Amazing
I have just returned from a fabulous week long vacation at The Fives Beachfront Hotel & Residences at Playa Del Carmen Mexico. This is truly a Five Star Plus experience from the many restaurant choices, all delicious food artfully presented. The staff in all areas of the resort are super friendly, attentive and accommodating. The beach is amazing with many chairs available at any time of the day. The lush tropical landscape is well cared for by the friendly staff. The highlight of my experience were the yoga classes by NRG2GO which were offered at 8:00AM and 5:00PM at the infinity pool location. The classes were professionally taught by Sara - a certified yoga instructor. She was super friendly and offered instruction in many levels of practice. What a way to start the day in this beautiful place in Paradise!!!

10/10 Destination Wedding
10/10 recommend getting married at The Fives Beach Hotel! Our wedding team consisted of Sofia, Isa & Mar. They were absolutely wonderful and planned every detail. They made sure everything happened as planned and were there for us the entire way. Thank you wedding team! There are also so many amazing things to say about the romantic dinner on the beach with waiter Christian Fenton & chef Roberto Soto. The service was 5 stars and the food was spectacular! Thank you Christian and Roberto!

AMAZING! Five Star Experience at the Fives!
The Fives is a five star experience! This was hands-down, the best place I have stayed. The staff, food, property, beach, rooms and activities all combine to make the Fives an incredible experience. I cannot say enough great things about the staff here. From the front desk, to the restaurants, to the bartenders and servers around the pool - these are such professionals, it really made our stay. Check in was a breeze, we were given a beautiful suite in the 16 block, near the plaza and a 10 min (lovely) walk to the beach! I was happy for this, I got my steps in every single day. We used Caribe Shuttle to get to the resort, and top-notch service from them. My mom and I travelled for our annual mom-daughter tropical getaway, and were so happy to be at the Fives, where there are so many activities to keep you busy. Yoga classes by NRG2GO offered at 8:00AM and 5:00PM at the Infinity Pool Deck, was such a serene and beautiful location. The classes are professionally taught by a certified Yoga Instructor; we loved it! Yoga had something for everyone, all levels and meditation too. There are also aqua classes, a full service gym and tons of other activities during your stay. PRO TIP: check the app daily for daytime activity times, and you can also toggle to evening entertainment as well. Most evenings, there was live music in the plaza, which is a great place to wait for your table and have a glass of wine. The plaza is near La Brassiere, Koh Thai, Mestizo, Flavours (Buffet) and Humo and Vino (a la carte simple dishes that you can eat right at the plaza.) The reservation system is genius. Simply show up at your preferred restaurant, and if there is not yet a table, they will give you a buzzer. Sea Olive, Muelle Ocho, Breeze Burger, Love Pizza, and Arezzo Italiano are located at the beach - there is also a pool bar that you can get a drink while you wait for your table, overlooking the ocean. Love Pizza at the beach location is perfect for lunch or dinner, and the pizza is wood/brick oven and SO good! Restaurants rotate being open (in low season) however you will not find this to be a problem at all. Every one of them were available at various days during our stay. We were able to try them all. Muelle Ocho is open for lunch and I highly recommend this if you love ceviche and fresh fish dishes. Our favourite was the Italian, but they are all so good. For Vegan/Vegetarian/Pescatarian -- there is an option at EVERY restaurant! All restaurants had Vegan options for every course; I was so impressed with this. Lizzards - by the activity pool has healthy vegetarian/vegan dishes, bowls, etc. There is also a smoothie bar open in the plaza every morning. A perfect stop after your morning Yoga or gym session. All smoothies on the left hand side of the menu are included, if you want extra such as protein powder (right side of the menu) that is a nominal fee extra. Breakfast at Flavours was perfection, every single morning. They have a a omelette station, eggs, tons of fresh fruit, smoked salmon, cereals, breads/bagels, english muffins. For meat lovers - there is sausage, bacon. The coffee is delicious! Staff - the resort has the BEST staff! They will make your stay so enjoyable with their professionalism, smiles and great conversations. Thank you Dennis, Janet, Wendy, Victor, Alejandro, Pedro, Angel, Fernando and all the staff that we were so lucky to meet with and chat with all week long. Entertainment Team - the Fives has an amazing entertainment team; there are so many activities you can join - beach volleyball, dance lessons, spanish lessons, and of course the morning and evening Yoga by NRG2GO. We had a beautiful room in 16111, overlooking gorgeous foliage and a glimpse of the Magenar pool. Angel was an an amazing housekeeper. Thank you Angel! Bars/drinks - an amazing selection of beers, mixed drinks, prosecco, white wine, red wine, and a mango daiquiri with a spicy rim was absolutely delish! You can go to the 1901 Cantina bar, gin bar, or any of the others around the property. There is something for everyone! Beach/chairs - SO many beach chairs, tons of shade available. My mom can't sit in the sun too long; and she was able to find shade every day. The infinity pool is great, there are seats in the pool, and while this one is not technically a swim up bar, a server will come to you. There are other swim up bars at the Fives too! Towels - easy peasy -- you just get a clean one at the towel stations, and exchange your old one. Another nice touch is that there are water and hibiscus water stations throughout the resort, at various locations, making it easy to get your water in! Try the hibiscus/watermelon water - so good! We were there when Hurricane Helene hit; and the staff/resort went above and beyond to ensure everyone's comfort and safety. We were provided Hurricane lunch boxes with water, snacks, and a sandwich. The resort was so well organized; they even called everyone in the morning to let us know that breakfast had opened. Landscaping/foliage - stunning! This resort has a lush, luxurious vibe complimented by the gorgeous landscaping. It is so clean and well kept. Along the way, you will also see monkeys and coati. We cannot wait for a return trip to the Fives, and I have told all my family/friends it's a must-stay! Book this resort, you will absolutely love it! Thank you for everything, I loved every minute and grateful to the staff for an amazing stay.

5/5 Experience
We were hesitant about the resort at first but after having our wedding here, I can say it was by far the best decision. Working with Sofia, Mariela, and Isabel, they made are experience great. Not only were we completely satisfied, but our guest (85 pax) have said on several occasions this was the best wedding that have been to and vacation. If you have hesitation, read no further. Definitely recommend The Fives Beach and Residences.

Mixed Review
Myself and my husband have just returned from a 2 week stay, on arrival impressions were great, we were greeted with a cold towel and offered a glass of sparkling wine, really nice touch. I’ll start with the positives - We had a really lovely time with the staff they are all super friendly and can’t do enough to help you - a special mention to Tomas & Ulises in Cantina 1910 they were wonderful and a credit to your team. Also Antonio at Mar holidays was excellent when we were booking our tours! We were placed in a large room in Villa 16 which, to be honest, was a little outdated and probably do with a little spruce up but was clean and comfortable, fast forward 6 days we had noticed a door in our room which was locked, obviously leading to another room….this was not an issue until 2 guests arrived. I just want to start by saying these guests were not loud/noisy they were genuinely having a normal volumed conversation and we could hear every single word as if they were in our room - there is about a 2 inch gap from the floor to the bottom of the door. We were obviously not very happy about this as it was a complete invasion of our … and their privacy so we went to reception to complain - reception were accommodating and provided us with a new room, this time in villa 20, this room was much more modern (unsure why we weren't given this room in the first place as we had paid extra for a nicer room) as it was a little late I went into the shower which I quickly realised was leaking ( the shower switch was jammed so both shower heads came on and the shower was not sealed properly) so water was all over the bathroom floor which I had to clean up each time we showered. A few nights later I was awakened at 6am by a really loud rustling noise coming from the kitchen area I sat up in bed and a Coati ran out…my husband got up to investigate how the Coati got in and we realised our terrace door did not close properly so he carefully jammed the door closed so this didn’t happen again, the strange thing is a second lock had been fitted (not very well) so the hotel are aware it doesn’t lock? Strange… Every day work was going on in the room above us (don’t think this should be happening either as anything could go wrong)…and it did. Water was dripping from the bedroom ceiling so I called Reception who sent someone to come and look at it - after asking me how much water or if i was able to stop it then telling me it was the aircon unit. So the man came and left our room, went upstairs and stopped whatever was leaking then came back and told us it was okay now but didn’t attempt to clean any water up, so I did this. Just another note, it’s not very polite to tell your guests that they are unable to order food at the beach as they have not purchased a Bali Bed at 3000 pesos. The staff member that had to tell us this was very embarrassed and you could tell he felt bad. You claim this is a 5 star resort but treat your guests differently because they didn’t pay extra? We were not given any option at reception for upgrading. The food was good in Koh Thai, Arezzo, and the restaurant by the adults only pool (open for lunch) Mexican stands at the beach were also tasty but others were a little disappointing for us. On the whole the hotel is lovely and we really loved the jungle walk through the resort seeing all the wildlife (just not in our room) some parts could do with upgrading but the whole pay extra for this and that really put a dampner on it for us as this wasn’t a cheap holiday to begin with. Some day- time things to do indoors for adults incase of bad rain would also be good - we experienced this with Hurricane Helene, which the staff did an excellent job in preparing for! Just a side note also, the shop is EXTORTIONATE $24 for sunscreen and $10 for chips is crazy so make sure you bring your own!
