Good but not great
This was my second visit at SLS Playa Mujeres. Although I had an enjoyable stay, I found that there had not been much improvement in the dining experiences. The people and the service mindset are first rate. My butler Alexis was attentive. He checked in every day, mentioned activities at the resort and handled reataurant reservations. I also want to mention a few of the people who stay in the background but make a difference. Jair at the Press, I learned, is a coffee guru. He remembered my order every morning, greeted me with a smile, and engaged in friendly onversation. Another person I commend is David Negron at the adult pool. He got our chairs set up each morning as soon as he saw me coming. He never failed to ask if there was anything he could help with every time he walked by. He routinely repositioned our umbrella for just the right amount of shade and even replaced our towels after a brief rain shower. Dining is something that SLS needs to address. Some of the food was excellent but the overall experience was mixed. The food at Lotus was good, (I don't reccomend the sashimi though), but the atmosphere detracts. The dining room is dominated by the two tepanyaki stations. I understand that the chefs are entertainers but the cheering and chanting fills the entire very crowded room so the atmosphere is more like a fast food chain than fine dining. We dined at Union and Fi'lia two times each. The dining rooms are crowded and noisy. The outdoor areas are completely different. Tables are spread out and the areas are quiet. Fi'lia outdoors is the best area on the resort. Union outdoors was much better that indoors but probably had much brighter lighting than needed. Fi'lia outdoors should be the standard. We enjoyed excellent weather so outdoor dining worked for us. In hot or inclement weather outdoor dining may not work. Perhaps sliding or folding glass and air conditioning woulds make these areas more accessible year round. I understand that SLS is a family resort but perhaps adult only (perhaps no children under 12) areas or hours at the restaurants and bars would improve the experience for those who are not dining with toddlers and strollers. Age restriction at Twiggy seems to work. Some reviews have suggested a dinner buffet. This might be a way to relieve the crowds and give parents with young children a better option. Caracoal and Cleo were good. Overall, menus seemed to have been pared down from my visit six months ago. Slow cooked short rib at Union, Birria at caracoal, and the lunch salad/bread bar at Cleo are items that I missed.

Best Staff and Amazing experience!
My family went for a wedding and I have to say this was the best experience we have ever had at a Mexican resort. That staff is so so friendly. And I mean every single staff member. There are a number of food options and all were very tasty especially the Mediterranean restaurant and lotus which is Asian fusion. The wedding itself was held in a beautiful rooftop spot and the reception was held in a huge ballroom on the adults side of the resort and it was a blast with the staff being very attentive and making sure the party went off without a hitch. The pool beach area was lively and staff were constantly coming around to everyone to take food and drink orders and make sure we were taken care of. The kids pool and slides were a hit with all of my children and nieces and nephews. I got a massage from Leslie at the spa that was excellent. The spa in and of itself is laid out very nicely and has an extremely relaxing vibe. Also they have a wonderful trainer down at the gym (Christian). She took us through really fun and challenging workouts each morning which were and still really fun to do with the grownups in our party. My family and I have travelled to a number of Mexican resorts for vacation and I can say the customer service here was by far the absolute best I have ever experienced. That goes a really long way to me when it comes to vacationing. I normally like to try new places each time we come to Mexico but I can’t wait to come here again with the family.

Relaxing and calming experience at Ciel Spa
Hubby and I enjoyed treatments at the ciel spa with Liz and Nayibe. Both therapists were very polite, respectful and had our comfort as priority. The hydrotherapy circuit was very pleasing and helped me get into the mindset for the massage. Liz adapted well to my requests to moderate pressure. I had the wellness journey which included a body scrub and wrap - my skin is baby soft now! Hubby enjoyed the hot stone massage and said the stones’ temperature was perfect and very soothing. Nayibe’s hands were very soft and comforting as well. Overall, a relaxing experience and a nice way to cap off a great vacation.

Amazing Resort
We chose this resort through our All Accor account, and we were absolutely thrilled! The resort was amazing! We booked two rooms, Delight two queens and the SLS Elite Ocean view rooftop. For future trips I would definitely book both rooms Elite, as the service really did treat us all like VIP’s. The rooms were spacious and very clean. Housekeeping maintained this throughout our whole trip, including exceptional turn down service! The assortment of restaurants and food options were excellent, top for us would be Fi’lia and Lotus. What made our trip spectacular were the staff members! Always so helpful and courteous! There were some that went above and beyond: Francisco & Alan from Fi’lia: So friendly and helpful. Dulce from Hudson’s Tavern: Took care of us like Family. David from Twiggy’s Pool: Made sure our spots were ready every morning and always willing to lend a hand. Moon and Karen from The Market: Greeted us every morning with the most authentic smiles! Ever from Twiggy’s Pool: Our glasses were always full and he was always so kind. Jared from The Press: Made the best coffee’s with a smile! Joseph from The Elite bar: Best bartender! Lastly Luis Garcia who went above and beyond to make our stay so memorable!

Highly pleased, will come again
This is one of the best resorts we have been to. We have stayed at an SLS property in the past, so we knew right off the bat that this resort will do nothing but please us. We had dinner one of the nights at Filia, and the waiter Horacio did an amazing job. He was very kind and quick to accommodate our needs. He made our dining experience a 10/10.
