Trust me. Do not go here or you will regret it.

I have stayed at many all-inclusive resorts throughout the Caribbean, in different countries and across a wide range of budgets, from very affordable to truly luxurious. Without any doubt, this has been the worst of them all, even when compared to the most basic resorts. The infrastructure is clearly neglected. It is obvious that no major renovation or deep restoration has been done in years. At best, they perform superficial maintenance such as painting doors or walls, without addressing the overall deterioration. The result is an environment that feels old, worn out, and uninviting. The food and dining experience are simply the worst part of the hotel. The buffet offers almost the exact same food every single day, with no real variety or rotation. The themed restaurants are very few and have extremely limited menus, usually offering only a few options, and often one of them is already unavailable. There are also periods during the day when there is absolutely nothing to eat, and after 10:00 p.m. it is practically impossible to find food. Unlike other resorts, once items run out, they are not replenished. The restaurant system is terrible: there is no online reservation system like in other hotels. Instead, you must sign up in person upon arrival, which can result in waiting up to two hours outside the restaurant being attentive to when your room number is shouted, just to eat something very limited. The overall food quality is very poor, desserts are terrible, all the same cake with just a different color, which are frankly bad. The attitude of the restaurant staff is another major negative. In several cases, it actually feels uncomfortable to ask for anything; the service is unfriendly and sometimes borderline hostile. There are a few exceptions of kind and attentive staff, but they are exactly that—exceptions. The only truly positive aspect of the hotel is the entertainment staff, who are committed, energetic, and consistently friendly. They do their job as the rest of the hotel staff should. Upon arrival, the Wi-Fi was not working properly: it was very slow and constantly disconnected. After three complaints, they finally carried out a major effiecient fix and left it working at a good speed. Still, it is clear that without insisting, it likely would not have been repaired. The beach looks nice, but the sand is very poor—mostly rock (possibly something typical of the island). In general, the best beaches are not where the hotels are located, and while the sand is not great, they are beautiful thanks to the crystal-clear, turquoise water. For snorkeling, the island is excellent—probably the best part of the destination. One positive feature is the hotel’s lagoon-style beach, which is very pleasant for swimming. However, it is not a natural, paradisiacal setting: the beach ends at a wall and is surrounded by old, deteriorated infrastructure. You really have to make an effort to ignore the surroundings in order to enjoy it. If snorkeling is your priority, this island can be a good choice. If you are looking for truly paradisiacal beaches, I would recommend another hotel or even another island altogether, such as Aruba. Regarding the Sun Club, at first it does not seem to offer many benefits, but the private VIP pool is worth it for the added tranquility. That said, the hotel should manage the loungers and palapas better: many guests “reserve” them for their entire stay. By 6:00 a.m., it was already impossible to find an available palapa, even before sunrise. I chose this hotel because there are very few all-inclusive options on the island. I will definitely not return. If the sole purpose of your trip is snorkeling and participating in the entertainment staff’s activities and drinking, may be you can consider this hotel. If not, stay away from it.

    Low key vibes and fun!

Overall we had a great time. The hotel isn't anything spectacular in my opinion but it was nice, had great views, easy access to the beach, and their entertainment team was great. The food is hit or miss for the buffet so go early. The specialty restaurants, you need reservations for so make sure you do that in advanced

Beautiful Beaches - Less Than Ideal Resort Experience

Beautiful beaches, but very rocky. Lots of biting flies and mosquitos so spray with deet is a must. Sunscape food and drinks - lacked variety, low quality. Friendly staff, but entertainment was lacking. I look forward to coming back to Curacao but won't be returning to Sunscape.

DO NOT GO! Awful food, overpriced, outdated and dirty. Save your money.

Please save your money. I don't write reviews often but trust me on this one. I travel a lot and stay at a variety of properties. I was not expecting much for an all inclusive we all know the food and beverage are typically cafeteria quality. This food was below that - it was disgusting. Terrible quality meats that I could not even cut through. Minestrone "soup" that was all broth. Everything overly and heavily salted. Zero entertainment schedules. SAVE YOUR $$! So not worth it. We paid around $500/night for 2 people per room on a girls trip. The rooms are terribly old and outdated, with mosquitos and ants in them. Most of the staff was rude if you ask for anything and seemed very put off. It was one of the strangest experiences I have ever had. Some were nice, but many just could not be bothered. I guess they hate their jobs. Towels in our room were full o holes, pillows were hard and the size of a throw pillow. Terribly understaffed most days. Be prepared to wait in lines for watered down drinks and alcohol so cheap I would not serve to my worst enemies. The entertainment crew were probably the nicest. Spa was so so. Steam room was broken, there was no "welcome in, you are welcome to stay and use facilities" like most places. We had to ask. It was a girls trip so at least I was with people I enjoy spending time with! This place needs to be shut down and completely remodeled. Unsafe balconies and railings that someone could easily fall over.
