Nov 07, 202521 Days in Cabo — Tesoro Los Cabos
We were in Cabo for 21 days this trip — about ten days at RIU Santa Fe, then the rest at Tesoro Los Cabos. We’ve been to Cabo 7 or 8 times now and have stayed at five different resorts, so we’ve had a good range of experiences. RIU Santa Fe wasn’t our favorite, especially with a family — it was busy and not as relaxing as we’d hoped. Too much party. But Tesoro really stood out for all the right reasons! ⸻ 🌅 Location & Views The location of Tesoro is perfect — right on the marina, close to everything. We loved being near Captain Tony’s, where we cooked our marlin, and being able to watch the nightlife and boats from our balcony. There’s just something magical about watching the sunrise and the fishing boats head out in the morning. If you’re booking, note that there are rooms close to the pool (which might be convenient with kids), but honestly, the marina view is unbeatable. There’s also an elevator by the pool that brings you right out by Captain Tony’s and a little corner store by the big marlin statue — our kids loved walking down there to buy candy. (Ask any local and they’ll point you right to it!) ⸻ 🛏️ Rooms The beds are very comfortable, and our room was clean and cozy. The only issue we had was with cold water — our shower took about 40 minutes to warm up! We called the front desk, but the solution was basically to wait for it to heat up. We didn’t want to move rooms, so we made it work. It wasn’t a dealbreaker, but definitely something the hotel could improve. ⸻ 🍽️ Dining & Service We really enjoyed dining at The Lighthouse in the evenings — the food was great, and our server Caesar was absolutely wonderful! He went above and beyond, always kind, attentive, and patient with our little ones. On our first night, he even brought us an umbrella before we asked — small things like that make a big difference. Even though servers have to walk all the way to the lobby to get drinks (which seems inconvenient for them), Caesar never once seemed bothered. He truly made our experience special. Thank you, Caesar — you were one of our favorites! For breakfast, we preferred the buffet by the pool — great variety and friendly staff. The Lighthouse breakfast felt a bit less welcoming with different servers, and it doesn’t open until 7 a.m. (which is tough when you’re up early with kids because of the time change). I do wish there was a 5 a.m. coffee spot because the in-room coffee tasted more like tea! ⸻ 🍹 Pool & Staff The pool area was friendly and fun, and a few staff members really stood out. One of our servers, I believe his name was Phadel, was fantastic — always smiling, friendly, and upbeat. There was also a bartender we called “the happy one” who made the day more fun every time we saw him. One other server we had a few times but I didn’t catch his name. They were great! Traveling with a 3-year-old and a 5-year-old can be chaotic — spilled drinks, tantrums, you name it — but the staff were so kind and patient. That made such a difference for us. ⸻ 💬 Final Thoughts We’ve stayed at Marina Fiesta, Pueblo Bonito Sunset, RIU, and now Tesoro — and Tesoro wins for location, service, and affordability. It’s comfortable, convenient, and full of friendly faces. We’ll be back. ❤️

Excellent location in the marina. 5 stars for access to everything . View from 3rd floor marina room was amazing. The pool was very nice. The pool service was excellent and Israel took care of us. The bad...no TV in the room 3 days. Told us problem with satellite but the bars and restaurants in the hotel all worked. They couldn't care less. .The room was really small. Would not have wanted to stay any longer. 3 days ok but not worth more. Didn't like the sneaky bell hop time share sales guy. The smell of the restaurants below our room cooking, comes right up and into the rooms. Nice enough for the price but we won't go back.

Pool Bar Heroes
We alway's enjoy our stay at The Tesoro. Staff is friendly, easy check in and a fantastic location. You can walk everywhere. We really love our time at the pool and Israel,Carcinoma, Jamie, Fidel and Al Fredo are just the best!!! So great at making our drinks and keeping us supplied😊just wish they opened up around 9:30. They did an awesome job, we'll see you in late February or late April. Thanks Stan and Tami

Pool time with friends
We had a great couple of days hanging at the pool. Israel was our waiter for both days and took great care of us. We enjoyed drinks and lunch and he made sure we were enjoying our stay! He did an awesome job!!
