  Great relaxing resort that we will definitely visit again

  Excellent resort. Very nice and clean. Beautiful views. Nice beach. The service was excellent, especially our butlers Anel and Uriel. They are the best! Also, the members pool bartender Axel was great. Very experienced and friendly. The staff serving drinks/food around the pool were great as well. The room was good, although the airconditioning in all of the resorts is not great. You cannot get it cool enough for us. The blackout curtains really helped and were the best that we had ever seen. Little magnets kept them attached to the wall and kept the early morning light out very well. The pool temperature was moderate but without heated pools would be very chilly in the winter months. There is also no hot tub for the winter. The music was ok, but more Rock would be nice. That is why we prefer the Hard Rock resorts, which always have a pool, or two, that have rock instead of Pop. The party/activity pool music was way too loud for most of our stay. It would be nice if they could turn it down a little. Overall, we had a fantastic time and will definitely go again.

  Loved the resort! Skip the suite....

  This was my 2nd trip to Unico RN but this trip was a little different. I had a temporary disability while traveling but I knew from previous trip that this would be the perfect place to recoup and I was right. The resort was just as beautiful and clean as my first stay during the soft opening. I was immediately greeted by Uriel and Andrea who made sure my suite would soon be ready while I grabbed lunch. Uriel had reserved a Bali Bed for me at Alto's rooftop pool so once in the room and changed, that was my first stop. I was on property for 10 relaxing days and I can't thank my team of butlers enough. They helped in more ways than usual as they knew I was having problems with my balance that too much sensory affected. They reserved Bali beds and pool chairs for me daily at Alto and for dinner if I was unable to eat in the restaurants, they made sure I could still eat from the restaurants with room service they placed for me. They, as well as Andrea, kept me posted of activities, how busy they were and what to expect so I would know if I could participate. Knowing I couldn't participate in as much as usual this trip Andrea and Anel made one of the tote bags for me. I thought that was very sweet and it meant a lot to me. I am a member of Legendary and traveled as a Chairmen, so I had an Estancia Suite. This was the only downfall of my stay and my only warning to future guests. DO NOT stay in an Estancia Suite UNLESS you are also using the connecting room with 2 beds for a Presidential as well. The resort has known since opening in 2025 that the doors connecting these two rooms (end rooms on each floor) are not only not soundproof, but not up to standard of any hotel, much less a resort of this status. The spacing between the door and the ground is great enough that you can see not only a great deal of light, but also TV coloring change, etc. That was 2nd to the fact that at no point while I was in room 901 did, I feel like I was alone. I could hear the people in 902 FaceTiming their children, drying their hair, discussing spa appointments, and even sneezing. On a Saturday afternoon I could tell you what football game they were watching. I was fortunate as Anel, Uriel, Francisco with Legendary) and Carlos (from Unico) worked with me on my 4th night as I had to have a sense of privacy and sleep through the night which up until downgrading my room, had not been possible. Francisco and Carlos found an available room for me, and Anel helped me pack and move my things. The room was smaller but still beautiful and nicely laid out. The only thing missing was the larger bath with vanity, double shower, and my favorite, the soaking tub. Anel and Uriel helped me with transportation off property when I went into PV to dinner. They assisted with changing and making reservations on and offsite. A bonus to Unico is the area. It's beautiful and quiet yet you're close enough to town that you can go into shop, for dinner or to art galleries. They also helped with the selection of art galleries. The beach was closed 7 of the 10 days I was there for Hurricane Polo and then Rachel. The weather never got bad enough to make any day a wash out. The beach being closed didn't impact my stay and the resort stepped up its activities. I wouldn't hesitate to travel again during the hurricane season. Alto rooftop pool offers the best views, food and drinks with different areas of seating bar side, couches, swings or chaises in the pool. I had a Bali bed which was perfect even when the heat and sun became too much of an afternoon. Gabriel, Maria and Irving (made THE perfect hot and skinny margarita) were there every morning with cold waters and then lunch. Gabriel was always helpful with my Bali bed closing it when the sun moved to block the sun but still catch that great breeze. The spa is still unmatched. Last year I was very impressed with the spa including hydrotherapy. This year did not change my opinion. It is still the best hydrotherapy circuit I have seen at a resort. The attendant who I wish I had written his name down, was very understanding that I was unable to do the steam portion of the circuit this time and instead curtailed it to fit my needs. What I do wish is that there was signage somewhere pointing out spa etiquette of quiet. If you are requesting a massage therapist, I strongly recommend Renee. She was so good that I requested her for each of my sessions. I'm already planning a spring trip back when I am hopefully back to 100% and can fully appreciate and enjoy the resort. It was defiantly the right spot to recoup. You couldn't ask for a better staff or more beautiful property.

  Exceptional!

  At Unico with another couple for 8 days ending October 2nd. First time at this resort and found it to be outstanding. Food and service was exceptional. Special call out to Axl and Alberto at the members pool. These guys made our trip extra fun and memorable! Butlers Dylan and Francisco did a nice job too. Final call out to the mixologist Adrian for making the class extra fun. The staff and leadership at the Agua Madre were outstanding as well. Will be back!

  Great Time

  We visited this resort September 15-21 of 2026. Our butlers Anel and Uriel were phenomenal. They made our experience much smoother. The resort itself was very nice and the food was also. The members pool and the bartender Axel were a great time! Amy who works at the legendary desk is super friendly and has amazing customer service. Hiram our sales representative, made our contractural upgrade much easier and smoother! Overall, we had the wonderful time! Mark Bowling
