Another fabulous stay at Unico 2087
Unico is probably our favourite resort out of the Legendary hotels. We spent 5 nights at HRRM, and had a good time but it just doesn’t compare to the service, setting and quality of Unico. From the moment of arrival, the staff, specifically Ami, made us feel very cared for. We were thrilled to be assigned a large King room with a beautiful view on the top floor. The aroma therapy and pillow menu are a super nice touch as is the turn down service. Our room was spotless and cleaned twice a day!! Thank you, House keeping staff! Everyone works so hard and the hotel and grounds are meticulously maintained. It was nice to see some familiar faces (our 3rd visit) and several remembered us. This year we again had our fabulous butler Mario who made everything seamless, making dinner reservations for us right away to ensure that we could get in to the different restaurants during our stay. (Compared to HRRM where you can’t make dinner reservations anymore, this was such an added benefit and took the pressure off me each day.) My husband unfortunately was attacked by mosquitos a day or so earlier and the bites were really bothering him. When we mentioned it, it got passed over to Antuan, the butler supervisor, as it was Mario’s day off. Antuan was so kind and went out of his way to find my husband a tube of anti-itch cream and even came to deliver it to him by the pool area! Our favourite restaurants were Mura House (a la carte) and La Carisa (Italian). Our waiters there were absolutely fantastic and the food outstanding! A big thanks to Luis (at La Carisa) who was so much fun, personable and attentive, and to Marco, the manager at Mura House, for finding us a table at an earlier time. Jacob and Roberto were amazing waiters and we shared lots of laughs with them. I also can’t forget our waiter at the Grill 20 87 who was fantastic and went over and above to make sure we were well taken care of. See photo! We had fun in the night club as well and kudos to the deejay for playing my husband’s favourite song and other classic rock to get all of us up dancing. The daytime entertainment crew, Antonio and Ricardo were fantastic as well. All in all, this is one of our favourite hotels with a beautiful beach to boot. We really enjoyed our stay! Muchas Gracias Unico!

Good option for Riviera Maya
We spent a week at Unico, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Pro's: - Good quality of food generally. Unlike the typical all inclusive, majority of food was a la carte (only buffet was one of the breakfast options). - Overall friendly and attentive staff. Simple things like moving the parasols for us when the sun moved and checking in regularly if we wanted more drinks. Always greeted good morning/evening by any staff member passing by - Good drinks selection, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic - Beautiful and well kept grounds - Our room was very spacious and well kept - Great service by our local host Manuel Con's: - At the beginning of our stay we were unknowingly pulled into a sales pitch for time shares. Was initially sold to us as a short "presentation" about the hotel which we thought was a focus group to give feedback in exchange for money off one of the big excursions. Be weary of this and avoid getting sucked in like we did (we did decline initially but felt compelled to attend after some pressure from the staff member). Took much longer than they said it would, even when we tried to highlight that we have no interest and this is wasting our precious holiday time. Further sales attempts were made at checkout too to prepay for a future holiday. Overall we would recommend Unico for a week long holiday. The overall food, experience, beach and service was great. Just be mindful of any sales attempts and be firm to avoid these. Special shoutout to our friendly and polite local host Manuel who helped us with all our queries to the best of his ability.

Terrible! Hotel is not prepared for emergencies at all!
A group of friends and I recently spent a week at Unico. The accommodations were nice. Rooms were clean, pools were nice, restaurants were decent. Unfortunately, the water went out during our stay due to a water pipe issue. We were without water for a full 24 hours. The hotel was inadequately prepared for such an event. They failed to communicate with guests during the event and offered zero solution. They kept telling us that the event was not their fault and the best they could offer us was a bucket of water to use for showering. Our trip was ruined. We understand that things happen but the lack of preparation and guest accommodation during such an event are absolutely unacceptable. I will never stay here again.

Be careful of their scamming price match policy
I almost never write any negative reviews but this really caught me offguard. I have been a loyal enjoyer of the Hard rock Brand for decades so I was evidently excited to try this brand as well. I booked with them directly during the black friday sales. Evidently, I had assumed they would offer the best deal but there were many others found very easily through google that I later spotted, after my reservation. I followed the guidelines price match, and they promised they would respond within 2 business days. After a week of no responses, I was seriously worried and contacted their members which told me they would deal with it and that they couldn't contact the price match department. I had to redo the entire process a second time. Then after another week of still nothing, I redid the entire process again, only to be told the price match team did not return their emails. Then in the same conversation, the representative actually has the nerve to say, actually, they did contact them but they couldn't find how to navigate the site, 2 weeks later! She then proceeds to call someone who claims that the difference was too much, and that I would be rejected despite the fact I have offered multiple proofs at the time and tried to help them navigate, only to be completely ignored by the price match team. I have never felt so insulted, that they would denigrate their long time customers intelligence to this level. I will never be going back. Absolutely shameful and needs to be addressed immediately.
