Not for us, NOT a resort
Ok, on a positive note, the location and bus services are amazing. The staff were relatively nice and welcoming but that’s about it for positives. The hotel is already looking run down with paint chipping, the pool areas were closed multiple times for reasons we weren’t made aware of but seemed for cleaning something out of the water, but it was closed multiple times for over an hour. The bar had run out of the take home glasses with the refill specials and we arrived on a Sunday at 4 pm and we were finally checked in at 5:48. If it takes almost 2 hours to check in, something is desperately broken. The coke refill stations were always out of ice, the lines for food in the restaurant were always long, having to stand in line for 45 minutes for pizza after standing in line at the park all day is awful. They seem surprised people want to eat at 7 and are woefully unprepared for crowds. So if you like very large crowds and very slow service then this is your place, look no further. We will definitely pass on this “resort” ( it does not have the feel of any type of resort) for our next universal trip for sure.

Will not return
My stay was terrible!!! I paid almost $500 for an outside pool entrance room. The shower didn’t work!! I called the front desk was placed on hold for 15 minutes they then transferred me to a manager who told me to hang on they would send someone up to check it out. 2 men came up to my door about 30 minute later did not look at the shower. They said that there was a problem with the pipes from the rain to give it 30 minutes. Being patient I waited. (My party of 4 sitting in sweaty wet clothes at 10pm no shower) we checked the water again no water in the shower. I called the front desk again they finally agreed to move me to another room!! They moved me to a 2nd floor room with no view. I just took the room so we could shower!!!! So the next day I called the hotel after checking out to explain how unhappy I was about this stay and they informed me there was nothing they could do. I’m warning people not to stay here!!! They have many machines outside due to plumbing issues!!! This resort needs a major upgrade!!!!

Management has less customer service then the agents
I have never been to a hotel where customer service was so lacking, from the will call at tickets to the managers themselves. They take complaints and really don't care for them. Go to the Royal Pacific Resort instead or any hotel on universal beside this one. whole management team needs an overhaul, minus one.

Avoid this hotel , is a nightmare. Is advertised as a value and honestly it doesn’t have anything of value .
I actually stay at this hotel and let me tell you is huge , for a family with disability mobility is a hazard, the first room they give me it was a mess , with a horrible smell of mold , I check the room and the sink was full of mold and the curtains on the shower had mold and smell horrible. I call the front desk and ask me to go to the lobby to get other room , they take around 1 hr to move me to a different room, way to far from the original room so a lost of time there . So we made it to the 2nd room and as soon I walk to the room I noticed the mini fridge was open and it wasn’t cold , the room was super hot Apparently the A/C wasn’t working So call again the front desk and explained that things was not working. By that time it was already 11:pm so the manager call me and send the technician to check on the problem. The technician was so rude and tell me that everything was working fine That mini fridge was fix and he pretended to check the issue on the a/c but he didn’t do nothing. We have to sleep on underwear that night , it was pass midnight my kids where sleep already. Next morning I call early so they can fix the issue, and they do . Is not working at 100 % but at least is not hot . I didn’t call back but I’ll never come back to this hotel . I understand is a value hotel But honestly, for the price you can stay in a Hyatt , holiday inn , or dock side , surf side resort that is more new in case you want early access to the parks . This Loews resort cabana bay is horrible , old and I’m not talking about the retro style, the beds are horrible the whole place is dirty on the carpet in the rooms and halls , I had a horrible experience. Be aware of this hotel, trust me is not worth it, there’s more options for a better hotel than this one.
