  Nice resort

  This resort is in an fabulous location and is very nice. There are some beautiful trees on the property. I believe the rooms were recently removed, but is showing some wear. The people are friendly and the food was pretty good. The Wailea shop are a short walk and you can buy food at the Island Gourmet Market that is affordable.

  The best location near the water in Wailea, but, experience not as good as usual

  I have stayed at this hotel for 10 years at least once per year, sometimes twice except 2020. The staff was all wonderful as always. We stayed in a different room than usual and it was in poor shape. It seemed like it was tucked in a far corner in Bldg 7 and no one stays there regularly or no one had done so in quite some time. When we arrived to our room we immediately noticed the safe was not working, the sheer curtains on the main sliding glass door were missing. Strangely enough, the heavier sheet of the shower curtain was also missing. The lanai was filthy. It was near the Luau Area and has the landscape cleaned with blowers. Well, the blowers blow all the dirt all over the lounge chairs and furniture. Most of the time, the grassy area outside our lanai was covered in leaves. I almost went to clean them up myself. I did clean the chairs and sofa and loungers myself and the towels came out absolutely filthy. I reported all this in my review post-stay, but, never received a response. I have usually had very good communication from surveys in the past, but, not this time. For the first time, I am hesitating to book my annual stay at the Wailea Beach Resort. It felt like something had changed at the hotel and not for the better.

  People and property very tired

  I've been staying at the Wailea Marriott for more than a decade, so this review isn't written in anger after one bad night. It's written in disappointment after watching a property I know well fall well short of what it charges. The rooms did not match the marketing. The hotel is listed as fully renovated. During our stay we dealt with multi-day air conditioning failures, peeling paint, visible rust, mold, and drains and toilets that simply didn't work — tubs that wouldn't drain and toilets that ran continuously no matter how many times we reported them. None of that is consistent with a property that has been recently renovated, and none of it is consistent with the rate. Front desk service was the weakest link. Every interaction at check-in and during the stay was handled poorly — slow, indifferent, and at times dismissive or accusatory of the very issues we were raising. It genuinely feels like the front desk team has been in their positions too long and has lost the urgency a hotel at this price point requires. That's a leadership problem, not a staffing one, and it shows. What still works. The bell staff were fantastic — genuinely warm, efficient, and everything you'd hope for. The location itself is unbeatable. Those two things are why this review has two stars instead of one. The bottom line. At $1,100+ per night, guests are paying for a Marriott that performs at the level of its brand. Right now this property is charging premium rates for a product that doesn't deliver on its own renovation claims. I hope management takes the maintenance and front desk issues seriously, because the bones of a great hotel are still here.

  1 Star Experience Ruined our Anniversary trip.NO AC IN WHOLE RESORT Let me start by saying that we are Marriott Titanium, we travel A LOT. We have been to the Marriott Wailea location 7 previous times prior to Covid and LOVED it! We decided to come back this year for our 18th wedding anniversary and right away we were shocked at the degradation of the hotel since we had last been there. The Lobby is still beautiful, however the rest of hotel is in total disrepair. The rooms are filthy, smelly, falling apart and generally just run down. This is not what we were expecting for 1K a night!! Its clear the present owners have done little to maintain this property over the years, peeling paint, chipping stucco, dirty rooms etc. As if this weren’t bad enough in the middle of our one week stay the AC went out for the WHOLE resort and was NOT repaired before we left. We were never notified of the situation, nor were we offered anything. Again, not what one expects for 1K a night. This will be our LAST trip to this resort…
