  Unmatched 5-Star Luxury & Exceptional Service (Even During a Hurricane!)

  Our stay at Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal was nothing short of perfection from start to finish. What truly elevates this property above any other is the incredible staff and world-class service. From seamless check-in to meticulous housekeeping, attentive waiters, and talented bartenders, every single team member went above and beyond. Having the concierge team available via text made everything effortless—we never once felt a gap in service. ​The culinary experience was another highlight. The Molcajete at Crudo was absolutely amazing, and the poolside cocktails were truly top-tier. ​We happened to visit during Hurricane Rachel, which brought some heavy rain and wind, but the team handled it impeccably. The weather didn't take away from our trip for a single second because the warmth of the staff and the sheer beauty of the property shined right through. We can’t wait to return!

  Started as a 3★ stay, ended as a 5★—thanks to the staff’s efforts to make things right.

  We spent 3 nights here and, unfortunately, experienced quite a few issues in that short time. We are extremely grateful that the staff worked hard to “make amends,” but a 5★ resort under the Waldorf brand should be more proactive so these issues are prevented in the first place. We also brought additional business to the resort by inviting friends to join us. They ultimately stayed 4 nights. Let me start with the positives: The resort itself is beautiful, and 95% of the staff are fantastic. Our room was immaculate (tip your housekeepers!), and the little touches are truly what set a 5★ hotel apart—the daily 4pm guacamole, chips and beer delivered to your room; nightly turndown service and a treat; the thoughtful way our belongings were organized; and the property staff constantly offering to help. One small disappointment: the tequila gift in the room is no longer Casa Azul, but Tequila Blanco. It’s a bummer when so many photos/reviews still show the Casa Azul bottle that used to be provided. Now for the issues: 1. The birthday surprise that never happened. I had communicated with the concierge that we were celebrating my husband’s 50th birthday, assuming they might do something special in the room based on reviews/photos I had seen. There was nothing. They did make up for it later, which we appreciated, but it would have been nice if the communication had actually resulted in the surprise. 2. The upgrade situation. We are Lifetime Diamond Members, which includes an automatic room upgrade “if available.” Before arriving, I had checked the available rooms and saw multiple categories above our standard room still available. At check-in, I asked about our benefit and was told there were no rooms “one level above” available. We accepted that explanation and went to our standard room. Later, we were told there had been a “cancellation” and an upgraded room was now available. The room was spectacular—but we were already completely unpacked, it was 9:30pm, and we had been traveling since 3:30am. We politely declined. The frustrating part was that we knew the “cancellation” explanation didn’t make sense because we had already checked the available rooms ourselves. Had the upgrade simply been handled transparently from the beginning, this would have been a very different experience. 3. Making amends instead of being proactive. That first afternoon, the resort texted to check on us. I responded that I was disappointed about the birthday surprise and the upgrade situation. That is when things started changing. When we returned from dinner, there was a lovely balloon and birthday gift for my husband, which was genuinely appreciated. But my frustration is that I had to express disappointment before the resort responded. If we were treated proactively as 5★ guests from the beginning, we wouldn’t have needed to be disappointed in the first place. 4. Our Diamond breakfast benefit was also missed. The next morning, we realized our friends were enjoying a full breakfast, including the buffet, while we were given a continental breakfast of pastries, fruit and cereal as Lifetime Diamond Members. Considering how much we have invested with Hilton to reach Lifetime Diamond status, this was especially disappointing. While walking back to our room, we ran into Monserrat, one of the concierges. I asked whether, since we had turned down the 3-bedroom upgrade, there might be something else they could offer—perhaps a spa treatment or the full breakfast. She said no to the spa treatment but would check on breakfast. Later she called and approved the full breakfast for our remaining two mornings. Again, we appreciated the gesture, but why did I have to come up with the solution? 5. The power outage. On our second day, it was raining and the power went out. Initially, we were led to believe that most of the resort had lost power. We later learned it was only our building (#3). Because of the rain, we couldn't enjoy the pool, so we were essentially stuck in our room without A/C or lights for approximately 3–4 hours. Our friends, staying down the hall, had the same issue. This seemed like another missed opportunity for proactive service. Why not offer guests the option of moving to a building that still had power? 6. Another birthday surprise was forgotten. That evening, the four of us had dinner at El Farallon. Our friends had purchased a cake and arranged with the restaurant ahead of time to bring it out after dinner as a surprise for my husband. Unfortunately, they forgot. We didn’t find out until the next morning that, around 9:30pm, our friends received the cake and two glasses of wine in their room as an apology. Again, we appreciated the eventual gesture, but it was another example of something that should have gone right the first time. 7. We missed the turtle release. I had noticed the turtle nursery was expecting a release around 9/16. On 9/15, I specifically asked Monserrat about it. She told me there would not be a release and explained that it was ultimately up to nature. We completely understood—you can’t control God's plan! However, at approximately 5:45pm, she notified us that there would in fact be a release at 6:15pm. Unfortunately, we had already spent $300 on an off-property food tour and needed to leave immediately to arrive by 6pm. Had we known earlier, when I first asked, we could have changed our plans. We sadly missed the turtle release—something we had really hoped to experience. The staff did make a real effort to turn things around. Monserrat in particular worked hard to make amends for the various issues. She arranged a complimentary tequila tasting (Eduardo was wonderful), had JP surprise us with cocktails at the pool (he was great too), and arranged a beautiful surprise of rose petals and treats on our bed one evening. We are VERY grateful for those efforts. Those gestures mattered and are a big reason this review went from 3★ to 5★. At the same time, it’s hard to ignore that we experienced seven separate issues during a 3-night stay. Most weren’t catastrophic on their own, but collectively they made the experience feel much less seamless than we expected from a 5★ Waldorf property. The resort is beautiful, the majority of the staff are wonderful, and there are many things they do exceptionally well. My hope is that management looks at these experiences not simply as opportunities to “make amends,” but as opportunities to improve the systems and communication that would prevent them from happening in the first place. Outstanding employees: Our housekeepers, Ricky, all of the valets, Salvadore, Sergio, Eduardo, JP, and Monserrat. They were all wonderful and deserve recognition for their efforts.

  5 Stars at the Waldorf Astoria

  I want to recognize our concierge, Fabian, for everything he did during our stay. He was so communicative and fast responding to all of our requests. When we saw him around the resort, he always had a smile and asked how he could help make our stay even more special. He is the best and extremely professional, while staying personable as well. We loved our stay here

  The Best

  So excellent, in every respect. We were treated so well. Received a room upgrade fit for royalty. One unanticipated touch was, for my birthday I was sent a small Waldorf-Astoria cake just like the ones my mother made for me on my birthday when I was a child. I had forgotten about that (we're looking at 60 years ago). Anyway, how do you beat this... you don't.

  The Ultimate Relaxing Vacation

  Continually one of the best resorts we’ve ever been to. The service at this hotel is what sets it apart from any other hotel in the world. The concierge butler, Rey, did an outstanding job with helping with any issues, booking reservations and even double checking restaurants for us when we wanted a last minute reservation. He went so above and beyond for us and made us feel deeply welcomed. We ate at Don Manuel’s twice during our 4 night stay and each time we were completely blown away by the high end Mexican flavors and dishes. Their aguachile dish was incredible we could drink the sauce like a soup! Another favorite was their catch of the day in a sweet potato puree that still very much had a Mexican flare and was so amazing. And during the day my husband was obsessed with their Mexican pizzas and fish tacos! Our 2 servers were so incredibly kind, Rafael and Omar you could tell were so passionate about their careers and so happy and proud to work here. You really felt like family and they went above and beyond to celebrate my husbands 40th birthday. Most of all I love this Waldorf’s spa the best. There is no where like this in the world. It’s truly something incredibly special with their foot scrub ritual and the pool area where they bring you fresh popsicles. I also took advantage of their in room bath soaks 2 different nights called Inner Goddess which was such an amazing addition that they offer to their guests for the ultimate relaxing experience. I’ve stayed at numerous 5 star resorts and various Waldorf Properties including the one that just opened in Costa Rica and no one comes close to Waldorf Pedegral’s food, location, service, and vibe. Something so uniquely special I’ve travel from South Carolina 5 times now to come visit and each time is better than the last. We can’t wait to come again!
