New management = Nightmare
My boyfriend and I finished our second visit to Temptation today, our first visit being Jan2025. As many others are posting, we noticed a huge difference in the management of the resort. Last year we had zero issues and would have rated 5 stars, this year we were given the run around many times, on top of issues we noticed with the resort itself. The pros: - We met great people (other guests) - The service staff (bartenders, restaurant staff, housekeepers etc) were phenomenal. Zero complaints and they are the only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1. - Good food at the buffet, bash and pool grill, and great food at à la cartes. We visiting the buffet, Flame and Sutra (teppanyaki table). Wonderful meals. - Attentive bartenders, great drinks The cons: - We booked directly through Temptation this year and paid for round trip transportation ($100). No one ever showed to pick us up, no one answered the phone when we called multiple times, no transfer company had a record of us. We ended up paying out of pocket for taxi from the airport. When we showed up to the resort the check in desk told us we needed to talk to the concierge the next day about it re: refund. The next day we sat at the concierge desk for nearly an hr while she called to confirm we didn’t get picked up (we didn’t) and finally offered $40 credit (for a service that wasn’t provided and half of 100 should = 50). She said she would talk to management about it being 50 and would email us, no email came. 40 was applied to the file (after checking ourselves another day). It’s certainly not about the $10 but the principle. - The pool and hot tub were cold. The weather wasn’t great during our stay which isn’t their fault but the pool was freezing and multiple days there were 0 guests in it. The hot tub was lukewarm at best, we saw several guests complain and the temp was never turned up. - The music played at the pool and Bash is terrible. Even during theme nights when they play better music, they switch it by 11pm. Many guests have said this is an issue and has been for years. The night will start out with a party and then quickly die down once they change the music to the same playlist as every other night. Unless you like hearing house, EDM, or only 10 second snippets of somewhat decent songs, it’s not a good vibe. - Last year we managed to skip the premier ‘welcome tour’ (sales pitch) and were not bothered by the premier sales team during our stay. We were stopped several times this year and had to say no multiple times to them before they’d walk away. One day we were approached twice within 20mins. - Late checkout had been booked as our flight home was late evening, and then we were told no it wasn’t available. Then they said ok but 12. Then 1. Then 3pm, but it took again, an hour of arguing to get what had already been booked. - Our transfer back to the airport was booked for 6pm (they told us) and when we went to checkout they said no it was 7pm. This could be a small error, but once again was not what we were told. - Our booking had a $200USD resort credit included and we asked multiple times if it could be used at the gift shop and were told yes. When we checked out they tried to charge us for the items. Then said ‘no, you had a 200peso credit’. When I showed the email confirmation proving $200USD they then said ‘but it can’t be used for the gift shop’. Even though we had asked multiple times and were told yes. If this is the case that’s fine but all staff need to be trained properly and know this information. - There was never a consistent answer for anything, every single time we asked about anything we were given a different answer (that ultimately benefited the resort and not us). - All of the interactions we had with the front desk, concierge, management were so frustrating that on our checkout day we actually opted to leave early and pay for a room at the Marriott to spend our time before having to go to the airport. By that point we had zero confidence they would honour our late checkout, allow us to use the resort until transfer, or if the transfer would even show up. Last year we booked with Air Canada Vacations and had zero issues with transfers, checking in, checking out etc. I would HIGHLY recommend that you do not book directly with Temptation if you are planning a visit. Staff/management at the concierge, check in/out desk were an absolute nightmare to deal with and ultimately will be the reason we do not return. From many conversations with other guests, this all has to do with new management. As mentioned above, this does not include any of the bar staff, servers, cooks, bellhops etc. they were the best part of our trip. This is a fun adult only resort but what an unfortunate, huge difference compared to last year.

TTR has changed for the worse - Needs to replace management
It pains me to write this review. After 14 years of loyalty and many return trips to this resort, I was very disappointed with changes new management is making. These included downgraded food quality, closing the pool and hot tub early, firing long time employees that fostered the unique experience, changes to the daytime pool activities so they are long and dull, and taking the loyalty of long time repeat guests for granted. The resort encourages the purchase of Premier memberships at prices in the tens of thousands of US dollars. This buys the opportunity to book at discounted prices, to obtain top shelf liquor, and access to special menu items. Memberships are largely based on the number of nights you might stay in the future – perhaps 500, 700, or even 1,000. Who commits to staying at a vacation resort for 1,000 nights??? Well, one of the sales pitches is to encourage sharing your nights with friends by making them “Beneficiaries”. Your friends buy some of your nights from you privately, and you then add them to your contract. Just think, you defray the cost of your membership, and you get to vacation with your friends, all enjoying the same experience. The resort doesn’t lose nights, because the member has already purchased them, right? Not now. New management has decided the Beneficiary program can result in all of those nights actually being used, so they took it upon themselves to treat beneficiaries as second class. You no longer share the contract, but get whatever benefits the resort decides they want you to have. When we checked in with our “member” friends we were informed that as beneficiaries we no longer had access to the same liquor selection, couldn’t sit at the same bar, and couldn’t attend the members’ lunch on the beach. All of these had been part of the beneficiary agreement. It was hard to believe that a bartender whom we had come to know and love over the years wasn’t allowed to serve us and had to shoo us away. The entertainment staff are called Playmakers. They were managed for years by "JJ". He was the main MC of the games and was largely responsible for the outrageously fun poolside atmosphere in the afternoon. We learned shortly after check-in that JJ had been let go the week before. The new Playmakers are attractive and high energy, but are not engaging with guests. They changed from a couple of games during the afternoon to one verrrrrry long drawn out one. We rarely stayed for an entire game for our week long stay. Complaints to Premier representatives were met with frowns and sad apologies. I could only feel sorry for them. New management was axing loyal employees and screwing repeat guests without regard. For anyone considering a visit to this resort, it is still a unique experience. However, it recently changed for the worse, and who knows what else will be changed in what is clearly a cost cutting strategy. Stay far away from any presentations or sales pitches to buy a membership. Don't reward bad behavior or engage in expensive contracts they're reluctant to honor. We can only hope that management changes again and the resort returns to the TTR that thousands of us once considered a second home.

Temptation-Please Remember Who You Are
First the good, then please read further. Butlers Ivan and Shadia ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Bartenders ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Romanza restaurant with chef Noel ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Entertainment ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Pool vibe 🥴👎👎👎 Temptation needs to wake up! Known for the best pool parties anywhere, it is weirdly off with very cold water in both the Sexy Pool and Floor 7 rooftop pool. When you are a “Pool Centric” resort, it should not be any mystery how to let people enjoy themselves. Nobody is in the water mingling when it is cold water. Nobody wants to participate in the games. The Playmakers are struggling to get people involved. If the water was warm, you would have everyone in the water hanging out and socializing. We were here in December and late January. Same disappointment both times. And we have been Premier members for many years. When we ask around about what has happened, we keep getting the same response. New CEO. Maybe that person needs to get in a cold pool and see how much fun it is. Since the marketing is aimed at the toptional pool party vibe, fix this already.

Fire the new head of operations/GM
This place has changed and not for the better. This was our 9th trip and because of the friends we travel with we still had a blast, but it’s not nearly as fun and enjoyable as it used to be to be. The new GM or head of operations since the original owner passed away has started running this place into the ground. He has fired or ran off some of the core long time employees who made this place great. Barely any playmakers entertaining during the day, less playmakers, the day time parry doesn’t get going till later in the day, the bash part at night has a hard shut down time at 2am when it use to go till 3 or even 4am as long as people were there having fun, the new rules and changes to contracts and taking away benefits that are already in place is taking away from the whole reason to being a member, fire the new head of operations or whatever his title is and hire some one who knows what this place has always been about and make it an awesome place to make a repeat vacation spot!
