Worst Resort I Have Ever Been To
⭐ 1-Star Review Unfortunately, this was one of the worst resort experiences we’ve ever had. We stayed a week at Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach, and it was far too long. Arrival: Airport transportation isn’t included and cost us $32 per person for a 15-minute ride. Our room wasn’t ready, and the “VIP” option we paid for seemed to mean nothing beyond skipping a line. Room: Outdated and poorly maintained — broken fixtures, dirty grout, thin walls, and a shower that swung between freezing and scalding. The room needed a deep clean. Service: Many staff members seemed irritated or uninterested in helping, even with simple questions. Activities: Most activities must be booked through an app that doesn’t work. Snorkeling gear was just masks, paddle-boarding was highly restricted, and bees were everywhere. Poolside activities were the only thing we enjoyed. Food & Drinks: Some of the worst we’ve had at a resort. The buffet was low-quality, the specialty restaurants were disappointing, drinks were watered down, and bottled water wasn’t always restocked. Feral cats wandered around inside the buffet. Cleanliness: Dirty hot tub, hard-to-get beach towels, and overpriced excursions. Safety Concerns: Safety was a huge concern for us. During our stay, other guests shared with us that there had been a serious incident involving someone being harmed just off the resort. While we didn’t witness this firsthand, hearing about it — combined with the overall lack of security presence — made us feel extremely uneasy and much less safe than we should at an all-inclusive resort. Overall, this resort was incredibly disappointing. We were told renovations are planned, but until they’re complete and safety and service clearly improve, I strongly recommend staying elsewhere.

Definitely a three star hotel with a gorgeous beach.
My review may be lengthy but it’s all factual and accurate and fair. The distance from the airport to the hotel is a quick 20mins drive, check in was fairly fast and simple, however there were no bellhops or anyone to help us take our luggage to our room which not easy to find. The room was spacious clean and basic with the loudest creakiest bed I have ever encountered . There is a mini fridge and you get two 250ml water bottles for the entire week. There are water dispensers at the bars and in the dining room, so you need a water bottle. The bathroom however was disgustingly the shower has layers of soap scum and looked so grungy, I wore my flip flops in every time I took a shower. We were also in a connecting room which made me extremely uncomfortable. We went to guest services @ 9am the next morning after arrival to try and book the à la carte restaurants and was told to use the viva app only to find there were NO AVAILABLE reservations, the staff had to manually reserve for us. The à la carte restaurants were a 5/10 nothing impressive . The buffet was a solid 3/10 for me and many buffet items were done within 90min of the buffet opening and not replenished even though the hours are 6.30 to 10. The beach was lovely and never crowded with tons of coconut tree but there are no umbrellas so you need to keep moving if you want some shade. The entertainment I must score as a 10/10. The entire entertainment team were friendly and they had activities all day and ending with an amazing nightly show. There is an issue with beach towels, most days they are out and you are told to come back in a couple hours, extremely inconvenient when you want to start your day at the beach. We overall had a restful week as we spent all day at the beach daily .

We truly enjoyed our family vacation at the Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach!
Our family had a truly wonderful vacation at your resort in the Bahamas, and we want to extend heartfelt thanks to several staff members who made our stay exceptional: - Chef Manuel, for his kindness and thoughtfulness in remembering us and going out of his way to bring apples. - Lifeguard Malaya, for her smart, friendly, and knowledgeable presence that made us feel safe and welcome. -Cook Atina, for her delicious omelets that brightened our mornings. - Jerry, for his great service and fun spirit at the à la carte restaurants. - The housekeeping staff were extremely personable and brought a sense of humor that made our time more enjoyable. - The front desk team provided excellent assistance when we encountered difficulties navigating the app to make à la carte reservations, and their support was greatly appreciated. - Several bartenders also stood out for their friendliness and personable service, contributing to the welcoming atmosphere overall. We are so grateful for their warmth and professionalism, which made our holiday unforgettable. That said, a few things could be better. The à la carte restaurants were always booked up, so we didn’t get to try them all. It would also be nice if bottled water was available for non‑VIP guests and if the fridges had beer stocked. A few bartenders could be a little more personable to match the great energy of the rest of the staff. Overall though, we had a fantastic time and would love to come back. Warm regards, Sue & Family ---
