Oct 02, 2024Great place, good food, and a shoutout to Queen Pamela in the buffet!
The resort is a great place to stay. Beautiful grounds, nice views, and a short walk to town. The staff are very helpful, and friendly. A huge shoutout to Pamela in the buffet. She is super friendly, and always makes me speak to her in Spanish. We look forward to seeing her ever time we visit!

Paid for a private driver $140rt from airport to hotel and back. Van was spacious and driver was nice but it had an old carseat for toddler not a baby. Totally fine since we brought our doona but the backseat had an empty crush beer can. Van was outdated. The first room had a leak! Thank goodness we were moved into a new room. The refrigerator wasn’t working and the mechanic had to come in and replace that too. The breakfast buffet was good. Lunch could be improved. Dinner was hit or miss. Independence day was amazing! Only gaviota is worth spending extra money on. If you’re a coffee drinker, you’ll have to settle for nescafe 🥲 I wish smaller pesos were offered to hell tip staff. Also my baby contracted mild hand, foot and mouth disease from the kiddie pool. Because it was so kid and dog friendly was it’s only saving grace. Family photos were decent but the prices are $$$ $250-400 usd. The deli/cafe i ordered a “starbucks mocha” tall. It was not great. But for $8, definitely should be good. Beach was very rocky and should be a lot more sandy. Drinks at the bar were the only decent ones. All exclusive is the way to go.

caution with this Hotel the people on the entrance looks like drug cartel persons, (tatoos) agresive intentions, I was several times here but today was my last time. avoid the place! Even if you go alone like me, The guys outside the hotel "halcons" is the name by the Mexicans.

Sep 17, 2024Better than Expected
Sheraton Bouganvillas July 20-27, 2024 Puerto Vallarta " Better than Expected" After 2 previous visits here that were not so great, this visit was a surprise. We had a long check in and a major flaw on amount placed on hold for charge card which entailed like 6 days to correct so a bit stressful but otherwise check in was okay. We got room 1389, a lovely 2 bedroom Ocean front unit. 2 balconies, nice living room, small but useful kitchen, nice bathrooms. The AC did not work very well in the master bedroom. Maintenance came, said they would fix the next day but it never improved. The other rooms were fine. We really liked the room for spaciousness. The first night we ate at Nine Ninety and it was pretty good, though a bit pricey for bar style food. Service was great. The next day we went to the Sunday Brunch. It was packed. Loud and yes Mariachis playing. Very good variety of food and yes, they had mimosas. They are an additional cost package for those thinking they no longer have that. After this we decided to do the AI as we got a fabulous price. The food overall was surprisingly good, unlike previous visits. We tried Gaviotas, their more formal/fancy restaurant. It had a nice atmosphere, a piano player who played a nice dining sound, not overbearing. Service was a bit rushed but very polite. Food was decent though descriptions on menu did not fit well with what was served. It was a nice choice for celebrating our anniversary. The buffet in the daytime and food by the pool was quite good and a very good variety at buffet. Service good at buffet. The waiters, by pool, most of them were unfriendly, uninterested but quick. The pool was jam packed as were the loungers. The beach is very rocky but does have food and drink service and palapas. The saving of loungers game is heavily played here. Rules against it are not enforced at all. Surely not enough umbrellas, seems most folks want some shade nowadays. I had an aromatherapy massage in the spa and it was very good. They claimed the best in town which might not be true but it certainly was a good massage. The Mexican Fiesta if not on AI is 899 pesos on Thursdays, We did not go to this. The Italian Restaurant, open aired nice atmosphere, but only so, so food and service. Punta Sol, another restaurant, overlooking the ocean and beach was an option on AI despite most of the items not included in AI ( so upcharges, which we never partake of). The service was terribly rushed. The beef filet my husband got was good. My steak was like shoe leather. The sides for both meals were cold when they should have been hot. This could be a fabulous restaurant but it fell short sadly. They had really interesting presentation of ice cream in special cooled like kegs. ( see pictures). The rest of our meals we had at the buffet. The food was great, variety great and drink service and waiters very friendly. We are not fond of buffets but here it was very good and clean. The check out was a simple process. Despite some of the not so good, we would return and likely will. It has greatly improved in the last 2 years! We really enjoyed our stay. The location to downtown malecon is very convenient. I suggest you try it.

Wonderful Staff
The best experience was Antonio at the front desk, he was absolutely wonderful, down to earth, super friendly, answered all of our questions and boy did we have many. He was so friendly and had many places for us to visit and places to go eat at. Absolutely just the best human being there is. Thank you Antonio ❤️
