Cultural Crafting by the pool.
We enjoyed an afternoon of crafting an Eye of God decor with the entertainment the ladies today. Learning about the history of this art and being lead in creating our very own pieces was fun! Thank you to Abigail & Nataly for your help!

Fantastic Resort
My wife and i visited here 1/5-1/10/26 and absolutely loved it. We are Legendary members so it made sense we chose this after staying at Unico 2087 last February. From the moment we arrived to when we departed, the staff did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable and comfortable. Yes, being members, we were approached with upgrading our membership a couple of times, but once we expressed our wish to not upgrade, were left alone. That was nice. Andrea, our personal concierge was wonderful, and similar to 20-87, updated us on daily activities and restaurant reservations each day. Regarding our meals...phenomenal food - three restaurants and the rooftop snack bar were all wonderful. Service was impeccable and portions were perfect for our liking. The sushi at the Asian restaurant was excellent, All meals at Italian the same. Mexican restaurant was def good, but we enjoyed the others more. Steak tacos on rooftop were amazing, as were the tuna bites on sweet potato crunch. Each plate was a work of art. The best aspect was the fact that I cut open my right leg before departing on our trip, so I, unfortunately, had to keep my right shin dry all week. The staff around the legendary pool and rooftop pool were soooo accommodating when it came to making sure I was ok. I wish i could remember the young lady's name at the Legendary pool, but she was just amazing all week! If I had one tiny little gripe, it would be the fact that because we stayed at a different hotel prior to our stay at Unico, transportation was NOT available one way back to the airport, mainly because I didn't book it far enough in advance. I kind of thought this was petty, considering the transportation company was obvioulsy there picking up other guests on that Saturday departure, but it was ok. Ubers are very reasonable in PV. Overall, this property is MUCH smaller than 2087, which we loved. Service, food quality, amenities, the beach, pools.....it was all amazing! We will go back!!!

Lovely week
Let me begin by saying that we had a lovely week at Unico 20 105. We went to Unico 20 87 last winter and wanted to try the new location in PV. There were many great things about 20 105 but also some areas where they could improve. For those who have been to 20 87, don’t expect this to be the same experience. I think 20 105 should make sure to distinguish itself from 20 87 as a more relaxing and low key getaway as that is what it is. Pros: -Relaxing: don’t expect this resort to be the same as Unico 20 87. It seems to be an older crowd and much less of a party atmosphere (quiet atmosphere, quiet music). They also don’t have as many daily activities (fitness or crafts). -Beautiful decor and ambiance: they did a great job with the overall aesthetic. Rooms, restaurants, and lobby decor all beautiful. -Cafe: all day options for coffee, lattes, pastries, sandwiches, and small salads. -Food: food was excellent. Menu items were curated and portions were appropriate as to reduce waste. There were many options and they were able to make adjustments when asked. -Friendliness: all of the staff here were lovely. They went above and beyond to always smile and greet you. -Staff: Eugene at Aquamadre, Orlando and Betza at Legendary pool bar, Rosario at the spa, Ivette and Leonardo at Alto pool bar, Hector and Alexander at Lia, and Axel at lobby bar stood out as being excellent staff. They worked hard and were very friendly. -Live music at night in the lobby: there are nights with live music (preferred) and a couple nights with a DJ. -Whale excursion: we did the whale excursion one morning through Vallarta Adventures which was amazing. -Spa: I used my resort credits to get an 80 min massage and included with that was the hydrotherapy circuit. The spa was beautiful, my theorist was lovely. The hydrotherapy circuit was cool (alternating between hot and cold experiences). I would have never paid full price for the massage so I was glad to have the credits and only had to pay 25% service fee plus tip. -Taxis and airport transfer: we used the airport transfer through the hotel which was simple. There were also taxis readily available to take you off site whenever needed. Cons: -No fruit ceviche! This was my favorite at 87 and I was sad that it wasn’t on the menu here. There could have been more fresh fruit in general but especially for breakfast and lunch options. -I’d prefer there to be some special cocktails listed or a small menu of drinks. Sometimes it’s harder to think of what you want off the top of your head and it’s nice to have a menu to choose from. -Running out of things: multiple days the staff had to say that they ran out of ingredients. They didn’t have the calamari one night at dinner, they ran out of vanilla flavor at the cafe for more than 2 days straight, didn’t have tajin at one point and had to get more, ran out of patron at the pool bar one afternoon, and then the bartender at the pool bar had to go get more ice himself one day. Just seems like they need to tighten up their ordering and supply. I also don’t think the only bartender should have to leave the bar to go get ice themselves- they should call and someone else should deliver the ice/supplies to them in my opinion. -Noise in the room: we had suite 105 which is on the ground level and a swim up room. The draw back is that you can hear quite loudly the live music from the lobby at night. On early nights, we were okay because we sleep with a white noise machine but I can see how this would be unpleasant for some. We could also hear the people in the neighboring room at times. -Pool party: the pool party was simply not one. For one hour, they seemingly played more upbeat music but it wasn’t loud and there was nothing special that happened. Since we’ve been to Unico 20 87, this was strange to us and seemed like a sad attempt. -Gnats in the room: there were always gnats in our room, usually just a couple and no big deal, but one day we had so many. We found out they were congregated outside of our sliding door. -Inconsistencies: sometimes you just wouldn’t get what you asked for (tajin rim, specific kind of alcohol), or you’d order the same thing and it would be somehow different. It wasn’t a big deal but some work on consistency is needed. -Breakfast experience: our first morning we had a very bad experience at Lia. It was super slow, left sitting with no drinks, no food. It ended up taking 45 min to get some of our food and then we never even got the other food we ordered. Not sure if there was an issue with cooks, our server, or the ordering system they use. We were worried that this was how breakfast would be everyday but it was much improved the rest of the week. We made sure we told our host about the experience right after so perhaps the restaurant team was aware and made appropriate adjustments. -Spa prices: I used my resort credit for a massage but without that I would have never paid full price. The prices are just too expensive. I think they would actually make more money if they lowered the prices some and then more people might book appointments. All in all I would recommend it as long as you’re okay with a low key relaxing vacation. It was a wonderful week and we were sad to leave. I think they have room from some improvements but they’ve only been open for 5 months so I’m sure that will come with time.
