OnSite Dining
  • Ginger Sushi
  • Heliconia Bar
  • La Laguna Bar (The Lagoon Bar)
  • Las Ventanas (The Windows)

Dinner 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM

Enjoy the best fine dining in La Fortuna, Arenal in our incredible restaurant Las Ventanas where the only thing better than the view is the food.  Be careful to avoid the window seats if you are afraid of heights because the windows are angled out to allow you to look almost straight down a thousand feet to the river below! At night the distant mountains twinkle with the lights of cities thirty miles away.  Be sure to dine here at least once during the day and once during the evening to capture the complete experience.

  • Los Perdidos Bar (The Lost Ones)
  • The Ranchito Bar (The Little Rancho)
  • Treetops Grill
  • Tres Cascasdas (Three Waterfalls)

Our gourmet buffet restaurant would be appropriately described as a “Tasting” experience.  Here you will sample to your heart’s content a complete salad bar with our signature dressings, hot and cold soups of the day, assorted fresh baked breads, and a selection of hot entrée items of which a few will be specially prepared for you right at the buffet. The menu changes daily and may tend toward Italian one day to Asian the next.  Our dessert bar offers small bite size portions to minimize your guilt while sampling them all and, of course, maybe returning for an extra piece of your favorite.  Fresh fruit juices, tea and coffee are included. Even though it is a buffet you will have a waiter attending to your every need.  We like to refer to it as a “Full Service Gourmet Buffet”.

An Elevated Escape: The Springs Resort Experience

Our stay at The Springs Resort was amazing from start to finish! The pools and mountain views were stunning, and the staff made the trip unforgettable. Arpit and Kortnii made fantastic drinks, and Denny took great care of us in the cabana. Amy gave a relaxing magnesium scrub, Tyler’s aqua massage was super cool, and Jess made the mud experience so fun. Abbie was awesome going above and beyond helping us schedule our spa day, and Niki at check-in gave a magical tip for my elevation sickness. Elly led great aqua aerobics and a sound bath, while Patty guided a beautiful gratitude ceremony. Tina and Jessica kept our room spotless and fully stocked. Everyone was so kind and welcoming. I left feeling totally refreshed and can’t wait to come back!

Amazing stay at the springs for a wedding weekend

Had the most amazing stay for my best friends wedding at the Springs this past weekend. The staff are amazing and so friendly and helpful, food is delicious, pools and hot springs are 5 stars, the rooms are huge, and everything is so well kept at the resort. The wedding was 10/10: the ceremony overlooking the volcano and the party at club rio was so beautiful and so fun. Would recommend to anyone!

Wonderful, One-of-a-Kind, Wedding Week at The Springs Resort in La Fortuna

Wednesday AM’s JetBlue flight departed FLL on-time at 11:00AM EST for San Jose and excitement was palpable as we couldn’t wait to spend the next 5 days at the Springs. After touching down in San Jose, surrounded by the gorgeous Costa Rican terrain, and breezing through Customs, our journey to Paradise was here. Immediately after customs, we were greeted by “Big” John Jimenez - a tour guide, van driver, top-10 human being, nature enthusiast, and incredibly kind person. After narrowly escaping an airport-loiterer pretending to be “with John” & offering to assist us with our luggage, we successfully loaded the Sprinter with all of our bags (much to the loiterer’s dismay). John, as a true-professional , came prepared with a cooler full of cervezas (Imperial Lights & Pilsners were going down easy - they were crisp all weekend!), waters, tequila and other beverages on ice. The ride to The Springs is an easy 2.5 hours, offers incredible local views, and allows for short “mercado” or bathroom stops, if desired. I recommend picking up cervezas and empanadas. Once at the Springs, we were greeted by a group of personable, happy, inviting, and helpful staff members. We were immediately checked in, assisted with our luggage, and, most importantly, handed a delicious, refreshing Welcome Drink. Once situated & ready for dinner, we tried Las Ventanas on the 5th Floor of the Main Building- Exquisite setting, with a menu full of no-nonsense, flavor-filled options. We enjoyed the Tuna Tartare, Filet Mignon, & Shrimp - everything was excellent, with my favorite being the Filet + Shrimp. The cocktails packed a flavorful punch & came out quickly! Much of the next few days were spent around The Resort, prior to the Welcome Party + Main Event (Friday & Sat, respectively). We did venture 15 minutes off-site to La Fortuna Waterfall - which was a spectacular site, worth every single one of the 500 steps up + down. With an opportunity to jump into the water at the bottom, there is a little something for everybody! Additionally, a group of us fished in a local Volcano Area, which was extremely unique and unbelievably picturesque. Back to The Springs on-site daytime activities & options, which are not only plentiful, but also all offer an unbelievable view of the gorgeous La Fortuna Volcano. In addition to the Hot Springs, Pool & Swim Up Bar, which will all be properly addressed later, The Springs Resort offers mini golf, ping pong, air hockey, futsal, free popcorn (kettle or regular), a full spa, animal viewings, rafting/tubing, an incredible amount of Bars, and much more. There is a lot to do on-site. The Pool sits adjacent to the TreeTops Grill, a restaurant that is spacious and provides an unbelievable view of La Fortuna Volcano. When the sky is cloud-free and the Volcano is fully erect, the view is 1 of a kind…. Stunning. This is where the Welcome Party was hosted, and it provided plenty of room for 100+ dancing & partying Guests! The Food is excellent here, great for lunch next to the pool (if you don’t want to eat at the pool Bar). The Main Pool/Pool Bar is a Great Wonder of the World….or, at least it should be. The Bartenders, who double as waiters when a patron orders food, are extremely attentive and professional/kind. In regard to the Food/Drinks, you really cannot go wrong. There are so many different menus/options, that even the pickiest of eaters would have multiple options. While I could write 1-2 full paragraphs on the Chicken Taquitos alone (should be a priority to order these on your trip), I will just say this: you are missing out if you do not try them, our group was ordering them on repeat! Other favorites of mine included: The Miso Soup / Ramen (hangover medicine), the Sushi Rolls, aforementioned Filet + Shrimp, All-American Breakfast, Chicken Pesto Sandwich @ pool, and Smoothies at breakfast (combined mango + pineapple was a day-changer). Also, the French Fries are delicious. The Beverage Menu provided a “Can’t-Miss” Decision, when choosing between drinks. Everything tasted fresh, cold, refreshing, and made with top-quality ingredients. In addition to the Imperials & Pilsners, the John Daly’s truly hit the spot during the pool-hour days. I highly recommend ordering at least 6 doubles (preferably with Tito’s) throughout your day at The Springs. The frozen drinks were also phenomenal….. Truly cannot go wrong with whatever you choose! The Staff at The Springs is not only professional, but also friendly and courteous. I was amazed by how many of the Guests’ Names that they had learned - it was a pleasure getting to know many of the employees at The Springs, in fact. If I had to name a “Mount Rushmore of The Springs Resort”, it would be incredibly difficult to only highlight 4 Difference Makers deserved of this Title. However…because it is an important discussion….My Rushmore would consist of: Paola (bartender, sweetheart, makes excellent drinks and provides wonderful conversation), Esteban (employee who assists at front desks, drives golf carts, and assists guests around the Resort routinely), Toby (jack of all trades, plug-and-play superstar, does a little bit of everything - not to mention, certainly easy on the eyes!), and Mr. Donald Nunez (member of The Springs Resort Hall of Fame, great person to know, and well-respected figure in Costa Rica). With that being said, Raquel is a game-changer and somebody who can get things done - an important characteristic on a Wedding Weekend! The Wedding on Saturday was one of the most beautiful events I have attended. The clouds subsided at the perfect time, providing multiple hours of full-Volcano background for the handsome Groom Jay, who showed off a spectacular physique (all weekend), and his lovely, gorgeous Bride Krista, had the audience stunned at her beautiful appearance and dress. It was an absolutely perfect setting for a truly memorable Ceremony, which took place near the Aracari Building, on the Turf Field. The 100+ guests were seated very comfortably, with more than enough room to spare. The Dinner & Dancing took place down in the Club Rio Area, which is accessed by a 5-minute bus ride. This Area is also where the tubing takes place. It is massive, gorgeous, and provides some of the best Hot Springs in the Resort. The tented-dinner and dance floors were gigantic, spacious, and easily accommodated all of the guests. The food was, once again, fantastic. The Dance Floor was tented & was ripping for multiple hours. WIth a violinist, a saxophonist and a DJ…. It was an unbelievable time. In addition to 2 standing bars, which allowed for no-lines of people when wanting another drink, there were also waiters bringing around multiple cocktails through the venue. The fire dancers by the River, coupled with Storms’ Surprise of Fireworks in the air, made for one of the most-special atmospheres you could have. The Springs Resort makes it easy and enjoyable. Golf carts are available to pick you up 24/7, filtered water and coffee is available in the lobbies, and the Team there provides top quality customer service. New friendships were made, old friendships were rekindled, and everybody celebrated as the Wedding Weekend was Perfect. Throughout the trip, I heard only positive remarks about The Springs - notably the cleanliness, the beauty (of the Resort & the Rooms), the option/spaciousness, and the true “Vacation” Feeling. A visit to The Springs Resort provides a perfect vacation, especially if you take advantage of the Monkey Waterslide. The Rooms are immense, the Villas are exceptional, and the experience is tremendous. PURA VIDA!!

    Costa Rica at its Best!

Our stay at The Springs Resort and Spa was incredible! We were blown away by the view of the Arsenal Volcano, which you can see from almost every part of the property. The natural hot springs were located throughout the resort were beautifully maintained and spread out around the resort. Another highlight was the white water rafting at Club Rio. The guides were so helpful and our large group felt safe throughout the rafting. The food and service were great as well and I am looking forward to a future trip to return!
