  Planning my next visit as I write this!

  As an Epic member I have been numerous times to this resort and I enjoy it because of the amazing service, food and benefits. My ambassador was DANIEL, who did everything possible to make sure we had a great time. He arranged reservations, bali beds, rooftop dinner, massages/pedicures/manicures, as well as checked on us often. Shoutout to Omar, another amazing amabassador, who helped too! Rosy at the Epic check in is the perfect person to greet new guests and I appreciated Veronica, one of my former ambassadors, remembering me and being so friendly. We enjoyed the new Seasons restaurant too. Here are some of my favorites: Rooftop Chef Cooked Meal: Diego and Cesar, who made everything perfect for us! Arezzo: Aime, who was friendly and so much fun as a server Epic Member Dinner: Juan, who was attentive and thought of everything Santa Sirena: Mercado, the manager, who we missed seeing this tIme but met him last summer when he started; Israel, for his incredible mixology, and Jorge, who was the best server. Mar Holidays; Diana, who came to our Bali bed and answered every question and was very friendly Spa: Georgina and Ana did the best massages Last but not least, we appreciate our relationship with Epic staff: Phil and Fernanda! I'll be back in a few months....then a few months after that!

  Great hotel and would definitely recommend however if you are vegetarian then evening meals are limited.

  Overall experience was very good. Accommodation is very good and staff are amazing. The only issue we had was the lack of choice for vegetarian evening meals. Our daughters had booked for my husband and I to have a candle lit on the beach as a birthday gift for me. The vegetarian meal prepared by Guillermo and his team was incredible and our hostess Monserrat was very attentive which made the whole experience very special for us. This leads me to think that there is the expertise within the hotel to produce good quality vegetarian food and the senior management need to tap into this knowledge to provide a better service to all their guests.

  Staff fab

  First visit to this hotel. First impression not so good as you turn the corner on the couch it’s a building site in front of it, but it did get better . When you meet the tui rep on the organised date and time and place that the letter tells you he’s not there the letters old the person’s left and the place is different so that was not a good start. We did eventually find him. He got us onto the TUI app which is rubbish and he agreed it was rubbish and doesn’t work. The Hotel app is better and does give you what’s on in the hotel and the restaurant times, but we were not given that until day before we left ! Restaurants there are seven as well as street food vendors around the property selling burgers on the beach which are fabulous and traditional Mexican food in the square and in other places on the beach it’s a shame the beach doesn’t offer coffee ice creams but there are several bars where you can get soft drinks . No scramble for a sunbed which was fab although people do put towels on the beds which is pointless cause there are plenty of beds to go round . All the swimming pools were cold but we did visit end of January early Feb the sea in fact was warmer to swimming although there is quite a bit of seaweed but it’s nice to see they spray the sand with a bug spray and we never got bitten once and hardly any flies anywhere which is great. Some of the staff don’t speak very good or any English so it’s quite hard to get understood. One of my biggest bug bears was I’m a vegetarian and none of the food in any of the restaurants are labelled in the buffet or the street food. . No complaints on the cleanliness of the whole hotel toilets were immaculate down by the seaside and everywhere our room was cleaned every day . Due to the lack of communication I’m sure we missed plenty of events which we’re going on. We did enjoy the silent disco but some of the entertainment was directed at children in the evening and The were quite a few so the adult entertainment didn’t start till nine thirtyish. Our room was 06243 and to get to our room it’s two flights of stairs which is unfortunate as my husband has reduced mobility and the lift wasn’t working. Something that wasent mentioned to us also. outside our room on level 2 to banisters were missing which I thought was extremely dangerous for small children that could’ve fallen through them from two floors up picture will be shown at the end. Also our room the shower leaked over the floor made extremely slippery. We had to use their towels every day to mop it up. There was also a smell of drains. A little information about the restaurants the Italian was probably the best, but it was hard to get in there at least an hour wait every night. Second best is the French which we also had breakfast and every day rather than go to the buffet in the main flavours dining room the Mexican restaurant was also very good staff were lovely food was good. The lizard for me was excellent but it only has served lunch. It’s a vegetarian and vegan. There was also a sushi bar but we didn’t try that all the restaurants get busy and there are queues go early and the same with breakfast. There is no booking system it’s first come first served. And residents get priority.

  Disappointed 😞

  Upon arrival here it is a beautiful resort, great walks around to see monkeys and wild life. We booked the 1 bedroom penthouse as a treat for my 60th birthday. The penthouse was a real let down, the free standing bath we could not use as the tap was positioned so it would flood the floor, the roof top was awful, all furniture had huge holes in,you could not sit at the table, the four poster bed was falling apart, the hot tub we filled one morning, got back in the afternoon it was empty, we went to reception to report the bath, roof top and hot tub, they asked were we going to room now, we said yes we waited nearly 2 hours, nothing, nextday I messaged through WhatsApp they sent a maintenance guy changed plug in hot tub and showed him bath, rooftop nothing was done about rooftop or bath, next day filled hot tub again, came back later empty again. I don't expect to pay £6.5k for a holiday to be spending time sorting out a room that should be 5* the beach is nothing like Tui picture it has been photo edited. If you smoke good luck its a huge hotel with only 2 smoking areas. Strict no smoking anywhere else. The restaurant Flavours and Brasserie breakfast is always cold unless you have omelette. The other restaurant were really good including the Brasserie at night. We found it really hard at lunchtime unless you want fast food.

  Return visit but now have concerns regarding dinners

  I spent my 60th birthday solo at the resort and had a fantastic time. Ive rebooted to return im May for my partners 60th but am now really worried as there are quite a few negative reviews regarding the restaurants. when I was there the buffet was open every evening and I was otherwise able to book a restaurant in the morning for the same evening. The system seems to have changed and am now worried we won't have the same wonderful experience for his birthday if we cant get dinners each evening
