Michael F was the kindest person to be greeted by. The day was so stressful but he made me feel so much better by the simplicity of presence. I truly appreciate him. This hotel is so blessed to have him working here. One of a kind guy.

Beachcomber is well-located across the street from the pricier beachside hotels and next to an upscale shopping centre. I didn’t try the cafe or Maui Brewing Company restaurant after reading their reviews, but there are good options nearby. Try Bean About Town if you’re serious about your coffee, two blocks away. The staff are really perky and nice, which I have found can be rare in the service industry in Waikiki. They let me to check in at 9am, which was great after a long flight, and gave me a GHA Discovery free upgrade. But it’s worth noting that they didn’t offer to hold anything for me when I emailed them my arrival time ahead of time, as they are supposed to for “titanium” members. Modest amenity kits are available only on request, but good luck getting an operator to pick up the phone when you call down to ask for something. I had a great view of Diamond Head and the beach from the room and balcony. But the surprisingly loud HVAC units a dozen floors below took away from the ambiance on the balcony. My sense is it’s hard to get away from HVAC units at Waikiki hotels, though. The hotel is old. They’ve renovated a bit, but you can see in things like light switches that it wasn’t a total makeover. Another example: the sliding glass doors to the balcony didn’t shut all the way because of a misplaced stud. The bed was okay, but I found the pillows uncomfortable. The lobby is windowless and low-ceilinged so a bit sad for a beach hotel. Beachcomber is okay. There aren’t a lot of great hotels on Waikiki, so the reviews may be right that this is a top choice there. Just keep in mind that, despite the price, this would be a mid-range option anywhere else.

Perfect location and excellent service!
We had a wonderful stay with outstanding service. Our housekeeper, Fina, deserves special recognition. She attended to our room daily and went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. Her kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail made a big difference in our experience. Overall service was a 10/10. Perfect location — close to everything and very convenient. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We truly enjoyed our time here.
