    The Perect Getaway!

Met every expectation we had, great staff, clean and beautiful facilities, the most relaxing vacation I have been on. Did the all-inclusive package and never had to worry about a thing- no extra charges incurred. Pools and beaches are very clean and well-kept. Staff is friendly and goes the extra mile to make sure you are having a good time. Food was great, I have a gluten allergy and they were very cautious and accommodating. Could not have had a better trip, highly recommend!

    Great Vacation

This was our 5th stay at VDP and there’s a reason we keep coming back…it’s fantastic. We brought another family this trip for their first VDP experience and they loved it as well. The rooms are spacious, well-appointed, and there’s nothing to worry about. Special recognition to our breakfast waiters at Capricho’s — Cesar and Ignacio — they were superb and had our morning drinks already at the table by the time we sat down! At the pool, Wilbert and David kept our drinks full and were extremely attentive. The only negative worth mentioning is that some of the pool attendants (not the waiters) were overly aggressive with umbrellas. On one day in particular, an attendant tried to take our umbrella because he said other chairs (that were unoccupied — hotel was at 17% capacity) didn’t have one. We had 2 because my daughter has a skin condition and requires shade, but he didn’t care, even through there were plenty of other unused umbrellas that could have been moved. The attendant finally said “no problem” but came back 4x to try and take it again. Each time I asked him to leave us alone and he refused, so I asked for his manager. Of course he refused that as well, but he also didn’t get our umbrella and eventually went away. Then the very next day, despite being so adamant the day before that we couldn’t have 2 umbrellas (for 6 chairs), he didn’t say a word and actually offered to bring another guest a 2nd umbrella who was sitting next to us. I’m not sure why Angel changes his tune, but his customer service skills are definitely lacking. Despite that experience, it was still a great stay.

    Great Service and Attentive Servers

We ate at Capricio's buffet and just want to let everyone know about Efrain Parra. Efrain was amazing and attentive and gave great advice on places to eat around the hotel area. Also wanted to give a special shoutout to Raul the server at the hotel pool. He kept those drinks coming and even surprised us with a cute dessert for my brother in laws birthday

Should be renamed Mirage Del Palmar

The hotel grounds are immaculate. The food is above average to good. The pools are amazing. The issues at Villa Del Palmar Cancun are the little things, which sometimes become big things. We stayed here in January 2025 and are here right now (May 2025). Our experience was pretty bad in January, but there was enough good that we wanted to give them a 2nd chance. We are presently in a 2-bedroom oceanfront room. The terrace jacuzzi works well and the views are amazing. We are on the end, however, in 1803 (8th floor), and our elevator is inoperable and will be for the entirety of our stay (never communicated to us). We are over 65 and it’s not pleasant to walk completely out of our way every single time to get to the other elevators located at the front of the property. They also have this rather peculiar habit of either entering without knocking or entering immediately after knocking. This has happened more times than I care to admit. This leaves us with no sense of privacy whatsoever. In fact, my wife and I were in our terrace jacuzzi yesterday and much to our suprise and sans request, out of nowhere appeared one of the butlers. Every room that we’ve stayed in here has very low water pressure. It’s manageable if not preferrable. Even though we understand the receipt system, it is really inconvenient. To boot, like other reviews, you really need to stay on your accounting game. They can and do make errors, and “conincidentally” never err on the side of the customer. There have been other minor things: door unlock reader broken, food left in freezer from last guest, a/c breaking down (fixed once, not fixed another), no restocking of the fridge or snack bar, etc. Some of these may sound like minor issues, and they are when merely singular in fashion. Instead, they form a photo album of issues that make for a less than stress-free stay. I will add that we have stayed in the penthouses here and they are not cheap. These types of occurences should not occur for this property and room tier. When compared with other properties that we visit with the same level of service and star levels, sadly and unfortunately, Villa Del Palmar Cancun is a failure. Lastly, like many Trip Advisor properties, the general manager at Villa Del Pal Mar, Eduardo Alcalde, often writes that he hopes to have an opportunity to provide guests with a positive hotel experience in the future. We’re going to be here a while longer - Mr. Alcalde, you can try to make our CURRENT experience a positve one WHILE we are still here.

Best Honeymoon Getaway we could have ever wanted all thanks to the staff!

We recently stayed here for our honeymoon (May 10-17, 2025) and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. The staff were all amazing and kind. They did anything and everything for you to make your stay even better. A few of the staff members really stood out to us. At the elite members pool we had the servers Benjamin & Renan. We only had Benjamin for 1 day but he was sure to say hi to us every day for our 7 day stay. We then got Renan. Renan was the best pool server we have ever had. He was so on top of everything, quick service, never left empty’s on the pool deck or on the tables for very long. Quick to deliver food and drinks. Very very friendly. Also at the elite members pool we also had Kevin & Jared who made sure that our pool spot was revered for us every morning with towels pre set. In the afternoon they would switch our towels to ensure that we always had fresh dry towels on our lounge chairs. They also passed out fruit skewers, cold towels & treats during the day. At the lobby bar that we visited nightly during our stay, we had Obet & Adrian. They made the perfect bar team. Working hand in hand. Making us unique drinks to try, and some unique shots. If you get Obet as a bar tender, be sure to ask him for shots! He will not disappoint you. Be sure to ask Adrian for his special espresso martini, it was way better than any normal espresso martini! All of the villa staff members were outstanding. But these 6 gentleman really made our stay even better than we could have asked for. Thank you Benjamin, Renan, Kevin, Jared, Obet & Adrian for making our stay oh so memorable! We will be back for sure.
