    The rooms closest to the beach are nice.

    The place is not too big so it is easy to get around. The pool is very close to the beach so you can go swimming at the pool and have great views of the ocean. Nice long beach to walk on. The staff is very friendly and the food was good.

    Do Your Research and Lower Expectations Before Booking.

    Clean resort with good food, friendly staff, and fun shows. But broken AC and toilet went unfixed, hot‑tub was cold, service was slow, not the resort to come and snorkel at, and restaurant bookings were limited. Pushy beach vendors, long time‑share pitch, and items taken from our room hurt the experience.

    Beautiful beach and pool

    Nicely groomed beautiful beach. The pool was lovely with some fun poolside activities. Food was good, esp. the Mexican. Our 2nd floor room was in a nice quiet location close to the beach. Drinking water was readily available. I did not find decaf coffee. The hotel itself was nice. Our two queen bed room was problematic with water leaking on the floor from the air conditioning vent in the ceiling and the maid quicly mopped. Our shower developed a large leak after it rained and looked like the plaster was going to fall down. Maintenance quickly repaired the ceiling. The beds were not comfortable, the A/C was noisy, there was very little water pressure in the bathroom sink and the shower never got very hot. It was minimally furnished with only one chair and not enough space for personal belongings. Both queen beds were shaky and uncomfortable. In the 10 days we were there, we were unable to get a beach lounger at all due to people putting towels on them to reserve them every single morning. We could not get a beach towel one day for hours due to a dryer problem and we needed them for a catamaran excursion. Viva staff are constantly stopping you with a sales pitch to sell you memberships. Given the maintenance problems with our room, a membership is not happening. But the staff were great and English was never a problem.

    Our holiday

    Very nice location and we enjoyed the activities and the nice people of that place. We feld really welcome. Well first we didn’t think we get into a retiring home. But Uli got that vibe back up
