  It was just okay

  I stayed 3 nights at this hotel while attending a conference there. I arrived early morning and was able to check in and access my room straight away which was appreciated. The hotel is big and my room was over yonder. Quite a bit of walking and stairs but I got used to it. The room was spacious and comfortable, but a bit dated and worn especially the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. I slept well. The A/C unit kept clicking on and off and was very loud at times. The bathroom had a deep soak tub. The water kept running hot and cold in the shower. No consistent hot water. Basic bathroom amenities. I liked that the vanity area was separate from the bathroom. There was a balcony off the room which looked out onto the resort. Nice for relaxing after a day at the conference. The best features of the room were the spaciousness and that comfortable bed. The food at the resort was a whole other story. I did not enjoy it. Subpar in my opinion. Our conference lunch was in the main restaurant across from the reception. Buffet style. The food was meh. Nothing to write home about. There is a coffee and light snacks bar next to the main restaurant. The offerings were better there but very expensive. A small veggie quiche and a cranberry muffin for USD$24.00. There was a gala sit-down dinner for the conference at the hotel in the Saba Room. The food at that event was also very disappointing. Lacked flavour and just not what one would expect of a Marriott. Overall it was a decent stay. I did not try the amenities such as the pools, the gym and did not go to the casino so can't comment. But it is a large full-service hotel with everything close at hand for a comfortable stay including thankfully, better dining options within easy walking distance. There is also a small strip plaza across the street with a grocery store and a pharmacy. Very convenient.

  Dated beach resort

  Unfortunately, our stay at the Marriott St. Kitts was quite disappointing. As someone who has stayed at many beach resorts, this was easily one of the most dated beach hotels I have experienced. The resort is in serious need of updating. The lobby furniture was noticeably worn and tattered, and our room felt extremely dated. The bathroom in particular needs renovation. The bathtub has a large step to get in and out, which felt awkward and potentially unsafe, and I believe it would be much better replaced with a spacious walk-in shower. The pool area also needs attention. The furniture was uncomfortable and not particularly practical, and the pool itself looked like it had seen better days. Unfortunately, the beach experience was the biggest disappointment. There was no beach service, the palapas were in desperate need of repair, and the amount of sargassum along the beach was significant. While sargassum is obviously a natural issue that resorts cannot control, we felt the cleanup and maintenance could have been handled much better. One bright spot was the hotel staff. Everyone we encountered was very friendly, welcoming, and pleasant, and their hospitality was appreciated. Overall, the resort was not what we were hoping for and fell well short of our expectations for a Marriott beach property. That said, the price is extremely affordable—considerably less expensive than many comparable resorts and, in some cases, even less than a Courtyard in the United States. So, I think expectations should be set accordingly. You really do get what you pay for. For travelers looking for an inexpensive place to stay in St. Kitts, the Marriott may offer good value based on its price. However, if you are looking for an updated, upscale beach-resort experience with a beautiful pool and well-maintained beach amenities, this property may leave you disappointed.

  Amazing staff

  Arbon being one of the first people to interact with at the front is AMAZING! When having to leave for excursions or coming back, he offers the best energy. The property is great and the room was great as well. Been here three times and have not been disappointed.

  Hassle-free pool day for toddlers and young kids

  We did a day pass when our cruise ship was at port, 8:30-4:30pm and it was a good time! Hassle-free with preschool kids. The pool was huge (the main pool), with lots of areas that they could stand in, like 1-2.5 foot deep sections of pool. Each pool chair reclined and had its own sun canopy so there was plenty of shade, WiFi worked well. Food portions were huge - in hindsight my husband, two children, and I could have bought and split 2-3 meals instead of 4 meals. We had a lot of food waste. Order food earlier than you think you’d want it, because it took a while to get our food (close to an hour?). Bathrooms are close to the pool which is great when you have little kids with short legs. Taxi from the port was $20, didn’t try to haggle, but the price seemed fair and we like to support the local economy.

  Great Stay

  The only issue we had when we were staying there was the water would cut off while in the shower. It would cut off for about 30 seconds. This happened several times while showering in the morning or late afternoon. It wasn't a big enough deal to complain about to the front desk, but I did let them know when checking out. We were in the Ocean View Royal suite in the main part of the resort room 520. The only other issue we had was the casino lost power on Friday the 24th. I don't think that was the resort’s fault. They did get it fixed very quickly. The casino had sports betting, slots, and table games. The rest of the resort was fantastic. Our room was huge and it had 1.5 baths. The cleaning staff did a great job. I thought the property was clean and all the employees were super nice and always willing to help. We had the breakfast buffet every day, which was nice as well. They had an omelet, pancake, and waffle station which was cooked fresh in front of you. They also had several other options on the buffet. The food at the restaurants wasn’t great, but we rented a car and ate at several restaurants off the property (just down the street). We ate the property twice. One day we had pizza and the other time we ate at the Sushi bar. Food wasn’t great but that’s been our experience at other properties throughout the Caribbean. That’s why we rent a car. We went to the Caribbean for sun and relaxation which is what we got. The beach was clean and the sand got hot. There was seaweed, but I got in the water everyday but once. The seaweed isn’t the resort’s fault. They did come around 2-3 times a day and cleaned it up. I do recommend taking a trip to Nevis. It was awesome as well. The grocery store (Ram’s) across the street was perfect for grabbing supplies. You literally crossed the street and there it was. I would definitely return to this property. It was my wife's birthday while we were there. I let them know ahead of time. They really went of of the way by decorating the bedroom and drawing us a bath. It was perfect. I got the "Wrecked in St Kitts package" when booking the room on the Marriott website. Well worth it. We had a great time.
