Amazing Resort
Beautiful resort, great food just wish better selections on menu’s. Room clean and spacious, wild life galore. Only issue if your a women you definitely get treated differently that’s if they acknowledge you. Kept calling my boyfriend by my last name. Everything is geared towards the male’s and you can tell how the females are treated. Unfortunately the woman at checkout at the main lobby was so rude it really ruined my stay. Gym was a joke, rude employees that just sit and stare while you work out. Dress code NOT enforced, not interested in looking at half dressed people while eating lunch. Just still can’t get over how horrible the females are treated and everything is geared towards men.

second time - even better than the first!
my wife & i stayed @ the westin six years ago for nine nights...we have been saying for years how badly we wanted to go back to costa rica again & stay there. we just got back from another nine night stay. it did not disappoint, it was even better than the last time. we stayed in the adult tower two, our concierge's, Ariel, Jeffrey & Javier, they did so much for us, anything that we asked, they made it happen. can't thank them enough. the adult pool staff, all of them were amazing. you can't ask for better service all around this resort. the food at this resort is better than most other al inclusives that we have been to, we didn't have any complaints. the buffet had a thanksgiving dinner also, we were very happy we got to eat some turkey and all of the other thanksgiving food while we were there. we booked two off resort excursions with Erik G on the beach with the blue google shirt, he went over all of the excursions with us and we picked out the ones we liked the best, he was awesome. highly recommend booking with Erik if you're wanting to go off the resort. out of the nine nights we were there...we got five massages on the beach, Sarah with the green tent...absolutely amazing. nothing negative to say, very easy five star review. we will be back for a third trip, sooner than later. thank you to everyone at the westin who made our trip special.

The good and not so great staying at Westin Club Adults Only
We stayed at a total of 5 hotels during our trip do Costa Rica and this one left us with mixed feelings. This review will highlight the best and the not so great aspects at this resort. We stayed at the Westin Club adults only, but enjoyed all the facilities. - lush garden with some wild life, including a grouper of howling monkeys, many iguanas and coatis. The gardens are beautiful and very well kept. - Restaurants; Cauri ( Spanish themed) and La Santana ( Costa Rica) were our favourite restaurants; breakfast at Faisanella ( exclusive for Westin club) is a La carte and therefore service is slower but the staff is willing to adjust menu to your preference. You will also avoid the hustle and bustle of the bigger restaurants. Mitra Market, the buffet at the resort was another huge disappointment. Food diversity and quality was probably the worst we had in country in Central America or Caribbean. We went there once and did not return. - Westin Club pool is beautiful and well cared for - rooms; our initial room had a lot of issues and malfunctions. After spending there the first night we informed manage of our disappointment. We were offered a room change, which we were glad to accept. It was a large room facing sunrise. We felt that management made this effort to compensate for the first day/night of our stay. We appreciated the gesture and faced no other issues. - Rooms generally are well appointed but starting to show wear. Refurbishment is in need. The room amenities are poor. - Night entertainment. Being mainly a family oriented resort, we understand night entertainment is not a priority. But for every night of our stay, there was only a DJ playing tracks in a Bar were most people were drinking. Outside the bar, a huge screen hit knots to screen American sports. Being in such a lively Central American country we expected live music or some local cultural entertainment being offered after dinner hours. There is room for significant improvement int his area. - Shuttles. In other reviews we saw some complaints about the size of the property. But if you have mobility issues or just don’t like walking there are always many shuttles passing offering transportation. - Beach. This was one of our major let downs. The beach is public wish is fine. Bust the moment you step in to the beach you will be approached by vendors. On the first day we felt overwhelmed but we tried to cope. Vendors are most of the time polite and will respect your silence. - Trash at the beach. This is a major issue. Travelling through Costa Rica you will notice all the streets and highways are super clean. But the Beach area where Westin clients stay, it is full of trash at the end of each day and in mornings too. Sadly most of the trash is left by the hotel guests and the hotel staff is not enough to clean up after. This is tragic and ironic. I wish the hotel implements measures to minimise this issue. - Westin Club adults only; booking a room at this categories means having a room in one of two exclusive buildings. You will also be able to have breakfast (a la carte) and lunch at La Faisanella, which operates exclusively for these guests at this time. At dinner it’s open for all guests. Premium drinks in bars only. At restaurants there are no premium wines included. Exclusive pool with good amenities and a more relaxed vibe. I would like to end this review on a positive note, mentioning the great staff. Not being able to mention every one. Three people were responsible for making our stay better! John, concierge at Westin Club, is amazing. Always present, helped us through the first days. We noticed he was multitasking between many guests never loosing attention to detail. A gentleman and a professional to the highest level and any company should be happy to have him. Erick at Faisanella Restaurant made breakfast and lunch experience special. Knowing about our preferences and making every request possible with a smile. Vanessa at Cauri Restaurant is special. With joy and professionalism she guided us twice through the menu making up for a great experience. Overall this is a great property but with room for a lot of improvement.

Resort is a must try!
I’ve stayed at the Westin twice now and each time was a delight. The pool is beautiful with a wonderful swim-up bar. There’s a variety of restaurants to try and the selection has gotten bigger since the last time I was there. I highly recommend trying Bamboo. All of the staff is super friendly and helpful. The beach is right outside the resort and has a variety of vendors - talk to Erik G (in the blue google shirt) for some amazing tours. I’ve gone on two of his waterfall/rainforest tours and they were incredible!

Amazing Family Trip
We spent the week of Thanksgiving at the Westin and we had such a wonderful time. We saw parrots, coatis, monkeys and tons of iguanas. The food was above average for an all inclusive. Spirula was our favorite restaurant we also enjoyed Coastal Burger Co next to imperial bar. We enjoyed cocktail and sangria making classes and our boys enjoyed the treasure hunt and nature scavenger hunt in the kids club. The pool is huge and never felt like the hotel was at full capacity. The family section has a separate bar with shaved ice for kids or adults if you like. Make sure to find Erik Garcia (blue google shirt) he set us up with 4 tours and we had so much fun on all of them. We will be back to Costa Rica again! Pura Vida!
