private bicycle tour on our last day when ours was cancelled the day before due to rain. We picked this resort for snorkeling and it did not disappoint. We did the paid turtle snorkeling activity and saw three turtles plus a few sting rays and other fish. Overall I think it was worth the cost, but I'd recommend going in the morning (which we did) vs the afternoon, since the visibility tends to be much better in the morning. Didel was our guide for the snorkeling and bike tour and we had a great time with him. In addition, there is pretty great snorkeling right off the beach. Towards the left of the beach (when facing the ocean) is seagrass where you can see rays and occasional fish, and if you stick to the right, there are a few areas of coral reefs where you can see lots of colorful fish. One thing to keep in mind is that since the resort is next to a protected area, you must go out with a guide when kayaking or paddle boarding. This can be a little frustrating since it means you need to plan your day ahead of time (there are limited slots on the tours, so you need to book ahead in the Hyatt app), but seems worth it given the overall quality of the snorkeling in the area. They seem to be doing things right.

Amazing resort, incredibie people
The lovliest All inclusive we have ever been to! Check in was fast, friendly and sensitive Room was immaculate, large and comfortable Resort is So clean and beautifully tended, with lush vegetation and flowers and the local wildlife. Pools are suitable for everyone, from quiet to party/sporty. Restaurants are first class, food and services wise. Great choices Entertainment was really surprisingly good! Staff( family) I was unlucky to have a bicycle accident and break my arm on an organised trip from the Hotel. The staff were so well organised, helpful and caring, it was overwhelming. We had Ben stay with us all day at the hospital and our concierge Jose, was amazing, thinking of things to help before we even knew we needed them. Antonio and Jose by the quiet pool, went out of their way to help even before the accident but after they were so lovely. Maria in the buffet helped every morning. The manager and assistant manager, Rafael and Giovanna were so kind, Giovanna even checked the onsite shop for pain relief rather than watch us pay over the odds for a medication delivery. Lastly, on checking out the sympathy and kindness of Cesar, the accommodation manager was incredible. We loved our holiday, despite the accident. The wonderful staff here are what Secrets is all about.

Great Experience at Secrets Akumal
Secrets Akumal is a beautiful property. The staff is well trained across disciplines and they are always looking to provide assistance and a memorable experience. We've been to several all inclusive resorts and this one is top shelf.

Fantastic all inclusive
This all inclusive is next level. I cant say enough about this place. The food was great. The service is top notch and the hotel itself is very nice. I have very severe food allergies and this resort handled it better than anywhere I have ever been. The hotel is beautiful and has everything you need.
