    Food lets the resort down.

Majority of the staff are lovely and incredibly helpful Brand new spa is lovely but staff not yet fully trained The food is sadly inedible. Doesn’t matter which restaurant you try the food is poor quality. A real shame as the rooms are nice, good size and housekeeping team work very hard Beach full of seaweed and not cleared which is disappointing Hotel has lots of loud music and pool games. Not a criticism just not our thing Expected better food from this brand. Restaurant lighting is like a day time diner. No music no atmosphere Reception team very helpful.

    A Much Needed Time Away

This was my third visit to the island (1980, 2009 and just last week…4/2024). This time with my family during my daughter’s spring break (coming from Brooklyn, NY). Arrived on the 21st and stayed til 28th, the weather was perfect! I am a Marriott (Westin) employee from NYC and couldn’t wait to relax. Wanted a room towards an outside building but none was ready. Settled with main building and wanted resort view but was given island view instead. Upon waiting for our room we ate at The Bohemian Beach Bar. Nice setting cool breezes and great drinks. Service was great each time we visited. The first night we ate at La Cucina, wasn’t busy but we waited an hour for our entrees. Arwee was packed which is why our food came out late. Visited Calypso for breakfast a few times during our stay plus the marketplace good choices at each. The pools were a delight, the main pool was a little loud at times with music that was playing so we went to the south pool to play trivia and bingo and the north just to relax. My daughter was able to to use a pool floatie we purchased and my mother in law was able to take back with her once our trip ended deflated of course. My daughter and went zip lining and visited the dolphin experience. Was a very relaxing vacation and I’m glad I came back to the St Kitts Marriott after 15 years away.

    Disappointing

Stayed for a week, and honestly the hotel is not worth the price. After a week, location was the only thing that I actually would recommend. I checked in online using the app the day before. I’m a Marriott member. Well I requested 2 robes and 2 pillows. We arrived the next day and those items weren’t in the room. It took hours for the robes to be delivered, after I inquired about them again, and it took three days for the 2 pillows, again because I inquired. The check in person at the front desk was not kind, rolling your eyes when you see a guest approaching is not nice. The whole checking process was not welcoming, he keeps saying that he couldn’t find my reservation and walking back and forth between desk. I was holding the reservation on my phone in my hand. But he did not check my phone to also confirm that I actually have a reservation and a confirmation. Our booking included a bottle of wine as courtesy, since I was there for my bday, we brought the bottle for dinner at the Calypso cafe. The manager told us that it was $25 to uncorked bottles, we told her that it was complimentary but ok, we were not ok with the ridiculous charge but we will pay. Nobody came to our table to open the bottle or bring glasses. We decided to have dinner at the hotel that night because it was St Kitts food, and we really wanted the experience. Horrible!!! The restaurant looks like half of the lights are off, it was just two tables occupied, no music. Nothing. Dead. Even though it was barely any customers, it took a while until we got some type of service. Breakfast was another ordeal. Our reservation included breakfast, but it seemed like not all the staff were trained, most of the morning we got an annoyed person about the vouchers, as if we were giving them a rare paper. It was very uncomfortable. Asking for coffee or juice shouldn’t be hard, especially for breakfast time.all our breakfast were buffet, so it takes time to go and get food. We were going and coming back to our table and coffee most of the time was served halfway the meal or about to finish. One morning I asked our server for a spoon for my oatmeal and was told go get it yourself at the table. Every day was a game of what type of service and attitude we will get on that day. Parking is another problem, this hotels does not follow guest first policy, because the tiny parking lot is for non guest. So some nights you will have to drive around until you can park. I’ve traveled extensively, and it is the first time that I’ve stayed in a hotel, specially a Marriott hotel that doesn’t live to the high standards. We experience and with a lot of very rude staff, one even ignored me and my husband when we went to place an order at the pool. Even one of her colleagues noticed that and came and apologized and took our order. Sadly I do not remember her name to properly acknowledge her amazing service and for saving the day. I have to give props to Selena (She should’ve promoted to the front desk, she did my morning every day receiving us with a warm smile) which was the lovely young lady hosting at breakfast , Cynthia from the tours company and one of the gentleman that works outside by the door helping with luggage, or getting a taxi. They were always courteous, always with a big smile and very welcoming.

GREAT HOTEL FOR A WONDERFUL VISIT TO ST. KITTS

I would highly recommend The St. Kitts Marriott Resort & Casino for future travelers. The location is great and apparently April is a great time to visit as its considered low season. My husband and I love the peacefulness - it was not crowded, there were lots of cabanas on the beach that were available doesn't matter what time you showed up at the beach. The workers everywhere were absolutely friendly and helpful. We loved our Suite 301 in the Newton Building. It was close to the Beach, the Pool and not a long walk to the main building. There are local Massage staff at the beach - for $40 I got a great half hour massage from Melissa on the beach. The beach itself was clean and the water heavenly for most of the days we were there. It rained the last 2 days we were there and that brought in lots of seaweeds that prevented us from going in the water. We were able to hang out in the Pool and Hot tub on those days. From the hotel you can do a 20 minutes walk into the village for many local restaurants. We were able to dine at Cathy's and Boozies - of the 2 I would recommend definitely going to Cathy's for authentic local food - so delicious. Boozies had a better atmosphere and ambience but the food although it looked great was flavourless - at least the dish I had - it was Snapper with creole sauce. My husbands lobster was good. Two days before we left we discovered a store in the main building of the hotel that has a grocery section at the back of it - here you can buy Carib beer for $2.50 US and juices for prices lower than the grocery store outside of the hotel. Wished we had found this store at the beginning of our trip as we were paying $6.00 for the Carib beer at the Bohemia Bar. For a Private Tour of St. Kitts we used Friendly Bob's Taxi Service - he is the best. We did the tour at our pace - we are senior citizens, and visited all the places we wanted to see. He was also able to arrange a tour for us to Nevis. He was so kind and helpful to us. We connected with him on Whatsapp so when we walked into the village for supper and couldn't walk back in the dark we messaged him and he arranged for someone to give us a ride back. Its just $10 by taxi back to the hotel.

Decent Huge Hotel in Good Location

My friend and I stayed at this property for 2 nights while visiting the island. The hotel is on the Atlantic Ocean which had very big waves so we didn't go in. We visited the pools 2 of 3 on site. I took a water aerobics class which was fun. The gym was the best hotel gym I have ever seen. The property is very big but in a decent location. Many restaurants close by (20 min walk) which I found out by talking to other guests. The bar's band was very loud at night and unfortunately could hear the exact words they were singing while in the room. The taxi stand was convenient bc we returned our car a day early. All in all a decent hotel if you don't mind the size.
