Pick Another Hotel
Check in was supposed to be at 3pm but our room wasn't ready until 10pm. Not a great way to start a vacation after a six hour flight. They didn't even offer any compensation. The customer service is terrible. The rooms are also worn down and dated. There are so many nice hotels in Panama, there's no need to stay here.

A Very Disappointing Stay!
My family and I stayed at the property during the holiday period, and upon arrival we were initially pleased with the festive lobby décor. Although the check-in line was lengthy, it was manageable and did not distract from our first impression. Upon entering our assigned room (Room 1021), we immediately noticed that the room was dated and had several maintenance issues. One of the bedside lights was not functioning, the in-room safe was defective, a wall sconce was broken and leaning, one of the room telephones did not work, and the shower ceiling tiles were visibly dirty. Unfortunately, when I showered, water leaked past the lip of the shower door and flowed into the room. We contacted maintenance, and although the technician arrived promptly and cleared the drain, he assured us this would resolve the issue. However, when my daughter showered next, the water leaked again. I cleaned the water using towels from the room. When my husband later showered, the leakage worsened. I placed a second call to maintenance, and the same technician returned and determined that the shower threshold was too low, causing water to spill over the ledge. At that point, I requested a room change, as the situation had become unacceptable. We were reassigned to Room 306, which was also dated, a bit smaller, and had a slight odor. Disappointing, though at least all lights were functional and the shower did not leak. Additionally, our experience at the 24-hour restaurant, Las Hadas, was extremely disorganized. We waited approximately 25 minutes for a table to be cleared before Eric Bailey stepped in to assist us. After being seated, we waited an additional 30 minutes before Eric brought menus. Eric returned again after noticing that no one had taken our order. The server assigned to our section was Luis. He was particularly unpleasant, his demeanor was offensive and his attitude rude. In total, it took 2 hours to get two Chicken Caesar Salads, Crispy Wings and tap water. This dining experience was very disappointing for my family. The Wi-Fi service was also subpar. I experienced better connectivity using my cellular LTE service. For guests traveling on business who require reliable internet access, this hotel would not be a suitable choice. On a positive note, the staff at the complimentary breakfast buffet were courteous and attentive. The food was plentiful, well-prepared, and offered a variety of options. The fitness center was excellent and well maintained, and I appreciated having access to the sauna and steam room after workouts. If you choose to stay at the Sheraton Grand Panama, I strongly recommend ensuring that you are not assigned to Room 1021 unless the shower issue has been fully resolved.

Great place to stay in Panama City
All the members of the team went above and beyond. Huge thanks to Jose Gonzalez in club, Gustavo in Front Desk & Joel from the lobby bar. They really made our stay special. We will definitely come back!

Disappointed stay
Business orientated hotel in a very poor pedestrian friendly area. Hotel across the street from a convention center. Found a lovely mall only 1.5k away but an incredibly difficult walk from hotel. VERY FEW sidewalks if any. As for staff we received very few smiles or positive encounters from staff in general. Front desk staff professional but always felt like I was a bothering them when needed help. Room was well appointed and clean. Previously stayed at Le Meriden the week before which we loved but thought we would try another part of the city when we returned. We ended up only stayed 2 of 5 nights at Sheraton and returned to Le Meriden where there was friendly faces, impeccable service with smiles and a very pedestrian friendly area!

Clean, comfortable and charmless
We loved that this hotel was just across the street from our conference venue, Atlapa. The neighborhood is unattractive. It felt perfectly safe, but it was uninteresting and fairly unwalkable with barely any usable sidewalks. The hotel itself was fine as a business option, with a decent variety of dining options. The breakfast buffet got a bit old after 2 weeks, but there were some flourishes like that delicious tangy beef stew they put on once in a while. The service was fantastic across the board. The one criticism I have is that the housekeeper unnecessarily knocked herself out changing the sheets and towels every day, as I realized when talking with her, and I specifically requested that she not change them unless I left a message to do so. I had always thought that the new eco-trend in hotels was to only change towels that are on the floor and to leave the ones hanging. I guess not. I'm glad to see they use large shampoo and body wash dispensers and not miniature toiletries. The room was very comfy. The only thing I missed was a proper tea kettle. There was a coffee maker and fixings, but I drink tea.
