  A must visit country and must visit resort

  The location was super and full of life. Atmosphere was amazing. Rooms are very comfortable. Cleanliness was good. It's a very quite place. Service was awesome specially Emanuel was a great guy. He served us in excellent manner.

  🌴 Westin Reserva Conchal, Costa Rica — My Honest All-Inclusive Experience

  As I always do, I celebrated my **birthday (natal day)** at The Westin Reserva Conchal, an All-Inclusive Golf Resort & Spa in Costa Rica. Overall, it was a **good experience**, but compared with other all-inclusive resorts I’ve visited, I felt there were several areas that could be improved. I want to break down my experience by category so my ratings are more specific and fair. 👨‍💼 Staff — **10/10** This was definitely one of the strongest parts of my stay. The staff were **friendly, professional, accommodating, and always willing to help**. Special kudos to **Yamir from the Call Center Department** and **Bayron from Security**. I especially appreciated Bayron’s initiative when the seafood restaurant was fully booked and had a 30-minute waiting list. He took the time to call another restaurant to check for availability. I ultimately decided to wait, and we had a really good conversation while I waited. From the moment I arrived until the day I left, I never had a bad experience with any of the staff. They were consistently pleasant and helpful. **10/10 — Excellent service!** 🛏️ Room — **8/10** My room was comfortable and cleaned every day. The housekeeping staff did a great job keeping everything neat and tidy. The **AC was nice and cold**, which I personally really appreciate. 😂 The room was a decent size and comfortable overall. My only disappointment was that **there was no bathtub**. I was under the impression that the room I booked would have one. Overall, the room was above average and comfortable, just not quite at the top-tier level I’ve experienced at other resorts. **8/10** 🍽️ Restaurants & Food — **6/10** I really enjoyed the **fresh fruits**, especially during breakfast. That was something I looked forward to every morning. The resort offers a variety of dining options, including **Italian, seafood, Costa Rican, Asian, and buffet-style dining**. Some restaurants require reservations. I’m not usually a big fan of fancy or fine-dining-style food because it doesn’t always suit my taste buds, but I still like trying different restaurants for the experience. My biggest issue was the **buffet selection**. I felt the variety was somewhat limited compared with other all-inclusive resorts I’ve visited. The taste was also fairly average for me. There were definitely things I enjoyed, but I think the food selection and quality could be improved. **6/10** 🎶 Entertainment & Activities — **3/10** This was probably the biggest disappointment for me. I felt that there were **not enough activities**, especially in the afternoon and at night. Once the evening came, the resort felt quite quiet and, honestly, a little dull. Maybe I wasn't fully informed about all the activities available, so this could partly be on me. However, compared with other all-inclusive resorts I’ve experienced, I expected more entertainment and things to do. **3/10** 🌴 The Resort Itself — **5/10** This is really a matter of personal preference. I’m not particularly into **villa-style resorts**. I personally prefer a traditional hotel setup where most of the facilities are contained within one large building and everything feels more centralized. The resort itself is beautiful, but the layout just isn't my personal preference. I also learned that the **adults-only section was under renovation** during my stay. One of the employees mentioned that the resort was more lively when that area was open. I appreciate that the resort was transparent about the renovation and mentioned it during the booking process. **5/10** 💡 My Recommendations If the resort wants to improve the overall guest experience, here are a few things I think would make a difference: 1. Offer a guided resort tour for new guests. Instead of simply providing a map and pointing out the different areas, having someone personally show guests around would make it much easier to understand the resort. 2. Add more afternoon and nighttime activities. This was the biggest area that I felt needed improvement. More entertainment, shows, games, or social activities would make the resort feel much more lively. 3. Improve the buffet selection and food quality. More variety and better options would make a significant difference. 4. Add more options to the minibar. I think guests would appreciate having a wider selection of snacks and drinks available in the room. 5. Develop a resort app.An app where guests could view activities, make restaurant reservations, request room service, see resort information, and navigate the property would be extremely convenient. ⭐ Overall Experience Overall, it was a good experience, but not the best all-inclusive experience I’ve had. The staff were absolutely wonderful and deserve a lot of credit for making my stay pleasant. However, the lack of entertainment, limited buffet options, and the overall resort layout didn't quite match my personal preferences. Would I return? At this point, probably not—unless I see significant improvements or new offerings at the resort in the future. That said, I still had a great time celebrating my birthday and enjoying Costa Rica. **I love Costa Rica! 🇨🇷 Pura Vida! 🌴☀️**

  Wonderful family resort and a great Costa Rica experience

  We are a family of five with kids ages 6, 7, and 9, and it can be surprisingly difficult to find accommodations that work well for all five of us. The Westin Reserva Conchal was a great fit for our family, and we would absolutely consider returning. This was our first all-inclusive experience, so we weren’t quite sure what to expect. We stayed in a Family Suite with bunk beds and a pull-out couch, which worked really well for our family. The air conditioning in our room was excellent and very much appreciated after a day in the Costa Rican heat! Our kids also loved the Kids Club. We generally left them there for an hour or two depending on the activity. There were even a couple of times when they initially told us they didn’t want to go, only to have them begging us to let them stay longer when we came back to pick them up. That was a huge win for us as parents! The pool was another highlight. It’s large, with plenty of room for kids to swim, play and enjoy themselves. The resort also offered lots of activities, including ping pong tournaments, pool tables, exercise classes and more, so there was always something to do. The beach was beautiful, although the water can be a little rough for beginner swimmers. Our kids did fine, but water shoes are a must because there are lots of seashells along the beach. The complimentary boogie boards from the resort were a huge hit with our kids. The beach is public, so there are vendors walking around offering souvenirs, massages and other things. We simply said no thank you, and they generally moved along without being too pushy. Overall, the beach was absolutely fine for our family. One of our favorite things about the resort was the wildlife. We saw almost every animal we were hoping to see without even leaving the property — deer, raccoons, beautiful exotic birds and iguanas everywhere. It really made the experience feel like we were in Costa Rica rather than just staying at a resort. The staff deserves a special mention. We found the staff to be wonderful throughout our stay. They worked incredibly hard to make sure our family — and especially our kids — was accommodated and having a great experience. Several employees went out of their way to point out wildlife to our kids, show them interesting things or teach them fun new ways of doing something. Those little interactions really stood out to us and made the stay feel special. Food: This was our first all-inclusive, and the food was probably the area where our expectations were most tempered after reading other reviews. Breakfast was easily our favorite meal. There were tons of options, and the fresh fruit was absolutely incredible. Our other meals were more middle-of-the-road. We’d recommend skipping most of the poolside food service, with the exception of the burger, which our family really enjoyed. The Italian restaurant was our favorite dinner by far, while the Asian restaurant was fine but didn’t stand out as much. Overall, if you’re coming to Costa Rica primarily for a food-focused vacation, you may find the dining somewhat underwhelming. But for our family, the convenience of having plenty of food available on property — without having to leave the resort and spend additional money every time we wanted a meal — was absolutely worth it. We were satisfied overall and would definitely come back. One thing we weren’t sure about before arriving was tipping. We asked other guests, who told us tipping wasn’t expected, while some information we found online suggested otherwise. We ultimately chose to tip based on the service — generally around $10 per meal when we received exceptional service and around $5 when the service was good but not extraordinary. The staff always seemed genuinely grateful. We certainly didn’t feel pressured to tip, but we were happy to do so when someone went above and beyond. We also booked airport transportation and a full-day excursion with Erik G (the gentleman often seen in the blue shirt on the beach). We had heard great things about him and were extremely happy that we booked with him in advance. Our tour included waterfalls, a sloth experience, lunch, a volcano, hot springs and a mud bath. It was an incredible day, especially for our kids. They got to see all kinds of wildlife up close, including monkeys, sloths, frogs and snakes. It was easily one of the highlights of our trip. Erik was also incredibly accommodating. Our daughter became sick the night before our scheduled tour, and he had no problem moving our excursion to the following day. He answered all of our questions beforehand, handled our airport transportation to and from the resort, and made the whole process incredibly easy. Even though we saw him around the beach throughout our stay, everything was already booked and organized ahead of time. Highly recommend pre-booking with Erik G if you’re planning excursions or airport transportation. He was wonderful to work with and made our experience very easy. His WhatsApp is: ‪+506 8365 9046‬ and he is incredibly responsive. Each driver we had was equally friendly and we had spacious, air conditioned rides. All in all, we had a wonderful family vacation at the Westin Reserva Conchal. Between the family-friendly accommodations, Kids Club, pool, wildlife, activities, wonderful staff and beautiful setting, it was a great place for our family to relax and experience Costa Rica. We would definitely return!

  Great stay and extra experiences

  Overall, staying at the Westin all-inclusive playa conchal was a great experience. The staff was extremely welcoming, the room was very clean, and we had the amenities that we needed. There are lots of things to do and we stayed very busy between the pool, beach, hiking, snorkel, bikes, and boogie boarding. There are also many vendors available on the nearby beach who are offering different activities for a fee. We utilized Erik G to help coordinate a full day of exploring Costa Rica outside of the Westin campus. He helped set up a private tour van very easily, and we were able to enjoy the waterfall, wildlife, including sloths, and a coffee, chocolate and sugar cane tour. Our experience with Erik and the stuff that he worked was phenomenal. Our driver was Jose R. who was the safest driver in Costa Rica and entertained us every second of the day! He was really something special. We also worked with several amazing people to visit a nature preserve (Al and Gato), and a coffee, chocolate and sugar cane plantation (Jeffrey and Jose). This day changed our overall experience of Costa Rica for the better. Our driver picked us up and dropped us off at the Westin lobby, which was very convenient. Overall I would recommend the Westin for couples, families, and groups. The service, entertainment and lodging were all super great.

  FANTASTIC experience!!!

  Experience with the hotel has been FANTASTIC, the locals, the whole experience, food. Erick with the google shirt is the BEST! He was ALWAYS available, took care of our very good care of my groups needs! I can not recommend him enough!!!
