  Great escape from the everyday routine

  Great experience for all sences. If you are an art lover, walk through the entire hotel and discover great art pieces. The biggest recommendation is however the spa area. I was fortunate enough to met Monica who was absolutely amazing . After a very short conversation she reads right through you and gives you definitely one of the best massages of you life.

  Perfection

  This is a most beautiful resort with near exceptional service. The art, decor, rooms, and amenities are fabulous! Francisca, the hotel manager was amazing to work with as well. A+

  Wonderful Hotel In A Great Location

  Stayed for one week on a b&b basis in a Kopke garden double room. A good sized bedroom with a comfortable bed and large bathroom. Great views of the river and the city from the private garden which had two sun loungers. The breakfast was varied and catered for all tastes. Location couldn't of been better. Swimming pool was also a plus but became very busy mid to late afternoon. All in all a great stay and we would definitely return.

  ### Lovely hotel, but the bathroom setup needs attention.

  We stayed as three adults in one Deluxe Room. Overall, we had a lovely stay and found the hotel to be clean, well presented and beautifully decorated, with some lovely artwork both inside and outside. The pool is ideally situated to enjoy the sun throughout the day, with beautiful views over the river. Our room was a good size, with a large and very comfortable bed, and a single bed had been set up for the third adult. The staff were also pleasant, friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The main issue, and the reason I couldn’t give the hotel five stars, was the bathroom layout. There is no door separating the bathroom from the bedroom, and you have to pass the bathroom area to access the toilet. There are also mirrors positioned in such a way that, from certain areas of the room, you can see into the bathroom. For three adults, this caused a significant privacy issue. Whenever someone wanted to shower or get changed, the other two people essentially had to move outside onto the patio, or get dressed in the toilet. I appreciate that this may not be an issue for a couple sharing the room, but it could equally be a concern for families, particularly those travelling with a teenage child. There were also a few smaller points that could easily be improved: - The patio needed some weeding. - The tea and coffee station, as well as the patio furniture, were only set up for two people despite there being three guests. - The robes provided were very small.(approximately a women’s size 8–10). - The toilet has no fan or window for ventilation. - On one day, the tea and coffee were not replenished, and the cleaner had left cleaning sprays in the room. Despite these issues, we really enjoyed our stay. It is a lovely hotel with a great setting, comfortable rooms and friendly staff. With a few relatively small improvements—particularly addressing the bathroom privacy issue—it could be an exceptional hotel.

  Wonderful hotel with exceptional people

  I was quite nervous when I booked this trip as it was a surprise trip for my sister's birthday. There were a low number of reviews to read as the hotel was so new so I was cautious. However from the moment we arrived at Tivoli Kopke Porto Gaia, everything about our stay felt exceptional. The care, thought and attention shown by the entire team made it even more memorable than I could have hoped. Every little detail seemed to have been considered, and those small moments of kindness and personal touches made such a difference to the whole experience.  
A particular mention to Fransica on Guest Relations who was simply exceptional. Her attention to detail, generosity and genuine desire to make my sister’s weekend special was extraordinary. She helped create little moments that turned a lovely stay into something truly unforgettable. The service throughout the hotel was impeccable — warm, polished, attentive and genuinely thoughtful without ever feeling overdone. The food was out of this world - I have never seen so many choices at any hotel I have ever stayed at for breakfast! Tapas on the terrace was also a delight! The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful, and every member of staff we encountered made us feel incredibly well looked after. The photos on the website and social media pages do not do it justice the in person experience is even better! We stayed in a Garden View Suite which has a little outside garden which was great to have with lovely views of the Douro river. The spa team were exceptional. The spa itself is beautiful and serene, but what really stood out was the professionalism, warmth and care of the therapists. Cristiana and Evellyn were simply fantastic and the treatments were like nothing we have ever experienced before - the whole experience felt incredibly special from beginning to end. With tailored treatments which were simply outstanding.  What impressed me most was the consistency across the entire hotel. From reception, guest relations and housekeeping to the restaurant, bar and spa teams, everyone seemed genuinely invested in making our stay perfect. No request was too big or too small. If you go make sure you visit the Port Cellar which was a wonderful experience! The hotel even has a Harris Hawk to keep the seagulls away!! This was not simply a wonderful hotel stay — it was an experience we will remember for years. Thank you to the entire Tivoli Kopke Porto Gaia team. You were exceptional.
